If I do not reply to my posts, I either have no internet connection, or am busy with college work. Alternatively, I may be writing up the post now. It all depends on the situation.
Ridable dragons are now independent entities with their own model, renderer and textures. For now, the original Ender Dragon won't receive any of the changes for compatibility reasons.
Ridable dragons now have a proper collision detection and won't phase through the terrain anymore. (maybe I'll re-enable it for creative mode)
Ridable dragons are now slightly smaller than Ender Dragons and have less health points.
You can now land on the ground. Look up to lift off again. It's a bit stiff and glitchy right now and may look weird on uneven ground.
You can now mount/unmount while the dragon is grounded.
Ridable dragons won't drop an "Ender Well" and tons of exp when killed anymore, for obvious reasons.
The riding state is now saved when exiting and entering the world.
More model improvements and a new idle animation.
You can now mine dragon eggs like normal blocks.
You need a "fresh" minecraft.jar when upgrading from 0.1!

FOr the wings folding while landed, (im not sure if this is posible) Maybe make the real wings go invisible when landed and have a new paper thin texture of the wing folded at the side of the dragon. Also on the dragons gind legs you should make the top of the back legs thicker at the top and get thinner as is goes down. ( like this \/) I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MODDDING, DONT GET MAD AT ME IF THIS ISNT POSSIBLE.

Yes, I was thinking about that, too. This method doesn't allow smooth transition between folded and unfolded wings, but it still may be the best solution.

If I understand you right, that's not possible with the current model system of Minecraft, as it only supports cuboids. But that's fine and I'm not mad at you, because it would ruin the graphical style anyway :smile.gif:
The top legs are already thicker than the bottom ones, I think that's proportional enough for a Minecraft model.

Okay. I think i found a bug. Everytime i go to the end my game crashes, with saving chunks and black screen, or ifI spawn enderdragon. I have tried fresh jar and same thing happens. Other than that great mod.
hi looks really good and i downloaded, wen i instal along with MOcreatures it causes all mocreature mobs to spawn as people but with animal skinz lol lol lol
Hey, this is a suggestion about dragons that i found a long time ago. I just remembered about it now, so i'll post it here, and maybe you can take some of this guy's ideas, they're really good.
You're just a typical minecraftian, doing the minecraft thing and exploring a cave. It's a routine exploration until you hear a loud rumbling. You take a look and you know what you see? A giant lair, with one gigantic, mean looking dragon. But it doesn't attack, and you know why? It's asleep. You've just encountered a sleepy dragon, so what can you do with it? Many things.
ATTACKING: If you simply opt to ATTACK the thing, you'll certainly wake it up. You'll also **** it off. It'll either roast you with it's fire, or simply eat you.
ATTACKING V2 FEATURING BRIBERY: So you've learned your lesson, have you? Apparently not, because you've just attacked it again, you idiot! But you're in luck, because this dragon loves GOLD. If you throw some GOLD INGOTS at him, he'll become your unstable ally. And by unstable I mean he'll attack you at random times.
SWEET DREAMS(OR NOT): Luckily for you, there are other methods for awakening this beast. If you set up a MUSIC BOX and insert a GOLDEN DISC, you'll wake him up, alright. But you'll also scare him, prompting him to flee. But he's in a cave, how does he flee? By bursting right through the top of his lair and flying off into the sky.
SWEET DREAMS: That creepy golden disc wasn't the best idea, was it? Good news, you can use a GREEN DISC, too!
Simply setting the MUSIC BOX down near the dragon's head and inserting it will do the job. After awhile he'll begin to wake up, finally sitting up and letting out a powerful yawn. Congratulations, you now have a fierce and loyal buddy!
Some things details.
CAVE EXIT: Since the dragon is massive and spawns in what amounts to a giant cave, he'll always need to bust out through the TOP. All blocks destroyed this way would fall to the ground as items that you could pick up. When he exits, he'll stay in the air until he sees you again, in which case he'd land near you.
LAIR: This is where he spawns, think of a gigantic hollowed out "dome" of stone, with him in the middle.
SNORING: You'd hear this when you get close to him. It'd be loud and maybe shake the ground a bit.
COMMANDS: You'd issue him commands by crafting a BLOW HORN(Made from string and the horn of a bull). Right clicking the horn on him would set it as his HORN, you can't use that particular horn to command other dragons. When you right click the horn in the air, you'd see a small message saying what order you just gave. You can cycle through the commands via left clicking the horn.
But you don't want to have to cycle through multiple horns, right? Well, I don't, so here's an idea!
GRAND HORN: This is made by crafting three BLOW HORNS together diagonally. It works mostly the same way, except for one thing. Since this is such a massive horn, you'll need to place it before you use it. Issuing commands on this would affect all nearby tamed dragons.

Edit: Maybe you can make it do where the steve sits properly?. They would also have light green eyes (like the original endermen) and maybe an option for the particles or not.
I want to focus on riding for now. The rest is debatable when a proper mod API is available :wink.gif:

Well, config files aren't really intuitive. I have to think of something better...
Edit: and here's 0.2 for ModLoader. Man, that one required some ugly patching, good thing I've learned how to use Git recently...
