It a wonderfull mob!those testure and action of dragon it so real!!!
Actually I would like to request an epic dragon.
I have wonder why there haven't some Nether-spwan-only Dragon?
So I think of an aggressive dragon with a Epic size(Just like Dead Wing in WOW)and ability
Let's call the Nether-spwan-only Dragon as Lord of Nether (LN)
the following points are what will LN do/act:
-Lord of Nether will fly across player sight with an invisible speed when player first arrive to Nether
-LN randomly appare around player
-It will use fire ball attack(as alike as Ghast)with a lonf distance between LN and Player, and normal attack(like zombie)when it was close to player
-It randomly attack player and giveup attacking when player get too far from it
-It attack/chase(with a 80% of normal running/flying speed) player if player get too close to it and giveup attacking/chasing when player get too far from it
-Lord of Nether wouldn't get kill by player without a right item(or right way)
-It nullied damage from get in to lava, brunning, explosion, arrow and player's attack
-It wouldn't been tamed
-it not able to ride on
-When it been attacked, It will not giveup attacking/chasing(with full speed) player even when player get too far from it, but it will escape when it left not much health
-Will spwan 1~3 dragon egg(mob) on a dragon nest(block) which surrounded by fire at a high place when player first arrive to Nether
-When player right click the egg with empty hand, it can hold up the egg and move, but it will compelled player can't use any item or any action(but moving)
-It turn back to normal when player right click to the floor to put down the egg
-Once player hold up the egg, Lord of Nether will roar a frighten dragon roars and appare some where around player with anger(120% of attack ability and speed) and will not giveup killing/chasing player even player left Nether by go through the Nether gate or LN left not much health
-In anger, Lord of Nether will able to destory blocks(softer than iron block) with any attack from LN
-Once player put down the egg and run away or been kill at Nether by any reason or anything after player hold up an egg, LN will claim down his anger and stop chasing player and back to normal, dragon egg will back to the nest
-Dragon egg need to hatch in Nether with a long long time
-Dragon egg need to hatched by fire, just simply put down the egg on fire(or put on Frunace and hatch by heat from Frunace, may be)
-After hatched,you get a cute version, mini size of Lord of Nether and it tamed
-It will grow up to same size as like as blue/green dragon, also able to ride(or may be not grow at all)
-It will not grow up to an adult blue dragon size, also will not grow up to same size as like as Lord of Nether
-It nullied damaage from get in to lava, brunning, arrow, but explosionand and player's attack
-Player attacking with bow and arrow when ride on it, it will launch a fire ball(as like as ghast) where arrow hit

-added sounds! Spinosaurus sounds from JP3 worked perfectly
-Halved attack time from 100 ticks to 50 ticks, used to match sound
-tried again to fix the colliding, kinda works... since Im going to be changing it so that it does bomber runs Ill just focus on that

*Slower falling speed, right now it's ridiculously fast!
*A melee attack when on the ground to smash through blocks in its path.
*The ability for the dragon to switch between grounded and flying after it gets to that half-way point.

The point is, I find it kind of lame that once the dragon is on the ground, it can just fall in a hole and you can shoot arrows at it until it's dead. You should be forced to use projectiles for stage 1, and melee weapons for stage 2.
Also, more attacks for the dragon would be nice. Looking at the Skyrim trailer and then back to Minecraft's crappy combat makes it seem like a joke: you just flail your sword at the dragon, preventing it from attacking. Maybe the dragon can whip its tail at you, making your sword fly out of your hands.

Ideas taken note, falling speed will be slowed down and Im planning on making an animation for it to land, but im working on doing swoop attacks instead of flying to one spot
On your last point I changed Max spawn rate per chunk to 1 so if that works, only 1 per 64x64 should spawn.
with more attacks I totally understand, wanted to add a bite and tail whip, bite didnt work as I wanted So I deleted it, I might make the health REALLY high then remove the "knockback" it receives so that you cant keep swording it and it never hitting you
the problem is minecrafts melee combat is atrocious so I might make combat+ a requirement or something
again since Im the only person working on this mod (AI and animation wise at least) im working on one thing at a time and its taking a while so im planning on implimenting what you said as soon as I can

anyways, is this mod compatible with that one? id personally like to see a bunch more dragons in minecraft, and the two dragon mods are perfect! maybe you and the creator of that mod could work together and make a whole bunch of dragons?
Just google "Minecraft Techne" It'll bring you to a formum thread and you can download it from there ^^ It's easy to use but I'd look at some tutorials before using it first :biggrin.gif:
ok, instead of diamonds, it should drop dragon leather, which can be crafted into dragon leather armor. it also has a super rara chance to drop a dragonfire shard. combine four shards to make a dragonfire crystal, which has the durability of a diamond tool, and sets eternally burning fire on anything.
Hm... actually I think that if the lair idea could be added and followed through, You could make it rather than a 'common' but rare mob, a Rare Boss Mob. Maybe when you defeat the dragon, access would be granted to a 'treasury' of the dragon.

I made some Ice Dragon models, I've been thinking that they'd freeze you to death. They'd shoot out the same projectile as fire but with different texture, ice! Or maybe Water Dragons.

Do not lower the dragon fire breathing...instead make it harder so we'd be afraid of them...its a dragon for god sake...we cant fight it in normal ways...make only place we can hit em is the part below them..haha
With 1.8 around the corner, I'm pretty sure this mod would be so awesome trying to kill dragons with the charged bow! And it would be even more of a challenge since standing still charging the bow would be hard since the dragon is spitting fire at you!

instead of flying to one place, we now have... bomber runs!
the dragon will fly in a circle and blow fire or try to bite you when coming down, lots of fun! will also sometimes go back to one spot, then back to doing bomber runs, did my best to vary it up!

and id update this to 1.8 but Idk how to decompile without MCP so if anyone knows... let me know lol
