Hey, i was having serious trouble getting this mod to work with any of my mods, so then i gave up and simply tried to use only this mod. But any time i select a world or try to create a new world, i instantly get 'saving chunks' and crash. My error log doesn't see an error either, it just cuts off. im running Pre-1.2.5 snapshot and using the latest version of modloader and this mod, and i just dont know how to make it work.
Good news, everyone! I'd say that our starter books will be done soon, so it's time to give ideas for magic! Anything you've wanted to see that's magic, from fire attacks to force fields, post here, now!

And other crap y'know fire, ice shards. Maybe at the start, the first 3 would be a fire spell, lightning spell and an ice spell. Then from there you would go on. So Ice would go to freezing mobs to healing. Lightning would go to stunning mobs to shooting an entity that creates lightning where it lands. Fire would start from just shooting fire balls and spraying fire, to shooting an entity that creates a big field of fire on the ground where it lands. Also shooting ghast fireballs to spawning 3 pigmen that help you. (Maybe they could be in a book called Magic book: Nether. They could found in nether fortresses?)

Tier 1: Fire Rage, when you get to 3 hearts or lower you are immune to fire. This level goes to tier 2
Tier 2: Pigman controller, When you have this skill selected and is used (there will be a buff) You right click a pigman and it becomes your friend (basicly it's a wolf but does more damage and more health) this splits to Tier 3-1 to 3-2
Tier 3-1: Ghast brawler. When you activate this spell a ghast fireball will shoot the way you are facing or it sits in front of you and then you hit it the way you want it to. This tier can increase to 3, everytime it increases you get another fireball. so 2nd level you get too shoot 2 infront of you. level 3 you shoot 3 fireballs in front of you.This tier goes to teir 4 when this and tier 3-2 is complete
Tier 3-2: Fire Hugger (Needs better name). You are immune to fire for 10 seconds. This tier can increase to 6. making you immune to fiire for 1 minute.This tier goes to teir 4 when this and tier 3-1 is complete
Tier 4: Fireball explosion. When you get this tier your fireballs have a bigger explosion radius. And when you get hit by a ghast fireball you become immune to fire for 5 seconds. (So when it explodes and you fall down the little hole and the fire in there doesn't hurt you so you can get out peacefully) this tier goes to tier 5
Tier 5: Nether King. When you get this tier you become the king of the nether. Nothing hurts you unless you attack it. And you can control 3 pigmen at a time when you have this tier. So you can use Tier 2: Pigman controller 3 times. So with this ghasts don't destroy everything you have and just don't annoy you in general, same with blazes and magma cubes. (Pigmen are already neutral)

Tier 3: Ice Sword, Makes you hold an "ice sword" the sword does 4.5 hearts of damage and auto stuns the mob. You have the sword in your hand for 30 seconds. This levels up to 3, 2nd level has the sword for 45 seconds and does 5 hearts of damage, 3rd level does 6 hearts of damage and stays in your hand for 1 minute. This tier goes to tier 4-1 and tier 4-2
Tier 4-1: Ice golem. Spawns a Ice golem for 40 seconds. auto stuns mobs and does 6 hearts of damage and has 35 hearts. (So it's a bit weaker than the iron golem)
Tier 4-2: Ice rage. Makes ice shards come from the sky and does 1.5 hearts of damage. The area of it is 8x8 This levels up to 3 2nd level is 16x16 arena and does 2 hearts of damage each hit. 3rd level 20x20 and does 3 hearts of damage each hit. This tier goes to tier 5
Tier 5: Ice Lord, when you have this tier your swords has a chance of stun, your ice sword does +2 hearts of damage. And your mist's area increases to 10x10. Also your health increases by 3 hearts, but your are more affected by fire than normal, so instead of fire doing only half a heart it does 1 heart of damage. Also your Ice rage does +1 heart of damage
The obvious reason why you take more damage in the fire is because your basicly ice inside so. But if you have the nether effect making you immune to fire you take no damage.
I don't actually think about these but i more just think of like 3 spells then come up with the rest on the go.

