Console Translocation [It Works 100% Now!] - #Doctober #DWCM #iMine4WHO Thread Last Updated 10/23/15
Doctober continues with another console related feature (I sense a pattern.) Today we use the TARDIS Console to successfully Translocate the TARDIS to specified coordinates!
Well, once again something has happened to derail #Doctober plans. Though this time it's a bit more drastic than strep throat. As some of you are aware, StargateChannel was hijacked and I am without access. Google is being absolutely uncooperative and sending round in circles chasing my own tail. But that's not what this thread is about, this is a Doctober thread so I am going to leave this off with: HEY! Subscribe to the new (hopefully temporary) StargateChannel by going to http://www.StargateChannel.net
Yeahhhh, I got the account back by some miracle involving random luck, a 10 year old flip phone & twelve dollars!!!! Full story to be posted soon. This video was originally scheduled to be released on October 7th...but yeah....its now October 23rd tomorrow is my birthdayyyyyy! Gonna be 22...and I have to work...boooo.
The Video pretty much explains everything that I could possibly need to say but just to reiterate for new people to the iKingsSGC Forums and the Doctor Who Client Mod/iKingsSGC community as a whole I will go through some of the basics.
Translocation is the process in which the TARDIS dematerializes and remateralizes from one point to another on a Planet/Dimension/Time Era. I won't go into detail about the Translocation System on this thread since you can check it out simply by heading to this forum thread linked below.
Basically, you can use the TARDIS Translocation System two ways. Through the Console as shown in todays Doctober NewsFLASH, or alternatively you can activate the Translocation input panel on the TARDIS Flight GUI by pressing T. In the future once the Medium and Advanced Interactive Console functions are implimented you will be able to manually control the translocation by imputing the coordinates by pieces on the console.
PS: The console room used in this video is NOT the Copper Console room. The name of it is the "Copper Inspired #1" .....just wanted to get that out there before anyone says "THAT ROOM ISN'T ACCURATE!"
That's all for this day of Doctober I hope you enjoyed! Important links are in the description box & at the bottom of the thread. Like comment subscribe, all that crap. Don't forget to go to the iKingsSGC Forums thead for this video and vote on the poll, Roll the outro!
Keep up with the Doctober festivities by checking in over at http://Doctober.iKingsSGC.com regularly. You never know what treats (or tricks) may be lurking about on the forums for the rest of Doctober!

I have to say I'm really impressed with your designs and it's obvious you're putting a lot of work into the mod. One suggestion though, I recommend not relying too much on guis. A lot of the fascination with the tardis especially, (for me) is the complexity of all the levers and buttons the doctor has to interact with to get a specific outcome. To me it feels like the use of a gui for everything zaps a little of the experience, and compromises too much in the name of simplicity. Though I admit I don't know how you plan to implement the features, I just hope it's as accurate an experience as possible even if it does have a bit of a learning curve.
I was trying to check this thread and forum as well, but the design of information pages is little bit too overloaded with content, so it is difficult to find something there.
Nope the mod has been in devolopment for 4 million years

