is there any good mods that go well with this mod?
It works great with Twilight Forest (nothing to do with the movie or books of the same name). If you're not familiar with Twilight Forest, it is another dimension similar to the Nether or Aether, in that it is a new and endless world within the endless world of Minecraft. As such, dragons make a great way to navigate the mostly dense forest areas and let you scout for interesting features from a great vantage point. You can also use them to easily get to the top of some incredibly tall structures that are present in Twilight Forest (I'm not going to spoil the surprises). The biggest advantage of using Dragon Mounts with Twilight Forest is: you can find dragon eggs in the forrest that also seem to spawn in large groups. I have found as many as about 20 eggs in one area before. More dragon eggs = more dragon mounts!
Hello me and my Friend have started a youtube channel so could you Post it up on the main Page. Maybe?
The link is
Could you please becuase we really need some viewers!

Hey man, I know you want to get famous on youtube.
But you are just spamming.
Your youtube channel has nothing to do with dragon mounts.
Why would he put up some random persons channel?
If you want views, try putting your channel in your signature.
Besides, advertising will just make you hated more for being a spammer.
Put it in your signature. You will get more noticed most likely.
Unless you are talking about the review, that is fine.
You made it sound as if you wanted your channel to be advertised.
Sorry if I offended you.
Has anyone had any trouble with portions of their worlds disappearing after installing this? Twice now I have come back to my main house and found it sheared in half. It literally looked like a giant space laser cut a cliean path right through my house. On one side of he path of destruction, my house remained with rooms exposed, furniture cut cleanly in half. On the other side, nothing remained of what had been there previously.
At first I thought it was Rail Craft, because it happened right after I installed that mod, but I took that out weeks ago and I just had the same thing happen. Dragon Mounts is the only mod I have added recently. My other mods have been in use so long, I can pretty much rule them out.
Anyway, I back up very frequently so I only lost about 2 hours yesterday, but I wondered if anyone has had a simllar experience or if I should consider other causes. Still love the mod!
I haven't had this problem, so it probably isn't dragon mounts, but instead it's a chunk error created by something along the lines of too many mods or a mod is overloading minecraft. Otherwise, I have no idea.

That sounds entirely likely, which could still make Dragon Mounts the cause, although not through any error in the mod itself. It may just have been the mod that broke the camel's back, so to speak. I guess I'll have to try what I was dreading and unload all the mods and begin to slowly re-introduce each after a sufficient amount of error-free paly time.
Thanks for the input!
Random thought (and let it be said that I hate giving developers suggestions on new mod features, but here goes): For those that are unhappy about the current egg situation, or are having trouble getting one without "cheating it in", what if rarely, but under certain conditions dragons laid their own eggs? It does beg the question which came first, the dragon or the egg, but at least it would keep the supply replenished.
Or this could just be a crazy idea that is unecessary and only I think is cool (much like a lot of other suggestions you usually see in mod threads). XD
I've had this mod for ages and its just great. It is one of my favorite mods by far, it would be awesome if there were more dragons though,
Definitely should make an earth dragon, (Green) and a frost dragon would be cool, (white, light blue), well anyway you get the point, make lots of dr gons! . And would you please be able to fix that the dragons don't go through walls, it gets really REALLY annoying, and make it that the dragons have special abilitys, (FIRE DRAGON = Shoots fire, kind like fire charges and makes damage), (WATER DRAGON= Shoots water balls that make damage), (AETHER DRAGON= Shoots like air waves that DESTROY!), (GHOST DRAGON= Like Grey soul stuff, that looks like the texture of ghost that does damage), (ENDER DRAGON= Purple Ball thingys of destruction that makes damage), (EARTH DRAGON= Shoots dirt and grass blocks that blow things up), (FROST DRAGON= shoots ice and snow that makes lots of damage, and if you make more make special abilitys for them!. Please do when 1.6 comes out, this would make this mod AMAZING! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I too have had this mod for quite some time now. I have enjoyed both watching, and experiencing it grow and develop from a simple mod, which just gives you a faster way to traverse your world (and occasionally destroy it), into the great mod it is today. As I am a big fan of dragons, and dragonlore, when I first defeated the enderdragon, I had the idea that, maybe you can hatch the dragon gg, and raise your own dragon. When I realized that this is not possible in vanilla minecraft, I decided to finally do what most everyone else does, and add some mods. I have gone through a lot of different mods, but I never could find one that really, spoke to me, you know. All these mods I had added extra things to minecraft, and changed the game a lot, and how I play it. After spending about a week attempting to play with, mod #50, i think (I stopped counting), I realized, that I don't want a mod that changes the way I play Minecraft, I just want a mod that allows me to ride a dragon. So I went on google, and searched "dragon mod". I thought I found the mod or me, but soon realized, that this was not the mod for me, as I wasn't too excited about the models, but they could always be improved upon later, and I still had no real use for the dragon egg, but it as close enough. I actually found this mod out of complete curiosity. As I was going to check on the dragon mod, as I typed it into the google search bar, one of the results was Dragon Mounts. I thought, "why not?" And so I read the posts, watched some reviewes, I realized, THIS was the mod I have been searching for all this time. So naturally, I said screw the dragon mod, and switched it for dragon mounts. I played around with it for a few minutes on a creative world, and I've never looked back. I will always have this mod installed on my minecraft.
And that's the story of how I found my favorite mod of all time. (sory about how long it is, but once i started writing this story, I couldn't stop) Anyways, I have a small suggestion for this mod once fire breath (or the different breath attacks everyone's been talking about) gets implemented back in, and that is: While fighting enemies with your dragon on the ground, the dragon has a different AI for combat, in which it has more attacks. Like it could, when surrounded by enemies, fly up to a decent height to allow the mobs to crowd the space directly below it, turn into a steep dive, fold in it's wings, and level out just before hitting the ground, causing it to crush the enemies underneath it, and the impact would send out a shockwave with the power of a knockback 3 enchantment, in all directions, but it only affects entities like mobs, or players. It could also take advantge of it's breath ability, if there is blaze powder in it's inventory, to use it's breath attack on it's own, much like the dragons in Skyrim do. It could also take off, and make multiple passes overhead with it's breath attack, while you continue to slash and hack into the enemy with your sword, kind of like air support. While flying on your dragon, you could fly low to the ground, gather up mobs in th dragon's claws, and either drop them from a high altitude, or if youre up against somethin like a ghast, the dragon can either hurl the enemy into, (and potentially through) the walls of cliffs, or hills, or slam it into the ground.(this it could also do while you are not riding it, if it is unable to use it's breath attack) Also, if you are extremely low on health, the dragon can pick ou up in it's claws, and carry you to a safe location.
Sorry it was a bit long, I hope I didn't overdo it.

