of course we all knew it was eventually going to be multiplayer, singleplayer is boring, even for a timelord with a irl tardis. The real question was (and frankly is) WHEN. Such a small, inconsequential word, "when" but so many implications. especially when you're a timetraveller.
PS: Speaking of timetraveling, I hope you will work with rather than against charsmud and his amazing team who are putting together a timetravelling mod. A real one btw.
PPS: I need to change my signature to a DWCM one. Will get on that soon. "Live long and prosper." Drako365

Lol well it's funny that you bring up Charsmud. He has actually been a member of the Mod Division for nearly a year and we are bringing TimeTraveler into the Mod Division family of modifications. It's not really something we have announced as I am still working on re-writing the thread and working on the thread graphics.
Yes that is right @edmiester777 and I will be doing a live Questions out of the [Police Box] sometime in the (hopefully) near future. It will start when we start it and probably end abruptly when my family gets home. Our original plan was to do it today however my family got home which creates two reasons why I cannot record videos or live stream. 1) It's extremely awkward 2) My dad works nights thus he sleeps during the day and to be yelling out answers 10 feet away from his bedroom door would be inconsiderate.
So yes, ask your questions and you will have a very good chance of getting them answered in the very first Questions Out of the [Police Box] to be live streamed!
Questions can involve anything about Mod Division projects or iKingsSGC servers. Please make sure that your question is not something obvious that could be answered by looking around the forums. Any questions regarding release dates will not be answered.
As this is a live stream it seems likely we will be answering submitted questions as well as questions coming in from the chatroom on youtube which means more questions can be answered! If you submit your question on this thread in the time leading up to the unknown day the live episode of "Questions" we will have time to prepare a in-depth answer so do that!
Doctor Who Client Mod Multiplayer [Redux] #DWCM #iMine4WHO #6Words
Thread Last Updated: 4/1/14
Today we show off a sneak peek of the first ever footage of Doctor Who Client Mod multiplayer gameplay, again!
Ok so because I posted the Doctor Who Client Mod Multiplayer Reveal on April Fools Day many people do not believe it and there was some confusion. I am remaking this video to clear up that confusion.
As you know a client mod is many things but typically they are not associated with the mystical element of Multiplayer. Long story short Doctor Who Client Mod will be multiplayer compatible when the first open beta version is released later this year!
I did not clarify this in the previous video so I will take the opportunity to do so now. The Multiplayer gameplay of the Doctor Who Client Mod will have the same content as the singleplayer story-sandbox hybrid. Due to the time limitations we are only going to be introducing the base of the storyline with the opening cutscene animation, backstory and laying the groundwork for what is to come in the second available version.
On launch there will be the official Doctor Who Client Mod Play Server as well as the DWCM Community Build server. One you play the content as you normally would and the other you can use DWCM resources to build things that could potentially wind up being included in the mod itself. We will not be blocking access to the LAN feature of multiplayer so you will indeed be able to play with your friends if you do not wish to interact with the overall community.
Another thing I need to point out is the fact that the images seen in this video are about a month outdated. They were taken on March 11th so there are some scaling and placement issues that have all been fixed on the latest version. Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to play multiplayer with anyone on the team as of yet due to conflicting schedules so all I have are these pictures @Giraffestock sent me.
What was it that brought Harriet Jones down? Oh yes, 6 words. Heres 6 words for you all who said it would never happen - Doctor Who Client Mod is Multiplayer! Eat your words all you naysayers, pessimists and haters.
Prepare for interplanetary travels with your friends because yeah.....this client mod is multiplayer!
Important links are in the outro, talk to you all in the next video....still need a catchphrase that doesn't make me seem like I am stepping out of an episode of Barney.

Sweet progress, but one thing that I want still is unconfirmed. Could there be a config file that has a TIME LORD section and a HUMAN section and you put the names of the person(people)'s names into it and on the server they will be that race. I want this because I want to have a Time lord and some human companions to add a nice little twist. Another thing is on the regeneration topic(if this was said I am sorry) when would the regeneration process start? When you have 1 heart,or none at all? Could your regenerations be interrupted, cause when I play I don't want to just start regenerating and be shot by a dalek. Thanks for reading and good luck, take all the time in the world to make this mod THE mod for Doctor Who fans.
Can You Release a beta please i've been waiting for this mod for ever even if its not done yet i want to play It looks so cool and the other Doctor Who mod (Dalek Mod) is not the best thing in the world
So if a Beta Version Could Come Out It Would Be Great The Mod Looks Amazing
I Understand if your worried people will lose there Minecraft files or something like that but if you do release Beta Just Make Sure you tell people to Download at there own Risk
Will the launcher work on mac. Have been dieing to ask. Thx for all the hard work you have been putting into this mod and a lot of people appreciate it.

