Poll: The name of that mod should be different from Ships&Boats and Ph
We have agreed with Eagle_Orion, creator of PhysicsCraft, and Shereis, to join forces to make a mod featuring physics from PhysicsCraft and also the rendering and block interaction facilities of Ships&Boats.
Good luck to anyone that could try to make it work, I've given up any hopes about that wondeful mod, still fun to play with if you have a 1.2.5 instance somewhere, I keep them nicely in MultiMC.
As I said above I can give a try to update it to 1.5.2, please contact me in skype.
And don't forget to PM me on the forum so I will know if you want to be added to my contact list.

Let the thread stay open so when someone who is determined enough to build the mod from the source up can come here. I agree with you 100%. It's like he's trying to stifle even any discussion on the topic. He clearly has the thread subscribed waiting to pounce on anyone who comes near it.
On the other hand, the only way this is going to happen is if someone downloads the code from previous mentioned sources and sits down and starts hacking on it. No waiting for 'skype me' or 'I can try', nothing's coming of that. Then post back here when you've got something.

I wonder if someone could port the simple entity-based boats -- namely the dinghy and skiff -- and leave the multi-tile boats to other mods. I know about the Small Boats mod, but it really simulates yacht-level craft -- I just want a boat that's somewhere just above the Minecraft floating bathtub. =)

Anyone that want a similar mod, there is an awesome replacement that just is nearly the same, it was linked by zombiepig333, I've tested it out, it works fine and is updated regularly, just a note, don't leave anything in a chest on your boat if you want to quit, make sure the boat is joined to the world, because if you leave it like an entity, it will reset the content of the chest once you login again, perhaps it will be fixed soon.
Please tell me this mod is still in development. I will be honest this is probably my favorite mod that you can put into Minecraft. You got to bring this back man, 1.6 is coming out you think you could get it to come out then? I have one question too. I've done a 3 mod reviews of this on my YouTube channel and have gotten over 100,000 views and I'm a smaller channel. People love this mod and if it's still in development for a newer version of Minecraft I would love to make another video asking people to donate to you so you could make the mod for the newest version of Minecraft. I hope you're still active on the forums so we can discuss this more. All I wanted to really say I guess is that thousands of people LOVE your mod and it ashamed that there hasn't been a version released since 1.2.5. Please reply back and give us some new info!

That's another thing. This is a nice replacement and all but, the thing doesn't even let you walk on it. The thing that was cool and exciting about Ships and boats/Zeppelin mod was that you could walk around on it while it moves. I guess that's too much to ask.

Ugocraft has the colission detection pretty nicely done. Just, you can't move too fast.
I think you didn't read the OP, the mod author had to leave this work to someone else but since, no one seriously wanted (a bunch of kiddos did want to continue the work and port it to latest version but not any serious people did anything yet) There's a nice alternative Archimede Ships, not 100% the same and still not fully finished but you should check it out, I linked it in a post not so far in this thread.
Howdy fellas. A friend told me about this super awesome-looking mod. It's sad to hear the developer doesn't have time to work on it anymore. From the demo videos, it looks like the original developer was extremely talented. These kinds of mods are incredibly difficult to make.

Although this Ships and Boats mod sets the bar pretty high, I think the quality of my mod should at least be comparable to this one. There are physical buoyancy calculations, custom collision, etc. I'll be eventually be adding airships and submarines as well as surface ships.

Your work looks very promising Cuchaz, maybe you should try to team up with the maker of Archimedes Ship mod, I'm quite sure that 2 devs together with something similar in mind can get a pretty awesome badass mod out...
