I'm not big on licenses. Do whatever you want with it, take donations/adfly, don't care. Just give credit.
It'll have it's own thread when the time comes. No need to work out all the details here.
If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 99% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 1% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.
Hi bik1230. Please be polite to other modders when representing FutureCraft, okay? Awesome.
I just looked at the Doctor Who mod. Not my cup of tea but you can absolutely use my Copernicus Engine for your Tardis if you want. For now, I suggest making a standard portal and we'll see who finishes first.
Planets are actually going to be cylindrical but get deformed to a sphere as you get into orbit. The arctic circles are a separate disk-shaped landmass. The seam between the two is hidden with polar storms (think gerudo valley from OoT), or heavy fog or sand depending on the planet.
Doc can think he convinced me to do spheres if he wants. :tongue.gif:
@KillerOfPie
You're a madman and a borderline masochist to think you can pull it off something that ambitious. We're gonna get along famously. :biggrin.gif:
I do believe that's everything. Fr0stbyte away!
*flies off*
Bik1230: That's all I'm going to say as well. Be polite: even on this topic, I found that you could be annoying at times. Seeing as I found little evidence of your "spamming", I'm not going to ask Ectrimble to put you on the mod black-list. For now.
And F0stbyte, I was the one who suggested that planets only like round from orbit. I thought that they were going to be flat on the ground though, as cylindrical still presents the same problem as with spheres: deep underground, blocks will need to take up less space. And the circle on top of the planet just makes no sense with cubes.
If worlds were flat on the ground, all you need to do is make it so that when a player gets close to one end of the planet, the terrain on the opposite side generates, which shouldn't be too hard, as that's what Copernicus is about, simultaneous generation. When the player steps on to this new terrain, they will be teleported to the other side. The effect: the world is a sphere (well, mathematically it would become a torus, but a sphere does the same job).
And in space, you just stretch the terrain over a sphere.

On the ground level, the world can't have any distortion whatsoever; it would show up immediately because everything is cubes. The spherical distortion is only a visual trick for distant viewing. Cylinders were the ideal choice because they have the most manageable seams.
I can try for full traversal through the center but it's one of the few things I'm not confident we can actually pull off.

hey u guys heres an idea...if you get world edit and do /sphere it will make a sphere...all you need to do is make it so it uses similar code to that when generating with a gravity well in the center and then u have a planet with its own gravity.....
you would also have to eliminate the top and bottom building limits of the world so that nice size planets can be made...
you should also eliminate the VOID.....
around each planet should be a dark area that can be built in and when you get far enough should not have air....
so around the planets(space) should consist of a dark area filled with planets with no haze(like the VOID has)...
if this is confusing...ill try and clear it up...but i just wrote what i was thinking so considering im a madman i might not be able to interpret it.....lol :blink.gif: :blink.gif: :blink.gif: :blink.gif: :blink.gif: :blink.gif: :blink.gif: :blink.gif: :blink.gif: :blink.gif:
I may need information from you. Developers, if you want (you don't have to of course) you can give me your email addresses to put on the "contact us" page on the site. Tell, if you are willing to provide me with the server address, please do so.
If Ectrimble and Fr0stbyte don't mind, I am going to put their development log posts from the forums onto the development log on the website, and Danice to, when he has something which I can add to it.
Also, for THE NEXT WEEK I shall be running a competition. Simply: build a ship that I can put in the header of the website. Currently I am using one of mine, as you an see, and it is squashed. Not a good look.
Submit ONE screenshot of your creation (doesn't have to be new).

And that is why I have talented modders working on my idea, and you are still stuck in the idea phase.
Capitalizing your first person pronouns is a good first step towards people taking your work seriously. Also start learning to code. A project leader ought to at least learn enough to know how his own mod works.

But you know it's still...never mind. Tired of repeating myself.
Don't worry about waiting. I'm sure it will be out any day now. :wink.gif:

Fr0stbyte, just a random thing:
You know how in your signature it says "Futurecraft master code-smith", well could you make "Futurecraft" link to the topic?

Alright, but I rarely venture out of this topic these days, so I doubt it will help much.
On the subject, what happened to your sig?
It'll have it's own thread when the time comes. No need to work out all the details here.
I don't no frost but I guess. Its a good mod if mack likes it

Ya, post a link to it or something.
