You can still use modloader, and mods that use modloader. My mod is still fully compatable with modloader, I just dropped the requirement of having it, because Minecraft Forge now has its own type of modloader implemented into it called ForgeModLoader. So in update 11 when you go to install the mod, all you need in your minecraft.jar is Minecraft Forge Build 135.
Well, the facehuggers don't exactly fully face hug. They still need some tweaking... And sometime in the future the aliens will be able to walk on walls, not sure how long into the future though. Also, your ideas of the different kinds of aliens are great I will think about adding some of the different types in newer updates.
well sitting ontop of my head is still pretty kool, but i'm really ready to be able to choose what species to play as the most lol. you update pretty quick to lol

Not yet, im trying to code a hive, but I do not want to release the actual hive until it is perfect. hehe.

What do you mean by that? Is it actually in the release previews? If that is what you meant, then yes.
"Who can you play as?"
So far you play as a normal player; however if you find enough predators and kill em, you can get their armor, helm, weapons, blah blah blah and basically play as a predator. Im not going to actually make a whole new game mode for being an Alien, Marine, or Predator... but I don't want to spoil how everything is going to work

Currently, Predator spears, Predator Wrist-blades, Plasma Cannons, Machine Guns, and a full set of Predator Armor (Including the Helmet with a custom HUD).
Wow yeah new textures look much better, gives a more dark gritty feel. cant wait to you implement pulse rifles and smart guns well should i say i hope you are implementing them lol.
also with regards to hives spreading. i was looking at the terraria mod the other day and they corruption in that spread through grass and stone, perhaps you could do something like that make it tough so it cant be mined by normal tools.
so no cheating to dig to the center. and perhaps have a hive control block like you have been testing in the queens chamber that once destroyed the creap will stop spreading.
But.. you do realize that the resin isnt hard right? its squishy until hard and when hard its brittle like bone.. so it isnt really the hardest substance in the world.. its more to act like camo for xenomorphs and likely to help confuse and disorient prey that wanders in so it cant escape

also found that with Randomobs, you can add your own textures, so that would save a lot of coding at your end, but still allowing various textures

That confused me since mobs do not take up Block IDs; However if you mean "How many block IDs does the mod take up?", I believe it is 8 currently.

This mod is not going to be similar to the way the 1.8.1 mod was made at all. The 1.8.1 mod was incompatible with just about every mod out there, since it editing a ton of base classes. I am staying away from that. By base classes I mean the actual files that run minecraft.

Xenomorphs fit in a 1x2 space and Xenos fit in a 1x1 space. Also the HD blocks are re-textured ones, I put the texture download and install instructions at the bottom of the thread post.
at the moment this is the only mod i'm following since you give so much more info constantly lol. This mod is going to turn out great So in the future will there be bases where humans spawn in? I just thought that this mod would be great with the turret mod as a marine lol. will there be sentry guns like from aliens?
Now that I can see the model I might suggest you tone down how many blocks are in the tail((I think I see five) And maybe upload what the queen looks like?
