Yay Iking! I can`t wait to play the Doctor Who Client Mod. I have learned a great deal about modding and still have things I need to learn. (Also about running a site and a server, but one day I will exactly what needs done. At least I have a free Wix site.)
Um......what? Huh....did I miss something in between the week since I last showed DWCM news.
Hmmm....its discontinued....drats. I must have missed that team memo in between the long discussion the other night about the final list of critical bugs that need to be fixed before release that Emir (the programmer) and I had!
LMAO. I just imagined, if that was in a video, it would have flashing text that said *SARCASM*.
Pleaaaaaaase Tell me I can download this, also dont reply to this on the thread because I will probably never use this account again It was a one time thing for something extremely important to me, I need this and I see that its been a year since someone posted so, I wasnt sure if it was out yet
Also is Trenzalore going to eventually be put into this, I'm pretty sure trenzazlore didnt get blown up or sucked into a black hole, so I mean it doesn't go against logic...
you could add the people of christmas, or the doctors grave, which ever way you want to go, either dead and desolate, or cheerful winter snowland
Well in atlauncher (I use for my modpack) Its hard to add mods that have their own launcher because I really just need a .jar folder so I can drop it in easy and it wont screw anything up.
If a software project had taken this long in a professional development environment, without any publicly available milestones, the devs would have been summarily fired and new, competent ones would have been hired.
Seriously, release something. Does not matter if it is not complete - the way this thing is going everyone will lose faith and go elsewhere - if they have not already.

If you're too mentally incompetent to patiently wait, LEAVE. Also, this is not their JOB, Professional Developers have this as there ONLY job, these people have lives outside of this, this doesn't PAY, it doesn't give them money to buy food, keep the lights on, etc. So, your statement is invalid, this is not a PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT, this is not their JOB. So, shut up and wait a little bit longer, it's due to release sometime this summer. So, live your life like you would if this did not exist, until it releases then play the living hell out of it. Also, MANY, MANY, people have the mental competence to wait for this modification to release. I'm happy with waiting, that means they have more time to optimize things, weed out glitches, and all around improve the mod. I will NEVER lose faith until they OFFICIALLY announce that work on this mod has been stopped. So, even if everyone else does, I will never lose faith. Wow, this post went all over the place. Well, whatever.
it isn't a joke. iKing and 2 other people (maybe not even) are doing the work of an entire crew. The wait will be long because of the very short staff. Very short. They have come a long way and an estimated time if you want one is probably another 2 years time. This is not official. It is an educated guess. And by that guess I say do other things until the awesomeness is released.
Seriously though with as long and as hard as the iKing and the possibly 2 other people have worked on this. I am surprised they are not burnt out mentally at the point of giving up.
To the crew of DWCM. You guys amaze me.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I have no life you say?
I'm a gamer! I have lots of Lives!