Tier 3-2: Fury, with this skill you become immune to fire for 10 seconds and a burst of fire swarms around you in a 10x10 area destroying blocks and mobs in it's way. (Can only destroy wood (planks and logs) dirt, leaves, tallgrass and everything else that burns) This tier is required with tier 3-1 to unlock tier 4
Tier 4: Fire Shield, you are surrounded by a shield of fire for 10 seconds and all mobs around you get injured by 1 heart and catch on fire (in a 5x5 area around you) This level can increase to level 3, 2nd level It is in an 8x8 area and stays you 20seconds and does 2 hearts of damage, 3rd level it's in a 10x10 area and stays with you for 30 seconds Also does 3 hearts of damage when the mob is in it's radius. This tier goes to tier 5 Tier 5: Fire Frenzy, with this skill all your fire spells do +1 heart damage. A rain of fire comes down to kill everything but it does no damage to you. And it does 4 hearts of damage each hit and catches the mob on fire. Also when you do this spell if it is raining where you are the rain disappears, then the spell commences.
These are just ideas remember you don't have to use them. I know some of these skills aren't the best for it's tier or just aren't good in general. But i hope this mod gets popular and you get a lot of downloads

Tier 1: Lightning Shock, this skill makes you have a chance to shock an enemy with a sword bow, shovel axe pickaxe etc. The Shock keeps the enemy in place for 3 seconds while doing 1 heart of damage per 2 seconds. This increases to 3, 1st level has 10% chance of shock, 2nd has 20% chance and shocks for 5 seconds, 3rd level has 30% chance and shocks for 8 seconds. This tier goes to tier 2
tier 2: Lightning ball, this skill enables you to shoot a ball of lightning at an enemy, this lightning ball does 3 hearts of damage and shocks for 4 seconds. This tier can level up to 3, 2nd level does 4 hearts of damage and shocks for 5 seconds. 3rd does 5 hearts of damage and shocks for 8 seconds. This tier goes to tier 3-1 and tier 3-2
Tier 3-1: Lightning bolt. This skill makes you able to shoot a bolt of lightning at and enemy, it does is the same as a normal lightning bold (the damage fire etc.) this tier increases to level 4 2nd the lightning does 3 hearts of damage (instead of 2.5) 3rd the lightning does 5 hearts of damage. 4th it does 5 hearts still but it homes into mobs, making it an exact hit. This tier goes to Tier 4
Tier 3-2: Lightning call. This spell enables you to struck 3 bolts of lighting (normal lighting) at the mobs around you, but it does 5 hearts of damage. So if there iis just a zombie all 3 lighting bolts will hit it, if there are 2 2 bolts will hit 1 and 1 will hit the other, and if there is 3 mobs then they will all get hit by 1 lighting.
Tier 4: Shock shield, this skill makes you have a lighting shield around you (basicly just put the supercharge texture onto the player) Ad when mobs get into it's radius (5x5) they get shocked, this tier can increase to 3. 2nd level the radius is increases to 8x8, 3rd level, when a mob gets in it's radius they get shocked and also struck by lighting. This tier goes to tier 5
Tier 5: Zeus! With this skill you are immune to lightning, you can start a thunder storm and your lighting bolt shoots 3 lightning entities instead of just 1. (they still home in if you have it to that level)
Done, probably the last one for a while, unless i just come up with an idea randomly. But i hope you put these into consideration. Again you don't have to use them. And you can change them up if you want to.

