English: This is going to make me sound like a hater but I think this would be a lot more complicated than the magic chest modification. Maybe you could do both modifications?
(Don't you just LOVE Google Translate?)
Oh, I hate google translator, but I hate people, who think they have to put everything in my native language, more. I mean, it is certainly an offense against me, because you indirectly say that my english is crappy, which is not true.
And no, I won't make Magic Chest AND NanoCraft. I said this before.
The AI GUI won't exist in different levels. There will be either plain code or GUI. It's almost impossible to wrap something complex and complicated into something uncomplex and easy, without losing much of the functionality.
If you go the plain code route, please make an extensive and detailed tutorial and help file for those of us who are stupid with coding. Accessibility is key to something like this. You probably already knew that, but being who I am I'm compelled to remind you anyway. :tongue.gif: (sorry)
The thing I can do is to allow the linkage of scripts or, to be more specific, scripts calling other scripts. You could then write your own script to invoke certain scripts - based on the status of the robot or the surrounding.
And this is a prime example of why I'm hoping for an extensive help/tutorial file. This sounds complicated and scary, and I'll need supreme amounts of help grasping it. :ohmy.gif:

Dude, your English is better than most of the Americans around here. I honestly wouldn't have guessed that this wasn't your first language until I looked at your location tag. Seriously, props. :biggrin.gif:

Of course I will write (a) tutorial(s) how to script for NanoCraft (but I have not decided which language I will use, yet). I hope, though, that the GUI editor is suitable for most of the simple tasks.

Thanks :wink.gif: At least my written english, I suppose ^^
You might have better luck using the Golem model with a retexture! (And smaller of course. Like little golem-y elves. That way you could keep the nanocraft name? Not sure... >.< )
You could have a bunch of golems that do your work for you. But I think you need to think of a way to make this mod balance out a bit, instead of being able to sit back and do nothing while they do all the work. Maybe, to get them, it's costly? Involves a golden apple or maybe diamonds or something?
I think this mod is gonna be awesome, i patiently await it's arrival. One thought, i am not a modder so i don't know how hard this would be but could it be possible for the mining bot to follow a text file for mining a certain way? EXAMPLE: North 10 blocks East 2 blocks South 10 blocks and so on. If it is not possible that's fine, it was just an idea i thought i'd offer.

I had more ideas but I've forgotten them XD
I am hard-set on doing robots, yes. This is the theme and everyone who does not like it is not forced to use NC :wink.gif:
And the cost thing is handled by the break mechanics explained above. Somewhere above :wink.gif:

That's exactly what scripts are supposed to do :tongue.gif:

The suggestion on something other than robots was simply so that you could use the existing golem model, and/or keep a "theme" in-line with what minecraft already has. Not that nanobots don't have a whole potential going for them, which their own theme could be created around as well.
Simply just a suggestion to ease the burden of having to make new models and such.
Ahhh I hadn't seen that post. My bad XD
Playing off what Autorun said, talking about the bots sending out coordinates and talking to eachother... Maybe you could implement a way for the bots to send messages to the chat screen that says their reports as well? Then you could be prepared with a new nanobot to replace the old one or something along those lines :]
I had a good suggestion but it's 1:30 in the morning and my brain is mush. Ugh.
um do you realize that nano are small android that is the size of a tiny tiny chip of a tiny wood(just in forming you)
I know but I figured that there has to be some way to see them when they're not working, right? Otherwise how would you find them?
When they're working I'd assume they'd create the same particles that are made when you punch a tree/block/etc, so you could see them.
Hmmm... we can think about huge colonies of nano-bots working toguether (has someone played Zone of the Enders? Metatron (the mineral) can be electrically organized, so you can control each particle and make them look like and work as the robot)
Oh that sounds awesome!
Maybe even have the nanobots not even be a visible mob, but they're just a "cloud" of electricity or something? Could use the default texture for when, say, a creeper gets hit by lightning. Then that lightning texture would be compatible with texture packs too :]
I'm a big advocate for texture pack compatibility, because if there's one thing that really, really turns me off from a mod is when I use my 512x HD texture pack, and I see a 16x block/mob/insertobjecthere.
Awesome Idea!!
making the bots as it is would be challenging but creating them so... generalized, it would be really impressive.
for my 2 cents, for energy you could have a recharging station and such for the bots but instead of them just stopping you could say they have enough power generation to move and "fly" and what not, but they would need to recharge after X actions and would just navigate back to the station for a moment before continuing on. Through in a furnace to create the ele (and a conversion mod for us IC users <,< ) and you would balance it well in my opinion

Its not completed, so you can't play with it ¬¬
And its in the correct section, the section of the incomplete mods