Yup The Hub will absolutely work on Windows and Mac OS. Thanks for the support
are u also like gotta add doctors skin later (not actually want u to hurry up with the client mod, just need to know if u are adding new things to this mod, and dont worry i can be patient and the only time im impatient is losing my temper)
Today we are going to be discussing some of the Mod Division Utilities that we are making open source!
Before we get into the video topic please know that this thread was written by @Giraffestock with minor edits by myself @TheiKing.
During the long and hard transition to 1.5.2, which you can read about on the iKingsSGC Forums, the core Mod Division team working on the Doctor Who Client Mod @Giraffestock @TheiKing and @yofreke have been discussing continuously what we plan to do with what we have in terms of code. An API has always been planned and is being worked on in order for the DWCM to support Downloadable Content and Addons.
Currently, we have decided to release certain Mod Division utilities in the hopes to help the over all minecraft modding community. What this means is that some of our unique utilities will now be open-source for all developers to use, modify, and play with to their hearts delight.
Please subscribe to the StargateChannel by clicking the link below
The following is the current list of features that we are going to be offering open-source:
Command Center
The command center is a GUI for our debug console. It allows us to spawn mobs, change the time, pause the game, reload, etc. with the click of a button. The command center and the console are the same thing in terms of code with a different look. They are in sync with each other. It currently has a fairly basic look however we hope to customize it further in the future.
MD Dev Console
The console has more functionality then the command center but is text based. You type in a command, such as 'time day' and the time will be changed. It supports specific parameters and advanced options. An example of specific parameters is for spawning mobs. You can say 'spawn cow 33 23 1 1 1' which will spawn 33 cows with 23 health at the coordinates 1,1,1. Commands are automatically added to both the Command Center and Console and are easy to write. You can find examples of commands on the Git repository. I need to point out that this was before Mojang had added a similar system to the vanilla game itself however this is much more advanced and capable of things that the vanilla console system is not. In addition to the standard time and spawn stuff that you are all accustomed to the MD Console can be used to spawn schematics into your world among other cool features.
Model Viewer
The Model Viewer is an extension to the Command Center. You may have seen it in some videos; it renders models from the game in a 3D gui for viewing your models in game. It supports any models, whether they are for items, blocks, entities, etc. You can also render it inside custom GUI's for customization. Please understand that as the Model Viewer evolves into the In Game Modeler that aspect may not be bundled in as part of this open source package.
Thank you everyone for watching this video or reading this thread it was written by @Giraffestock. Talk to you all in the next video, Important Links & Credits are the outro talk to you all later.
I resisted but alas I succumbed to my compulsion to share with you these images three.
OK Fine....maybe there are a few more than three pictures. Not much to say in this post other than to have you look at the pictures. DWCM Massive Update....you know the drill.
The Weeping Angels are now on the 1.5.2 version of DWCM, there is still alot of work to be done on them to restore them to their accurate glory but hey.... given the schedules of Giraffe and Yof this is nice & I love me some progress!
I just wanted to post my support. I comprehend all the difficulties you are going through to make this mod.
I have a question: Obviously, new Minecraft versions keep coming out, and apparently you are only going to update to 1.6.4 and then start what is basically your own version system and, well, game. What about 1.7, 1.8, and when it comes around, 1.9?

Right so, the only real reason we are updating to 1.5.2 and 1.6.4 is so that we can take advantage of the newer forge versions. We do not care much about the actual game content and seeing as we don't need any of the new minecraft features/content we see no point in delaying our development by futher complicating things with 1.7 and 1.8 for the time being.
Being in college and having full time jobs to boot Giraffe and Yof do not have alot of time as it is, the 1.5.2 and 1.6.4 updates are already stressful enough due to the lack of time they have for mod programming. We hit a roadblock on 1.2.5 and we could not proceed any further without updating which was our main motivation for doing this. If we hit a roadblock in the future after release that requires us to update to a more recent version we may consider it then but right now we do not have any plans to do so.
The DWCM will only be installed and played from the iKingsSGC Hub officially which means that it is completely seperate from your minecraft installation. Our versions will be be/are based on a series of names that relate to a prominant feature of that version. Since we don't have to keep up to date with vanilla in order for people to always play our project we do not have to worry about such things as rushing out updates to new versions or crunching bug fixes into patches. We will always update DWCM with new content and DLC so it is not like there will not be a flow of new content .

Great mod!
This mod is my favourite mod of all time( Trust me - I have seen a LOT of mods. I created a private unofficial modpack for myself( private because getting all the permissions would take forever) which had over 60 mods and I had a list lined up of mods to add which I had thoroughly researched. This one isn't even out yet but has surpassed others dramatically. The only mod that has got close to the scale of yours is Galacticraft which is big but nowhere near as big a project as yours.)
I appreciate all the hard work you have put into this mod. I have recently started attempting to learn JavaScript and I am still at the stage of using print outputs such as " system.out.println("hello"); " and other simple stuff like 'while' which currently seems fairly complex. Looking at that compared to what your doing I can see the amount of effort you have had to put into this mod. It is as large as the whole of vanilla minecraft and you have only a handful of workers rather than the amount mojang have. Its going great so far and I hope to see the finished product.
Here are a few ideas for the mod that you COULD add to change the experience:
In vanilla they use "snapshots" with parts of the next update without the whole thing. I think it could be a good idea to put up these snapshots as an early download containing a completed section of the mod. E.g. you have finished work coding the sonic screwdrivers and release a snapshot containing that one part of the mod, in this case the sonic screwdrivers. This means people can try it out and get a taster of the mod without taking from the experience of the mod itself. It also is a little like a trailer so they can try it out, like it and download it when it is complete so you get more downloads when I it comes to the release.
I don't particularly love the idea of the complete menu overhaul as I have grown fond of the vanilla title screen. I'm not asking you to remove it but just to make a small hyperlink in the corner to switch between the client mod menu and the vanilla menu. This may not be possible but I would be glad if you added it. :-)
I fully appreciate all the hard work that has gone into making this mod and after 2 years development I hope it to be good ( but I'm sure it will be ). I also wish you luck on the harry potter client mod which I expect won't be released for a few years but I may be wrong. Looks great so far, keep up the great work and as they say... Allons-y!
Ele2000 - I may not be a time lord but it doesn't stop me making a difference

You can never have too many mods. Add them until it crashes. Then, after fixing the issue, add some more
of course we all knew it was eventually going to be multiplayer, singleplayer is boring, even for a timelord with a irl tardis. The real question was (and frankly is) WHEN. Such a small, inconsequential word, "when" but so many implications. especially when you're a timetraveller.