Magic book: Necromancing or Necromancy or something goes to another one above splits to 2 stays by itself
Tier 1: Drain, this skill drains all the mobs energy and makes it stand there walking really slow for 10 seconds. This tier goes to tier 2
Tier 2: Life Drain, this skill drains the life out of mobs, taking 1 heart off them and giving it to you. This tier increases to 5, every level increases drain by 1 heart. This Tier goes to Tier 3
Tier 3: Summon Skleleton, this summon skill, summons a skeleton at your side. it does 1.5 hearts of draining damage and has 10 hearts of health, but when you first summon it it only has 5 hearts, so you have to get it to drain life from mobs. If it's health is full then the health will go to you then you'll be healed. This can increase to 3, 2nd does 2 hearts of draining damage. 3rd has 30 health and it will have 15 hearts when you summon it. This Tier goes to Tier 4-1 and Tier 4-2
Tier 4-1: Blood Thirsty, this skill takes 2 hearts from 3 mobs each, so you would get 6 hearts health back. This skill levels up to 3, 2nd level drains 3 hearts each, and 3rd drains 4 hearts each. If there isnt 3 mobs then it will equally share it out.
Tier 4-2: Blood ball, with this skill you take one heart of life from yourself but does 5 hearts of damage on the mob. this upgrades to 3, 2nd level does 8 hearts of damage and 3rd level does 10 hearts of damage killing them instantly.But it still drains a heart from you, so be careful, you could be low on health then die. This Tier goes to tier 5
Tier 5: Blood Cloak, with this skill you have a special draining shield around you. It takes 1 heart off mobs and lasts for 40 seconds. this increases to 3, seconds level drains the energy out of them as well as drain 3 hearts. 3rd level does 5 hearts of drain damage. And again still drains the energy from the mob making them go slow. (like in Tier 1)

Also i have some other books, like ice lightning, brawling and necromancing Here they are:
In order: book of brawling, magic book: ice, magic book: lightning and Book of necromancy or something.
They aren't the best but meh. The ice is like ice shards although they look like snow, brawling is ment to be steve punching, and lightning is well lightning and the last one is meant to be a sort of skeleton with a cloak... I probably am saying this too much... But you don't have to use these textures, they are just for a little help If you don't have any. or if your too lazy...
Book of Marksman goes to another one above splits to 2 stays by itself
Tier 1: Arrow immunity, with this skill you can not be hurt by your own arrows. this tier goes to tier 2-1 and 2-2
Tier 2-1: Long bow, with this skill your arrows are shot further than normal, this increases to 5, each level increases by 3 blocks. This tier goes to tier 3
Tier 2-2: Power, with this skill your bows have the automatic enchanetment power on them, although it doesn't come up as an enchamntment, it just natually has it.
Tier 3: Small bow, this skill enables you to draw back the bow faster, this can go to level 3, 1st goes 1.5 times as fast 2nd goes 2x as fast and 3rd goes 3x as fast. This tier goes to tier 4-1 and tier 4-2
Tier 4-1: Arrow holder, with this skill when arrows are shot at you, you take the arrow and it goes into your inventory, but you still take the damage. this increases to 2, the 2nd level makes you able to pick up skeletons arrows.
Tier 4-2: Almost infinite, with this skill you have a 30% chance of not consuming arrows, this increases to 3, each level iincreasing by 30%. This tier goes to tier 5
Tier 5: Advanced Arrows, with this skill Your bow does +1.5 hearts of damage. And Your bow doesn't break as fast, it takes 2x longer than normal to break the bow.
Book of Bows or it could be called Book of Arrows or Book of Marksman... If you want i might be able to make a texture, depending on what name your going for.

Anlsi, I think we should add a tier 5 skill in the basic magic book that casts a spell according to the biome you are in.
So for example,
Jungle = ensnaring skill
Forest = surge/sudden speed boost
Tundra = ice bolt
Taiga = sprout/instant grow pine tree from target dirt or grass
Ocean = water blast/high knockback low damage
Beach/River = gust/no damage high knockback
Desert = heat blast/high damage low knockback
Mushroom = regeneration
Plains = tackle
Swampland = corrupt/makes mob run around in circles unable to attack
Nether = ignite/high damage no knockback
The End = bounce/a longer jump

