Ok. Inherently dangerous operations are common goings on in the server. So many interesting ideas as well. Interior design is definitively the coolest thing on smaller ships. Too many giant ships have almost no interiors though. Caustic materials are very common as a base hull element. Layers of iron is your best defense against lava. Anything less, and your ship may burn. Sitting in the bridge of a large assault ship, it seems as if its larger on the inside than the outside. Since my ship is almost too large, my next will be smaller. If its any consolation, giant ships of wool look really cool before they burn up. Freedom to build makes this awesome. If this post seems off, it is. Everything about it is special. Definitely not a riddle.
Good point, but I would love to stick on a ship rather than fly off whenever it moves.
The thing is that you wouldn't need to change anything to get normal gravity. The it would be harder to get no gravity in space rather than to get normal gravity. I'm saying that it is a cool Idea, but it should only be implemented into the mod after the basics have been accomplished.
Server Info I relise that many of you are frustrated at the lack of up-time on the server, and many have asked me (presumably) to go and look at something called server shopping.
Has anyone noticed that there are 4 people reading the topic: 2 are members, and 2 are guests? Then below that, where it has the list of members; it says: "Dr. Mackeroth, ckstuntman, Facebook".
Now normally, I wouldn't notice, except for several things:
- Only two members are on.
- The "Facebook" is a different colour (dark blue opposed to light blue, like the other users)
- When I tried to click on it (the word “Facebook), it doesn't do anything, unlike the other users.

What is this?
I have seen this before on other websites, just with Google. I think it might be special accounts, probably even bots, going through websites looking for statistics or something like that. I know an account called "Google" frequents forums and stuff and doesn't show up as a member. I have seen it on the forum for my old PSN group I was in.
Reason: I've wanted to build some space ships for a while, but I am terrible at designing things and my usual method of building it without a plan, seeing how it looks and changing it doesn't work so well with massive creations. I also want to help work on the replica of Destiny.
I have two questions:
1) what dose MOTD stand for?
2) how will I get the money?
1) Message of the Day
2) you should set up a paypal account that you will use to pay for the server
There are so many people that want this mod that if you could get Mackeroth to say in the OP that your server would be hosting the mod once it is available for testing and put in a donate link. If enough people see it, then you will get plenty of money.
When my friend and i used to run servers (we don't have one currently operating) we found that the best way to get donations would be to let the server be free, but make it more fun to play by paying. We would add incentives like price reductions on land and at the admin store (it was an economy server) and increased payment for working on the current server project. (we had a building which would be open to construct on when an admin was present, and we would use iconomy to pay them)
If you can figure out a way to do that with this server, you should have no trouble paying for it.
However, you will need to use your money to start up and over time you will eventually be able to pay yourself back, but that will only happen if the server is popular for a long time.
Dangit starrider, your responses are so thorough and well thought out! I hope that doesnt come off as sarcasm, you know how text and voice conflict, eh?

I think it was meant as "wow, you're posts are so amazing!"
Indeed it was!Today, I had an insane and momentous thought- Ringworlds, Halo style, complete with structures and ecosystems and the like. I sincerely wish I could impress upon all of you the importance, indeed, every minuscule facet regarding them. So many things I wish were possible, but upon further introspection, I realized a very very important thing: Blocks can no longer be square. At least, visually they can, but from a mathematical standpoint, they would have to be more a trapezoidal shape to account for the spherosity of planets. It is probably this that is going to cause me to embrace Java, and learn to mod. I'll probably need some help along the way, but I sincerely hope I would be able to assist the developers somehow.

My friend and I use this hosting service.
It is the good half of the remnants of Brohoster (the half that didn't get the guy that started all of the trouble in the first place)
It is cheap at $1 per person.
and most importantly, you can upload a custom .bin folder allowing this server to easily become the test server for the mod.
*edit* My friend and I uploaded a .bin with IndustrialCraft, BuildCraft, and RedPower
You would normally have to run this off of your computer to have all of the mods, but Phoenixerve will let you.

I have two questions:
1) what dose MOTD stand for?
2) how will I get the money?
hay smarts it wont be one singular person buying it, everyone will participate ( hopefully ) to some sort of fund.
But we all need to figure out how were going to do this first.
1) Message Of The Day
2) Volunteer for little jobs at school or around town
1) Message of the Day
2) you should set up a paypal account that you will use to pay for the server
