Now I coding Ruined Villages. There will be four states of villages: Inhabited (default), Abandoned (buildings are unbroken, but empty), Ruined (buildings are broken, but recognisable), Heavy ruined (building are seriously damaged, they approximate have 2-3 cubes of height). In non-living villages, villagers spawn points were replaced by zombie spawners.
Not so long ago I decided to use my old site for this mod. There, I will report all news about the mod on English and Russian languages. Soon, I will make everything about every building
With the new version, I decided to redesing some buildings. Soon, every type of village will be look different. For example, the poor villages will have small houses and big fields around village and in rich we can see advanced structures like automatic farms and two or three floor mansions. Also, in 1.2 was added advanced AI of villagers, so I may make it much better.
Between developing, I will release some new pre-release versions and of course post screens
Pre3 will be for 1.2.3 version.
The changes: village wealth, village types (living, abandoned, ruins, heavy ruins), stub engineer "house" (not done yet) and graveyard. If village have engineer house, then it has automatic farms.
Also, I'll see if it can be put into minecraft.jar with MCPatcher after you will release pre3

Yea, I've seen several villages too, and all of them were heavy ruined. And this system a bit buggy. For example, in one village types may mix and we see that one half of hall is ruined, but another half is fine Going to fixing...