Tier 1: Drain, this skill drains all the mobs energy and makes it stand there walking really slow for 10 seconds. This tier goes to tier 2
Tier 2: Life Drain, this skill drains the life out of mobs, taking 1 heart off them and giving it to you. This tier increases to 5, every level increases drain by 1 heart. This Tier goes to Tier 3
Tier 3: Summon Skleleton, this summon skill, summons a skeleton at your side. it does 1.5 hearts of draining damage and has 10 hearts of health, but when you first summon it it only has 5 hearts, so you have to get it to drain life from mobs. If it's health is full then the health will go to you then you'll be healed. This can increase to 3, 2nd does 2 hearts of draining damage. 3rd has 30 health and it will have 15 hearts when you summon it. This Tier goes to Tier 4-1 and Tier 4-2
Tier 4-1: Blood Thirsty, this skill takes 2 hearts from 3 mobs each, so you would get 6 hearts health back. This skill levels up to 3, 2nd level drains 3 hearts each, and 3rd drains 4 hearts each. If there isnt 3 mobs then it will equally share it out.
Tier 4-2: Blood ball, with this skill you take one heart of life from yourself but does 5 hearts of damage on the mob. this upgrades to 3, 2nd level does 8 hearts of damage and 3rd level does 10 hearts of damage killing them instantly.But it still drains a heart from you, so be careful, you could be low on health then die. This Tier goes to tier 5
Tier 5: Blood Cloak, with this skill you have a special draining shield around you. It takes 1 heart off mobs and lasts for 40 seconds. this increases to 3, seconds level drains the energy out of them as well as drain 3 hearts. 3rd level does 5 hearts of drain damage. And again still drains the energy from the mob making them go slow. (like in Tier 1)
There a necromancy book, i thought that there had to be a health book but also did damage so.
A golden arrow on a brown book. Bleh. Yours is better because your running sprite is low-res enough that it fits the books size much better than any other larger attempt. So it looks more natural. Oh, also, ribbons and balloons to you, because you just made the hundredth post!

Also i have some other books, like ice lightning, brawling and necromancing Here they are:
In order: book of brawling, magic book: ice, magic book: lightning and Book of necromancy or something.
They aren't the best but meh. The ice is like ice shards although they look like snow, brawling is ment to be steve punching, and lightning is well lightning and the last one is meant to be a sort of skeleton with a cloak... I probably am saying this too much... But you don't have to use these textures, they are just for a little help If you don't have any. or if your too lazy...
Book of Marksman

Tier 1: Arrow immunity, with this skill you can not be hurt by your own arrows. this tier goes to tier 2-1 and 2-2
Tier 2-1: Long bow, with this skill your arrows are shot further than normal, this increases to 5, each level increases by 3 blocks. This tier goes to tier 3
Tier 2-2: Power, with this skill your bows have the automatic enchanetment power on them, although it doesn't come up as an enchamntment, it just natually has it.
Tier 3: Small bow, this skill enables you to draw back the bow faster, this can go to level 3, 1st goes 1.5 times as fast 2nd goes 2x as fast and 3rd goes 3x as fast. This tier goes to tier 4-1 and tier 4-2
Tier 4-1: Arrow holder, with this skill when arrows are shot at you, you take the arrow and it goes into your inventory, but you still take the damage. this increases to 2, the 2nd level makes you able to pick up skeletons arrows.
Tier 4-2: Almost infinite, with this skill you have a 30% chance of not consuming arrows, this increases to 3, each level iincreasing by 30%. This tier goes to tier 5
Tier 5: Advanced Arrows, with this skill Your bow does +1.5 hearts of damage. And Your bow doesn't break as fast, it takes 2x longer than normal to break the bow.
Book of Bows or it could be called Book of Arrows or Book of Marksman... If you want i might be able to make a texture, depending on what name your going for.
Anlsi, I think we should add a tier 5 skill in the basic magic book that casts a spell according to the biome you are in.
So for example,
Jungle = ensnaring skill
Forest = surge/sudden speed boost
Tundra = ice bolt
Taiga = sprout/instant grow pine tree from target dirt or grass
Ocean = water blast/high knockback low damage
Beach/River = gust/no damage high knockback
Desert = heat blast/high damage low knockback
Mushroom = regeneration
Plains = tackle
Swampland = corrupt/makes mob run around in circles unable to attack
Nether = ignite/high damage no knockback
The End = bounce/a longer jump
