Poll: The name of that mod should be different from Ships&Boats and Ph
We have agreed with Eagle_Orion, creator of PhysicsCraft, and Shereis, to join forces to make a mod featuring physics from PhysicsCraft and also the rendering and block interaction facilities of Ships&Boats.
Please give me a few days. The code is under heavy changes, so as soon as I have a slightly stable version, I will release it.
Right now ship blocks do not have any functionality. I am looking thoroughly at MC source code to find a way to make every ship block work in the same way as a regular world block.
If you were able to get that working, that would be amazing, be able to have been in the ships while someone is controlling the ship, would be best if you somehow made it compatible with SMP

Well, this is quite different to the Zeppelin Mod, I don't know what people are talking about.
But I hope you will adds some interesting features, like winds, sailing and more. If you won't, I'll never download this just because you can create copies and the boat floats in the water: Zeppelin is awesome and I don't see the utility.

Anyway, siren what are your thoughts about the seating/control point of the ship? With that particular ship the player is floating in mid air, possibly you could add a block that defines the seat/control point for the ship. Or are you just planning to make the player able to walk around the ship like zeppelin?

In early versions of the mod, the player will have a fixed position within the ship, marked by a special block (a seat, a steering wheel or something like that). As for future version of the mod... I am doing heavy research on MC code to find a way to emulate the behavior of every block in a ship. That way the player would be able to move inside ship like Zeppelin, but also every block in the ship would be fully functional (e.g. chests, dispensers, jukebox, etc.) That would make the "ship experience" much more interesting.
Another planned feature is giving a little more realistic physics to the ship. For instance, if you use too heavy materials, the ship may sink. If you make the ship too tall it may tilt to the sides. And so on. I believe this feature would make ship building much more challenging.
When you get finish with mast to sail with winds, you could also make motors for more advanced ships and such, also consider the idea of making submarines with this XD.

Yep, that's exactly what I have in mind:
- Rows, for basic boats
- Sails and rudder, for wind-powered ships
- Motors (maybe coal-powered) for more advanced stuff
Submarines will be my next mod: Custom Submarine Creator :smile.gif:
