Well, I think it's now 60% of the original speed, but I still don't fully understand the movement code. It could be more or less.
But it's now slow enough for the terrain generator, at least on my machine. :biggrin.gif:
Sweet sound like i can use this mod now with out massive lagg, also is there a way you could make the wings go a little faster (beats per minute) it just seems, slow for the speed
This looks pretty cool but I have one suggestion, could you possibly make the block destroying mechanic toggleable while flying the dragon? I think it would be cool to be able to phaze through blocks but also would hate accidentaly flying into my own house.
EDIT: I just got some new ideas. How about being able to feed the dragon ender pearls and if it eats like 5 or something, it lays an egg. Then the egg could be crafted into one of those boss alter things that feeds health to the dragon using the recipie below (ignore random dots):
I have no idea about their plans with the red dragons, but if I manage to implement that animation system... yes, it could be useful for sure if they want walking dragons. :biggrin.gif:

Hm... pretty complex. I was thinking of just adding a meta egg block that will enable terrain destruction when used. Because it still would be too overpowered for survival.
This is epic. I would like a installation tutorial, because it didn't work. (I used the standalone on a mac)
Also, when you said notch released the image-generator, sorry if I sound like an idiot, what is that?
If it's some way to change the texture for the dragon, I'm making alternate textures!

Well, I think there are tons of tutorials that show you how to install mods in Minecraft by editing the .jar file. I know it isn't very user-friendly, but that's the current state of modding here: highly experimental :tongue.gif: (or try ModLoader)

Here ya go:
You only need it as a developer for the initial texture map so the game knows which pixel in the texture is which pixel on the model. The result looks similar to this (early screenshot of the original Ender Dragon). For custom textures, you can just edit the existing bitmap with an image editor :wink.gif:
no since this is client side only if it was SMP compatible would be cool but minecraft needs the new multiplayer api thats being released in march 2012

Exactly. Adding multiplayer support right now would probably be very crude. Maybe I can test it in the meanwhile, but I don't expect good results.

E=egg
O=obsidian.............GGG
G=glass..................OFO
F=Flint & steel........OEO
... Just a thought.
Hm... I'm not a big fan of banners. Maybe when it's not WIP anymore.
Yes, you can mine them like normal blocks (unless you're in creative mods).
In the way I would like to do it: too hard for me. I was thinking about a somewhat simplified version of this:
