Superb mod! I was complaining to a friend about how restricting the current flight vehicle mods are just a couple days ago and he tossed this link at me. Absolutely amazing. I'm especially impressed with how smooth and usable it is so early on.
The day SMP support is is added is the day my server gets custom built zeppelins included in it.
Any idea how this will work the various Minecraft Forge mods or just MCForge itself?
I absolutely love the new update! And it works even better than I though, with chest being usable during flight, I thought that they would just now retain their contents! But I noticed a minor bug, which is that now you can destroy parts of your ship while flying it, but luckily it was a tiny low flying craft, so no harm done, but I can see that being potentially problematic. Also, a question I don't really want to test, is the zeppelin entity flammable, like mobs and such?

This is not a bug. It is a feature added in .8 or .9 update. And no, the blocks of the craft will not burn while active as a craft.
I tried manually installing this on my Mac, but I have no clue where to put all the files from the download. Can anyone help me?
download the mod and a modloader if u dont have something to open ur mod folder get the stuffit expander i havent had any problems with it. find the mod folder open it and click select both of the files and copy them then go to download/application support/minecraft then go into ur bin folder open ur minecraft jar with archive utility then u will have a new folder name the new folder minecraft.jar and get rid of the old 1 then open it up and paste the files u coypied then open a new finder and find the modloader foler open copy the itmes and paste it in minecraft.jar and u will be set..
The numberpad are just the default controls, you can change them in game or through your options.txt
I was thinking if he changed the way the controls worked it would be better. instead of speed up you need to hold it for it to move. so if you want to go fast you wont have to keep mashing buttons. or holding them to speed up. know what i mean?
I am experiencing a bug in which the world grid seams to be visible on the edges of blocks at times making the game look kind of ugly,especially water because the grid is displayed as pink for it.
Can you make it so that when it's flying every few (60 or so) seconds they y-rate reduces by 1?
Then if nobody is on board it will begin to descend on it's own.

Oh oops... Last update it seemed as though I couldn't destroy blocks, but this update I could, and there was no animation, and It seemed an odd feature so I assumed it was a bug, sorry, but thanks for the info!

I had the same question a while back. This mod doesn't change base classes it just adds the controller block and its ajoining code. Works fine with Forge. Been playing BTW, buildcraft, and redpower with the zeppelin mod since about build 7. Works great. Let me say that the zeppelin is the greatest for finding and transporting oil for your buildcraft quarry.

You haven't tried hard enough.
You can easily update it yourself to work with Aether, just change the control block id.
Ran into a nasty bug earlier, kept trying to take my airship back to my Aether home, but it kept disappearing under me and I had to repeatedly load a backup save. After a bit of experimentation, I discovered there was a 3252 block area around my home that the airship just couldn't enter without disappearing! Very frustrating. Eventually, I parked the airship just on the edge of the Bermuda square as I called it, rejoined it to the world, saved and backed up, and then got back in the ship. This time when I crossed the edge, the airship stayed and I was able to fly home finally.
There was another area before that that also kept 'deleting' my craft but it was easy to avoid so I kept out of it. I'll have to see if that is fixed as well, and whether any new or old Bermuda Squares pop up.
But yeah, backup saves every few minutes are very important, I lost 2 whole hours and 2 double chests worth of goodies when my airship vanished the first time today and I didn't have a recent save.
ok so i tried building a submarine and well, the water rose through the floor. so, oh yea and i forgot to mention HOW AMAZING YOUR MOD IS. but I dont know how you'd do it, but some way to stop water from going through the blocks. and torches should be picked up too. and the thingy can read glowstone, but it just goes dark. Is there a way so that whe it reads stuff it doesnt get rid of anything, like the glowiness of glowstone? or torches? or ladders? thanks for the mod

Thanks for that; just now decided to give it a go myself, and as you pointed out it's all working great. Currently have Millenaire, Zeppelin, and Better than Wolves with MCForge (messing about in SP with mods I don't normally use).
