Poll: The name of that mod should be different from Ships&Boats and Ph
We have agreed with Eagle_Orion, creator of PhysicsCraft, and Shereis, to join forces to make a mod featuring physics from PhysicsCraft and also the rendering and block interaction facilities of Ships&Boats.
@Toddie1234: Lol, I know what you mean, but seriously, how many people understand how an engine works
Like I said, I just proposed it because it's the most simple way of propulsion, so I guess it would be best suited to calm down those who think engines aren't "Minecrafty" (Those are a lot, so we have to consider ! I myself do not care ) Also, it's simple design would prevent a bit of work for you ^^
Nice hull design btw But you should let those plates at the front overlap in the other direction ( from front to back, not from back to front)
Read through the list, would greatly appreciate it if you did normal smp support instead of bukkit when you get around to that, i'd rather you get the majority of the bugs worked out before smp work is considered a priority
Must say 5 stars, better than zeppelin mod in my opinion!
WAIT- Rainbow Dash? Man, you make Minecraft 20% cooler. This mod should be 20% cooler.

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!

I think LionsMane79 has a point. Personally, I tend to favor more "minecrafty" design. An engine that is more block-shaped will be more "minecrafty". Perhaps a steam-powered paddlewheel would be a good compromise between both ideas? (see https://getsatisfact..._watch_out_huge )
Anyway, the hull looks very nice, although it is not very "minecrafty" Such a streamlined hull would be nice for making a high-speed boat
Edit: One more advice about hulls. My plan is to use blocks to make medium-sized to large ships. Recipe-crafted model boats should be small. As such, the idea is that boat models should have only one floor (so ladders and stairs would be only for decoration). The reason for that is that it is technically much more difficult and tiresome to implement player' s movement within a model ship that it is for block-based ships.
Will see, but i have just one problem with techne, textures overlay O_o look:
How to fix it? It's impossible to make anything if the textures are all on top of each other '
Techne has an option that lets you change texture coordinates (I don't remember the exact name). That way you can move coordinates to another part of the texture image. Although, I think you will also have to change the texture image size to fit all of them.
I guess it should be possible. See http://code.google.com/p/mc-mods/wiki/ShipsAndBoatsConfiguration to see how to configure the mod to support bigger ships. The only drawback is that, the bigger the ship, the less FPS you get so you'd better have a fast computer to cope with such a big ship! :)BTW, I started to work on the 1.2.4 version. Stay tuned!
It never works :s but i really want to continue work on that ship.
By the way, could you maybe make a list of ships i should model (and texture),
to every ship add a photo or draw in paint how should it look like etc.
I would exatcly know what i am doing, what kind of ship, that would make my job
easier.
The idea is to model the following boats that appear in that link:
- Dinghy with sail
- Skiff
- Skiff with sail
- Another boat (with and without sail) from your imagination, as long as it has a "minecrafty" look and it is no more than 50% bigger than the Skiff
I do not need you to model those variants of the above with chests or furnaces, since I can add those blocks myself as needed.
Any suggestions about recipes to make all of the above are welcome
Aha! I figured out why Flan's plane mod doesn't work (this might make me sound retarded, but I am new to modding. Bear with me please). Flan's mod is still 1.1, but I tried downloading it for 1.2.3... How stupid can I get?
At the moment my friend is trying to test compatability between this mod and flans and SDK, but he has a problem. Whenever he makes the boat, it goes to the loading screen, and freezes at "saving chunks".

Heads up! 1.2.5 is coming out in the near future. Might want to start preparing, since a new ModAPI will be released.
Also, is there a link for the pre-release? I can't seem to find it anywhere...thanks in advance.
I will probably skip version 1.2.4, since 1.2.5 is going to be ready very soon and I will on vacations (and disconnected from Internet) from tomorrow until April 5th, so please be patient

as he said 2 posts up he just started working on it, can you please read some of the latest posts first next time (no offense, not trying to be rude)
No clue about that. Maybe if you ask at the Techne forum?
Actually I already sent you that info.
In previous posts I sent you this link: https://getsatisfaction.com/mojang/topics/boats_evolved_bigger_modular_boats_watch_out_huge

Dinghy with sail ( = Boat, =Stick,maybe Planks, =Wool)
Skiff ( as it is more or less only a "doubleboat" )
And accordingly, Skiff with sails :
Bigger boat with sail:
Sounds good to me
It make sense to me, and that makes the recipe a little more difficult
Please read the entire post. The instructions are there. Anyway, the current mod version works only with MC 1.2.3. I am working on the 1.2.4 version

Version 1.3 will have the Modding API, but only for servers.
I will probably skip version 1.2.4, since 1.2.5 is going to be ready very soon and I will on vacations (and disconnected from Internet) from tomorrow until April 5th, so please be patient
