I have seen some posts referring to stealth technology, and I would like to bring up a point that seems to have been missed. I think that stealth technology should be reserved for smaller, two to three man ships, not massive ships. Despite what StarWars has told us with "There's no way a ship that small could hold a cloaking device!" I think that, despite the massive power requirements of a stealth field generator, It would just become a ridiculous amount when put on a larger, capitol ship, unless you just intended to cloak the front or rear of your ship.
I also think that, if possible when customizing your capitol ship, some additions could be made to make a ship along the lines of the Imperial Interdictor class ships, again StarWars. A ship that would A. Jam any guided missile systems, but do nothing against lasers, and would prevent warp drives and stealth fields.
But that's just my two cents.
Oh, and I almost forgot the mention of currency. I feel that there should be tangible money, like the Imperial Coins that come in Industrial Craft, rather then something that we can't carry and hold, like iConomy. Also, each server should have it's own currency, or each empire, which may contain several servers, and then each server would have a planet-wide bank, which would have set amounts for currency exchange, allowing inter-planetary shopping.
guys just call it spacecraft and also can someone give me some news on when it will be out
We'll be releasing in installments, which besides getting it out sooner, will help gauge what aspects people are most interested in.
The first installment will probably be ships, and will be very nearly the same as what the Zeppelin mod is now. Then there will probably be space, then other planets and the ability to travel between them, then shipyards and fancy construction tools, then a PvP and PvE focus, and then more advanced module-based ship construction along with skills and some sort of market, and then more MMO-type gameplay. And that's just the main branch. There will be tons of new content along the way and never before seen effects thanks to the engine mods provided by the Copernicus Framework.
Damn, when you spell it all out this looks really intimidating.
Ectrimble's been hard at work on a server transference database, so we may actually have multi-world up before space.
Yes :smile.gif: After a vacation in Hamburg we drove like 13hrs to get home to Stockholm!(11am-1am minus stops on the way)
Pitiful. To get home from Bali (just two days ago) we left the resort at 2pm, and arrived home at 10'clock, the following morning. That's 20 hours, or 17 if you factor in the effects of time dilatation.
Yay! 23 pages!Seriously, did anyone see my previous Post?
Wow! I am so happy to see all this progress. Kudos to all involved!
Hi Doc! Good to see you back. And damn, those screen shots from the last page are incredible! In fact, that deep ship-rise bay reminded me of the moon-bay in the under-development indie film "Iron-Sky". Yes there is a connection; Indie software and content creation & Indie Film. :wink.gif:
* And for god sakes NO, I am not supporting Nazi's... It's just a film about them coming back to attack us, like 10 million other stories have done, but from a unique, thread-appropriate, direction.
