Soooo a lot of people may not know what Pikmin is... Quite understandable- no hate here- but let me educate you a little if you don't know, or for those who do maybe trigger some nostalgia...
Pikmin is a game that mixes puzzle with real time strategy to a create an amazingly addictive style of gameplay. Directly taking control of a small battalion of tiny ant like creatures called Pikmin you get to battle your way through hordes alien life forms and either collecting parts of your broken space ship or gathering treasure. Thats the basic idea, heres some videos though for even better description!
So Far....
Hit those 'F' Buttons and send your Pikmin about their tasks: when in range to an entity, they will attack it! Press 'R' to whistle to get your pikmin to follow you! press 'G' to dismiss them so they don't follow you, and press 'H' to throw them onto you're enemies and over obstacles!!!!
Install:
1)copy files for modloader into minecraft.jar
2)delete folder META-INF in minecraft.jar
3)copy files from PikminMod.zip into minecraft.jar or place the PikminMod.zip into your mods folder
4)enjoy (All would be resource installs are taken care of)

Custom Pikmin spawn system implemented- Spawns no longer messes with other spawn rates(wogpole spawns have been temporarily disabled)

WOW, do you know how much this means to me!?!?! I LOVE the pikmin series and that is why I have been playing overlord on the pc, they are so similar. As soon as this mod gets rolling, I WILL get it!

Thanks :biggrin.gif: hahaha but the things I'll need help with much until i get to actual interaction like the whistle and the guiding controls haha.
Maybe you could make it that pikmin do not spawn naturally, and you craft a dormant onion.
Then you can place this where you want, and right click on it to form a regular onion.
The pikmin spawning naturally is temporary- when i figure out how to force one spawn on the first player spawn there'll be no need for the pikmin to show up after that- though i do like the idea of the dorman onion- thanks for the input :biggrin.gif: I'll see what I can do
Idea- you could ask DJolsin for his path-finding code, would get rid of a lot of work.
Path finding isnt much of a problem haha- its more the animations and getting the pikmin to be able to be thrown and float while they attack- that'll be tough Thanks though!

I could give you some sprites the map to loacate missing pikmin.
Maybe add custom pikmin ill give you some sprite sheets All of them are made by fellow good minecrafters.

Get to other areas (dimensions)Use a rocket shaped portal?
Add npc or armor costume.
pelats spawn near spawn(seeds for petals as well)and a rocket spawn there aswell.
Honey(forgot what its called) By breaking tall grass if pulled by pikmin only.
Tamable Dweevils but there like wolfs pikmin can ride them.
Sprays make pikmin stronger or ****en hyper
smokey prog boss type.
And titan dweevil.

Yeah- i have some methods already figured out for thos- like the spray- portals is an interesting concept- i was thinking maaaybe a custom world but i want to add as few blocks and items as possible to reduce conflicts and keep open those for things like the Aether or other mods with large(ish) sprite requirements. My goal is to accomplish this with GUI gooks as well as entities- good ideas though-
If you were to make another dimension, it would open opportunities for Holes, and have a boss at the end that could give a treasure. eg. scorch guard makes resistant to fire.

Mmmm crafting sounds too close to KodachiZeros Clay Soliders which is not the effect im doing for- This will add enitity-entity fighting like said mod but in a different style that representing the pikmin game play,if not emulating it
You could make it that the onion gives you the seeds, and then you plant them like a regular crop. When they grow big enough, you destroy the crop and it spawns a pikmin (similar to silverfish when you destroy their blocks)