*cough* read this *cough*
Now, as you may know the DWCM will eventually offer four ways of controlling the TARDIS from the console. GUI Control,
Simple Console Interaction, Medium Console Interaction and Advanced
Console Interaction. You will see GUI Control and Simple Console
Interaction in this video.
GUI Control aka TARDIS Flight GUI:
This is the easiest method of TARDIS travel and control. This method is
opened through an Interactive Modeled Console of your choosing that is
located in the TARDIS. Simply click the panel that opens the Flight GUI,
use the WASD keys and mouse to control where you fly. To travel to
another planet/time era simply open the World Selection GUI by pressing
the O key. To Translocate (coodinate based travel) press T.
Simple Console Interaction - This is what is seen in the bulk
majority of the video and it is the medium level of difficulty for
TARDIS Control. Each panel and attachment to the modeled console has a
programmable action that can control any TARDIS system. Each panel has a
corresponding sound effect that plays when clicked. Each piece such as
levers, buttons, bits and bobs can be animated. We wanted this level to
be simple but still require a bit of participation by the player beyond
pressing a key. This method of control is NOT limited to a single action
per panel or piece. We can and will add actions to any piece located on
any panel or location found on the console. This means that if there is
a button on a panel we can apply a specific action to that single
button or any other buttons found on that panel.
Medium Console Interaction: Eventually we plan to add another level
between Simple Console Interaction and Advanced that involves the same
simplified control concept as this level but with multi-click actions
that will require you to click multiple points to activate an action.
For example if you wanted to Translocate you would press buttons on the
translocation panel, that brings up the Coordinate Input menu, after you
type in your desired coordinates you will then have to pull down the
lever to initiate dematerialization. However for now you what we have
for Closed/Open Alpha is the Simple Console Interaction method which is
click on a panel/console element and it activates the TARDIS system that
corresponds to that panel.
Advanced Console Interaction - This will be the most difficult level of
TARDIS control which will require you to pay attention to what you are
doing, memorize the pieces & what they do and certain click
combonations to activate an action. Because only a small minority of
players would use this as their primary it is not a high priority and
will not be in the early days of Closed/Open Alpha.
Fabulous work team, loving the work and can't wait! It's a shame people in the community are becoming impatient for all the hard work everyone's putting in, if only there was someway we as a community could help (knew I should have learned Java over C ).
I was wondering if there would be a way to make TARDIS flight more cinematic. I love the way it looks with the HUD making it feel like we're driving from the inside, but will there be a way to have a toned down version (ie less or no static with less obtrusive HUD) to enjoy the landscapes as you fly through the world?
I have an idea! Instead of this thread and the one on your forum being spammed by people reporting bugs when the first public version comes out, bug reports should reported be in-game, or something.
And I have two questions...
Will you be able to have the doors open while the TARDIS is flying, so you could see the outside, or jump out?
And, will your TARDIS be bound to you only, so you could summon it and add permissions, for example, or would anyone just be able to control any TARDIS?
TARDIS Transmat System & MAP GUI [WIP] - #DWCM #iMine4WHO [NewsFLASH] Thread Last Updated: 11/2/15
Welcome to NewsFLASH people of the Tau'ri! NewsFLASH is what the name implies. News...in Flash. Normally I will try to introduce or show a feature, update, interesting bit of news about anything we do as quickly as possible. Short threads and short videos will let me show more content without needing to record audio for each and everyone.
In this NewsFLASH a Pig Hijacks the TARDIS...Yes, you heard that right! Let's go make some temporal bacon!
SO, Doctober 2015 was kind of a huge failure this year due to it being completely derailed by the hack and then getting the account back the last week of the month when I had absolutely no time to get anything prepared. Yeah, so...Doctober is over with a whimper but now normal videos can resume .......albeit without the festive mood I crave for all year. This video was recorded a month ago to the date but not edited till just this morning.
Anyways, NEW FEATURE REVEAL TIME!
In this NewsFLASH I debut a very WIP version of the TARDIS Transmat System & Map GUI for the very first time!
So yeah, many of you know that we have always had a plan to make navigating the MASSIVE bowels of the TARDIS in DWCM a breeze. If you are a long time supporter of the project you will have heard things about a Map system that will allow you to pick and choose a location in the TARDIS Interior and use the internal TARDIS transmat to teleport there. You will also have heard that there will be Transmat Stations built into the walls of the TARDIS Corridors that will display a live map view of the interior.
Well this heavy work in progress feature has these (kind of.) I cannot stress enough how early in development this feature is. Everything in this video is essentially placeholder for what the system will become. Models, textures, the GUI....all these things are currently going to be scrapped or heavily polished. The GUI for instance .....is basically dots laid out in the visual-less maps...but the dots correspond to the proper location in the interior. The MAP is going to blow you away...
Right, this is getting a bit long for a "QUICK" news story....so....just watch the video!

IkingsSGC Please don't criticize my Doctor Who Mod like u do to other mods
And....who are you? lol
On second thought, I don't really care. Your post was very clearly a "HEY Im going to do a random post but convineiently have my mod linked in signature so I can get attention from this very pointless post on another mod's thread!."
On second thought, I don't really care. Your post was very clearly a "HEY Im going to do a random post but convineiently have my mod linked in signature so I can get attention from this very pointless post on another mod's thread!."
Actually I didn't do that for that reason I said that because u always criticize other mods that are not yours
It clearly looks like our waiting for this fantastic mod more and more comes to end. Why can't annoying impatient people who want it NOW get a life and do something else instead of constant nagging over the net I wonder.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
The Doctor: This is Clara. Not my assistant. She's... er... some other word. Clara: I'm his carer. The Doctor: Yeah, my carer. She cares so I don't have to.

I'm not saying I'm not willing to wait but you can 't get mad at them and call them Impatient... It is taking a very long time...
So? This is very complex mod. They are practically rewriting all of the game and putting pieces together. Do you have any idea how much work it is? Obviously not. And they also have lives, this isn't work, but a hobby. People are acting like mod folks are supposed to abandon their lives, work and everything else and sit 24 hours/day doing this mod, and calling iKing liar, because he after a tones of stupid nagging gave them any release date (which he absolutely shouldn't doing for a bunch of ungrateful brats) and because of life he can't keep this date. "Impatient" is actually bad epithet for acting like this.
The Doctor: This is Clara. Not my assistant. She's... er... some other word. Clara: I'm his carer. The Doctor: Yeah, my carer. She cares so I don't have to.
I want the mod
Finally the 326th page
Are you being serious or did you just do that to get to 326? If you haven't looked at the iKingsSGC forum, then you may as well not post.
Good Day!
So true.
What do u mean?
and yes I'm being serious.