It's pretty much me and istein these days working on the features. and of course Fett and Will doing models (....sometimes) and, again, of course Connor our brilliant team musician.
It has been a difficult month. I got a full time job to...you know...pay for college and....eat (the act of chewing, swollowing and digesting in order to produce energy needed to live.)
I haven't yet been able to find a balance with personal life and my job, it kind of blends together right now and by the time I get home my ankle is killing me and I am just too mentally drained to do simple graphics, let alone edit videos & go through publishing.
I work about 8 hours (depending on how busy it is.) I get scheduled at random times of the day sometimes morning to afternoon, sometimes afternoon to night, sometimes in between. It's hard plotting out time to work on videos and writing threads when you already don't have enough time to fit simple things like cleaning your workspace or ....watching movies with the family.
Things are getting better though, I am acclimating to my new "existential state of being" and I do have videos recorded, one edited and ready to be published, several still needing to be edited.
The entire core team all have jobs now, its incredibly difficult to find time to dedicate to a project we do for fun and don't get paid money for. I love this project and will always be here and working on it. I am just going through an adjustment period right now. This is all new for me and I am still getting used to my responsibilities.
But yeah, it is coming this summer before the end of August. That much I can tell you. As for the next video....lets just say its Musically Creepy.
A Grim Symphony (In-Game DWCM Soundtrack) - #DWCM #iMine4WHO Thread Last Updated: 7/31/15
HOLY
CRAP! A NEW VIDEO?!?! What black magic is this! Today, we preview the
in game soundtrack for the very first time starting with....A Grim
Symphony!
What is going on people of the.....well I cant
use Tau'ri anymore because some people pointed out that some easily
confused folks thought I was saying Tarri....which...yeah *wink wink*.
*Bon Voyage Stargate Reference that summarized our community to
perfection, you served us well for 5 years. Till we meet again!*
Anyways!
We are back! WE AREEEEE BAAAAAAACKKKKK.....well technically I never
went...anywhere. I got a job...and that adjusting to life now that I
have a real job again has taken longer than I would have liked. I will
be posting a Doctor's Journal about that tonight or tomorrow but for
now, lets get into the "Daily" Report
A Grim Symphony:
As
you all know, the Doctor Who Client Mod has/will have completely
fleshed out planets that have their own story lines. Complete with a
unique set of mobs, buildings, quests and even planet specific
soundtrack music. In this video I am not only showing you the main theme
for the planet called The Grim but I am also showing off our soundtrack
music in game for the very first time, without any editing at all &
tied into the vanilla music system so you don't need to learn anything
new.
The Grim was envisioned as a very "Scooby Doo meets Harry
Potter meets Goosebumps meets Doctor Who" type planet. Our brilliant
team musician, Connor Hickling (subscribe to his channel in the link
below today's video), and I spent quite a few hours discussing exactly
what I felt was needed for this planets theme. This song was, in part, a
pain in the ass. For The Grim we didn't really have the luxury of a
simple, short theme one would expect to characterize something. We
needed it to be ambient (meaning environmental background music) so that
it could be infinitely loop-able as it is the song that plays
immediately after you step out of the TARDIS onto the planet. We needed
the song to be a perfect mixture of ambient and character themes. It
needed to maintain a constant suspense and iconic tune throughout the
entire track without letting the player feel comfortable. The result was
a 7 Minute and 45 seconds long planet theme that characterizes this
planet exactly how I had it in my head.
The incorporation of the Doctor Who theme into this track was just the icing on the cake.
A Word About Connor Hickling: Words
cannot describe how amazing it has been working with Connor on the
always increasing track list for the Doctor Who Client Mod Official
Soundtrack. I don't think there is another person on this planet who
understands and shares exactly what I feel about soundtrack music as a
whole. He is the perfect person to take on the musical needs for the
DWCM and I cannot wait till you hear more of what we have on the
soundtrack.... including the *HOLY CRAP AMAZING* DWCM Main Theme. Before
you all ask, there are currently no plans for release to the public
beyond in-game usage.
How it works in game:
This
is fairly simple. Every planet that has a musical number attached to
it, will play that music when you step out of the TARDIS. If you step
back into the TARDIS, the music stops and the TARDIS Hum plays (more
features about the TARDIS hum will come in the video that was supposed
to be published before this one *my bad*)
You can control the
volume through the normal minecraft music controls. It pauses when youre
in the menu....basically it works like minecraft music, except planet
specific and soon to be scenario activated.
A Grim Victory: What
you did not hear in this video was, of course, the complete track for A
Grim Symphony but in addition to that we have an alternative track that
is scenario specific. A Grim Victory will play when you are fighting
and attacking each individual boss mob in their buildings. When you
defeat the boss the conclusion of the song will play which is one of the
most amazing renditions of the Doctor Who Middle 8 I have ever heard.
Also,
ignore the broken Demonic Rocking Chairs.....they got messed up in the
head when they were brought up to the most recent version. *IGNORE THE
MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN!*

So, if what I'm reading is correctamindo, what is the timeframe for the release of open alpha? A week, two weeks, a month?
I AM NOT PRETENDING TO BE MATPAT!
I got bored and went through all 315 pages, responding to comments I didn't like, so, yeah, a bit late, but better late then never.

Hey IKing! In the final release of the DWCM or earlier, I dunno, will there be TARDIS Console room customization?
I AM NOT PRETENDING TO BE MATPAT!
I think this thread is going to die out cause nobody's posting
Apparently you underestimate the faith of DWCM fans. "Do not underestimate the power of the dark side."
