zAdditionalPipes is not compatible with Minecraft 1.0.0 yet.
Buildcraft 3.0.x is only for Minecraft 1.0.0. Besides, you have your crossover mod there that wants BC 2.2.5. So yeah. Replace BC 3 with BC 2.2.5 and it might just work.
Actually im using the 3.0 for 1.8.1. so I doubt its that
EDIT: yea the mod is not compatible with that version of BC. Hope he gets back soon
Hey Holly, don't know if you know this, but BuildCraft 3.0 was an Alpha build that began before MineCraft 1.0 was even released. For example:
Here's a post from November 14 about a bug.
You'll notice SpaceToad himself posts in the thread.
If you want to get 3.0.1 for 1.8.1, go HERE. Then come back here with egg on your face and admit that you were incorrect.

Okay, thanks. Not sure where you came from but you can put your ass back in your pants now. Maybe you caught the attitude from having to deal with stupid crash questions in other threads, I dunno. It's not welcome here though.
Seeing how this is an open source project and Zeldo seems to have gone afk for the last three weeks ( I have him last updating on 11/23 is anyone willing to pick this up and move it into 1.0? maybe incorporate it into additional pipes?
It's not open source if it's for personal use only. The whole point of Open source is to cover these type of situations. If people just want to make money off of mods keep them closed.
Perhaps you misunderstand me? I just told you, that AP is not open source even though the source code is available. So: Though anyone with enough knowledge can port it for himself, he/she cannot release the port to the public.
no you don't understand me. That does not meet the definition of open source. That is a closed source release of code.
The indented, italicized sections below appear as annotations to the Open Source Definition (OSD) and are not a part of the OSD. A plain version of the OSD without annotations can be found here.
Introduction
Open source doesn't just mean access to the source code. The distribution terms of open-source software must comply with the following criteria:
1. Free Redistribution
The license shall not restrict any party from selling or giving away the software as a component of an aggregate software distribution containing programs from several different sources. The license shall not require a royalty or other fee for such sale.
There is more and you can retain intellectual rights to your code but it's NOT OPEN if you cannot use it as you wish. The whole point of open source is to encourage innovation and cover scenarios like this.

This.. I have a working copy of additional Pipes for MC1.0.0/BC2.2.7 and have sent a email to zeldo to see if I could post it here until he could get a port done. I have yet to get a email back from him concerning this. Until I can get his permission I can't post it :sad.gif:
I know (!) that what I quoted does not meet the definition of open source! (Am I speaking mandarin?)
But that is the license of Additional Pipes. Which means that Additional Pipes is not an open source project! Your post seemed to indicate you think it is.
(Lots of bolding going on, so I hope we are on the same page now.)
sure we are but he specifically said it's open source and then proceeds to disqualify it. I.E "Open source for personal use." It's like a chicken that is also a duck.
That may be. It's still against the license to publish since you can't misinterpret the part after "HOWEVER...". Whether the words "open source" are in there or not. (And the "source" is "open" even if not in the way OSD would like to define it.)
My point very simply is that in terms of legal ease words are important and using the term Open Source while not being Open Source is not the way to go. And may be legally questionable (Not a lawyer). If you want to retain full control of your code then there are plenty of ways to do that and not hop on the open source bandwagon.
Open Source = Community. Closed source does not. It is the same as working as a Scab in a Union shop. Your getting the good will of the community while not contributing to it. This is bad to me and I am fairly passionate about it.
It's great that people create great mods for the MC Community and it's nifty that you can make a paltry sum out of that effort. But please don't dress up and pretend to be one thing when your not.
Maybe you caught the attitude from having to deal with stupid crash questions in other threads, I dunno. It's not welcome here though.
Pretty much, I do apologize. Not so much the error reports as some of the smug gits who try to answer and don't know what they're talking about. Jut a little annoyed at the proliferation of misinformation and you were downrange. Mea Culpa.

Spoken like a gentleman. No hard feelings.
Yeah, I totally missed that version. No other way to spin it :smile.gif:

Actually,he said "Seem to be missing the open source part in that license..." In case the grammar eludes you, that means "there is no open source section in this license".

Good to know there isn't major issues in getting this ported if some people whom did not originally make the mod were able to do so... Now hopefully Zeldo will return from wherever he is and post an official update.
Anyways - Back to living without Teleport pipes for now!

Huh.
Okay, I missed that completely. Not sure how. Probably was too busy playing 1.8.1 :smile.gif:
Fair enough.

Unless someone who has never looked at his code writes another one yes.
Edit: or he releases his code under a true Open Source license. He is the only one that can do that.
