This is not the crashing I had with v0.12 (ModLoader). This version (v.4.1 ModLoader) doesn't crash, it just causes the game to stop working. Yes, it's the same map, and the same place as before. When I installed v0.4.1, I destroyed all the workers (they were all over the place, and it was easier to reset them this way), and then put about 10-15 back out. I then started clicking on them with dirt and smooth stone. Almost immediately the game began to run so slowly, that at first I thought it had completely locked up the computer.
Something else I've noticed, is when I reload my world (usually after a crash....), not all of the workers are associated to the beacon. They're yellow, but they don't have any blocks on their head. They run around (like "normal"), making them hard to click on, but they don't seem to be doing anything, and they don't "die" when I click the beacon while holding a stick.
If there's anything I can do to make it easier to track down these bugs, please let me know! I'd be more than happy to help in anyway that I can. Mouser X over and out.
maybe just give zip and send me your map over mediafire please? id like to see the problems first hand since your map seems to be riddled with examples, id appreciate the effort ^^

it *may* be a bit late but this is incompatible with the aether, both have a mob named "slider"

No problem. I've already created a backup, but it's in 7zip format (grab it here). I know WinRAR can open 7zip, so hopefully that's okay (I use 7zip instead of WinRAR these days). Also, this backup is from after I was using 0.12 (after a crash, if it's helpful), but before I installed/used 0.41. When you load this world, you should appear in a cavity of dirt and gravel (surrounded by stone, of course). There's a beacon with a chest right next to it, and there should be lots of workers running around. If your experience is identical to mine, you can/will click on the beacon, turning most of the robots blue (some will still be yellow, and run around though). Then you'd click the beacon with a stick in your hand and "reset/kill" the workers, and hunt down the rogue yellow ones. I'm fairly certain I did this while running 0.12, but I honestly can't remember for certain (so I might have been running 0.41 at the time).... If I was running 0.12, I would have quit Minecraft and installed 0.41 (and if I was already running 0.41, I would have kept playing. I just can't remember what I did there). Then I put about 10 workers back out, and started giving them assignments. I gave some dirt, and some smooth stone. I doubt I ever assigned them gravel, because Minecraft started going really really really slow before I got done handing out dirt assignments (though, I did still get some stone assigned). Hopefully this "walkthrough" of mine is useful....
I should warn you - there were ID conflicts from v0.41 (with a different mod) that I was unable to "peacefully" resolve, so I created a backup of my world (which is why I have this backup), so that I could change the IDs manually using MCedit. So, when you load this map, you may encounter ID troubles (the water/ocean is full of modded plants).... Hopefully not.... If you do, the mod is a ModLoader mod, and it's from Nandolnalts Coral Reef mod. It does not alter any base Minecraft classes, so it's completely a ModLoader mod. It should work alongside your Automaton mod just fine, as I've been playing with it without problems.
Also, it seems that delta7890 had a similar problem to me (I quote him below), so I might not be the only one having speed issues with Minecraft with your mod installed.
I'm having a similar issue, using the modloader version. Shortly after starting a map and doing some stuff, the game just begins to CHUG for no apparent reason. Very unusual. This happens about 30 seconds to a minute after beginning a session and only ceases if I close Minecraft.

I don't have the Aether mod installed. I was going to, but there were ID conflicts, and it wasn't worth it to me to fix them at that time.
Aninon: One last thing. I've been running 0.41 for a few hours, and it runs fine. Only when I use the workers does Minecraft crawl to a halt. I strongly suspect you changed their path finding (or something similar), and that whatever the new method is, it's killing my CPU, causing Minecraft to stop. Again, hopefully you find all this useful. If I can do anything else to help, I'd be happy to. Mouser X over and out.

Hey! Tried out the mod recently and really enjoyed it so I decided to make a video about it. I linked back to your page so hopefully you get some more d/ls! Check it out and hope you enjoy it. Part two coming soon!
as previously stated, you should add a robot that self replicates, but make it a wild mob, or a mob that you make, but has a chance to turn wild after so many replications. i would suggest replicators from stargate as a model :tongue.gif:

zomg! thanks so much, it's really rewarding to see people taking interest in my mod like this, frankily i'm quite surprised, especially since it's so incredibly buggy still XD

this already exists, i named him Bobby (god knows why) kill him, theres a random change he'll replicate, this is of course quite dangerous as it can easily replicate out of control if you keep killing them and you're unlucky, so do the next best thing and dump water on them, cant duplicate from a short circuit based death
the game crashes when i want them to dig up gravel it jst does the saving chunks screen then it goes black. but i like the sentry dog XD

How would I change the ID`s?
As in. Where is the config where I switch the ID`s?
Could be helpful. I second this.