First of all, don't be afraid to suggest, just don't force things. What you did was good. And actually, I like the idea! I really wish it was implemented *hint hint*. This would make dragon sanctuaries so much better. Dragons should lay eggs every...3, no 4 MC weeks. That way it takes a while, so it isn't OP, and is still a nice surprise.

Yay! Yet another suggestion.
I will not put this in a spoiler because it will be short.
Genders!
Yes, genders.
I always kind of feel bad not knowing whether my dragon is a boy or a girl, because it could be the wrong gender for the name!
Also, breeding would be slightly less OP when they have genders.

...*lightbulb* And if there is genders to make breeding less OP, then dragons laying eggs every now and then would be even less OP! That way it would be harder to make dragon factories!
Although this may sound nice, I don't think it should be added to the mod.
It doesn't respect the global minecraft style (or logic, whatever you call it). You don't need gender for breeding cows, chickens, pigs, sheeps, ocelots/cats, nor wolves/dogs. Then why would there be gender for dragons?
Because this is a mod.
Dragons are more emotional creatures, and smart as well.
So why not let them have genders?
Besides, if what you are saying went for everything in minecraft we wouldn't even have mods.
You cannot hatch, tame and ride dragons in vanilla, no?
No offense.

EDIT: Page claim! XD
Yes, after a while after they breed they will lay an egg.
Therefore making it hard to make dragon factories!

Or, instead of trying to breed dragons left right and center, you could reset the end and go kill yourself another momma dragon and hatch the baby. And just because a creature is intelligent, doesn't automatically assign it a gender. For all we know these dragons could have the intelligence of wolves, seeing as they perform the same functions as wolves, just with wings. And I have never seen any indication of emotion from these dragons save the 'successful tame' heart cluster notification that appears whenever ANY tame on ANY animal is successful. Cats and wolves will track the player character as well.
The points you made are easily refuted when you look at the AI limitations the mod author has to work with. No offense.

The whole point, though, is to make a better AI! If you add genders, then they would be more emotional, and therefore they would need a new AI (one better than wolves, cause I don't want my dragon burning itself to death like my wolves do...R.I.P. Fenris). This gender idea would (like I said) make dragon factories harder to create, because as is (if you change the config to allow eggs to spawn in chests), you can just get two dragons and give them fish, and BOOM, there's a dragon. Have them breed again, and again, and again, and you pretty much have created a puppy mill with dragons. Tell me there isn't something wrong with that.
When you hatch/spawn a dragon, can you make a GUI where you can choose their colours, of their body, eyes, etc.
And give a name when they're born. So instead of the "Ender Dragon" on the top of your screen it will display the name you gave the dragon.
And instead of that pink health bar, you should make them hearts.
I like the color idea! It's like in some fighting games where the same character has different color schemes. Different breeds could have different patterns, and each pattern could have different color schemes for it! Ta da! And some colors could stay constant, such as the golden stripes in the Aether dragon. Fire and water dragons would be a bit of a challenge, but that's what the people here are for: suggesting things! =D

First, adding a gender doesn't make it more emotional. It just adds one more parameter to a breeding process. You can sit here and project feelings and emotions onto your dragon all you like, but you are never going to see an emotional intelligence program in a minecraft mod. Highly paid programmers and scientists have been failing for decades to create one.
Second, then keep dragons hard to find. Resetting the End on a weekly basis keeps dragons both hard to obtain and rare, because you have to fight Momma Dragon to get a new egg. The whole 'breeding dragons outside of the End' thing is a stupid idea because no matter what you do, genders or no genders, dragon numbers will increase exponentially, given enough time and patience, no matter what you do to limit numbers. Giving a gender just slows it a touch at the start until proper herd maintenance and culling gives the desired gender:dragon ratio.
BUG REPORT: Tamed dragons don't attack anything you hit and also don't attack things that attack you (and please don't make them stand up when something attack (I have a bunch of dragons (that are sitting))
Well, I have mo' creatures, pet bats, a few other things, and this, they go pretty well together.
Also, the aether is really good with this, too.
