I like the shape. Very naval inspired. And there is no restriction on what shape ships can conform to, so I'm not entirely sure what you are getting at, Doc.
No Fr0stbyte, there is something... not right about the ships. Don't get me wrong, they are awesome, but there are problems. If you look at the smaller ships, their shape is all wrong, they are bulbous and not streamlined (again, it is my opinion that the best looking ships are streamlined), the detail distracts you from this, making them look awesome (same with my smaller ships, if they were built using one kind of block, they would look hideous). On the larger ships, it seems to be the opposite: the shape is good, but if he used less details (the windows sticking out, the half block slabs used in excess [the ones used as points are fine]) the construction would be less messy.
Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about at all, maybe I'm just jealous. I don't know.
What I do know is that those ships are awesome, but as with all things, there is room for improvement.
Perhaps we should host a ship-building competition, and we can construct a ship using the best elements and ideas from submissions.
The prize for this competition would be... a rank as universal moderator on the Server Multiverse?
In ancient Greek mythology, ambrosia is sometimes the food or drink of the Greek gods (or demigods), often depicted as conferring ageless immortality upon whomever consumes it. It was brought to the gods in Olympus by doves, so it may have been thought of in the Homeric tradition as a kind of divine exhalation of the Earth.

Oh, this is for an Alien race? You playing for the Aliens Doc?
Then we Humans of Imperia, on the Home World of Imperiana and elsewhere, will simply call your race "Mincemeat", heh heh. :wink.gif:
Or perhaps Enoia.
Well, it's not really for aliens, it's just that the Doctor builds ships that look alien. Not human (usually blocky and utilitarian), because blocks are lame.

A signature? Where? Are you trying to make me look gullible again?
It seems to me (this is my opinion, you can disagree) that you have an excellent sense of detail, but not of the general shape. If I replaced all of the blocks of your ship with just one kind, for example iron, they would look horrible. But seeing as you have added so much rich detail to your ships, they are some of the best that I've seen.
To be fair, any ship made entirely out of the same kind of block will look hideous.
To follow my previous posts of futuristic starship schematics, I'm building several different kinds of ships with various sizes and purposes and once I've got like a dozen different ones I'll post a download link.
... I'm also having fun litterring the sky with them like a big awesome armada.
is it just me or does his ships look like the UNSC frigate, pelicans, etc... Just an observation.

And the UNSC Pelicans look like Ospreys, and their frigates look like naval warships with space engines, etc...
Strange coincidence, you'd think they took today's technology and adapted it to their futuristic scenario...
On a serious note, obviously I got some inspiration from Halo, but not exclusively, I pretty much take what I like from any and all science fiction that comes my way: Star Wars, Sins of a Solar Empire, Quake ( and Quake Wars ), the Killzone franchise, Pandorum, Chronicles of Riddick, Starcraft, etc...
The way I see it, there are two "winning" ship styles, the first is the one in my screenshot, the more industrial, utilitarian kind with sharp edges and points everywhere which inspire dread and fear in the hearts of the enemy. The other would be the style mentionned by Makeroth, the sleek, curvy alien kind, which inspires power, wisdom, might and technology.
Also, Pat: if you go onto the Futurecraft Forums, and ask to be allowed on (Fr0stbyte and I will make sure you will), you can start construction on your dreadnought.
In which section of the forum exactly should I be requesting access?
So in future craft, How are you going to represent being out of health? Is it going to be "Boom you explode" or is it going to be "Enemy shots now have permission to tear through the hull?" I believe that #2 would be "Better" Since it would make ship design much more important in surviving a space fight. Thicker Armour means it will take longer to expose you to space/for your reactor core to get blown to pieces once your generic health pool is depleted.

From what I gather it is going to be "Shots destroy what part of your ship they hit and until they hit vital parts (ie the engine/core) you can still keep going"
Closer. Shots will damage parts of your ship (destroy blocks). There will also be health, which is directly tied in to block damage. Total block: health = 10:1. Block damage: health damage = 1:1.

Does that make sense?
So you need to destroy 1 / 10th of the ship's blocks to cause it's health to be reduced to 0?
or is it the other way around? Each block grants you 10 HP but only takes away 1 when destroyed?

Ambrasia
(The central "a" "ra" is soft, like "ahh") [ Am-braw-zia ]
* I retain the right to use "Ambrasia" in any of my stories, novels or projects. :smile.gif:
- The Cubic Chunks Mod is back! Be a part of it's rebirth and Development.
-- Robinton's Mods: [ Mirror ] for some of his Mods incl Cubic Chunks Mod, due to DropBox broken links.

I made a slight change to Ambrosia to make it more of a Nation-like name: Ambrasia
(The central "a" "ra" is soft, like "ahh") [ Am-braw-zia ] or can be hard if you like.
It seemed to have appropriate symbolic overtones for a Future powerful yet enlightened Space-faring civilization.

Imperiana / Imperia
Suggestive of a slightly different governmental structure perhaps since they are derived from "Imperial", :wink.gif: but not necessarily.

Also, by Pelicans I think you're referring to Falcons. They have more of a dual-rotor design.
No no, the pelicans are the dropships used in Halo 1-2-3 and possibly the rest I haven't played them.
They are futuristic version of today's Osprey.
