I have seen many things already done like the musket(balkons weapon mod) and the windmills/waterwheels(BTW)
but I like the other ideas, so keep on going!

Tier 4: Solar Panels, Platinum, Titanium, Chromium, Pearls, Alloys (I bet I could help with that)
Tier 5: Plasma Shields, Lasers (1 Block), Spaceships (ask the led zepelin modder guy for a chuck of his code.) that are made just like any aesthetic ship just place blocks till your happy, Missile launcher (1 Block)
loving it! I saw a 3d chunk generation mod the other day, it adds more capabilities for "play" tools, like a tool that gets rid of all the stone in that chunk and leaves all ores. :laugh.gif:

Most of those tier 4 metals and such are added earlier, except Titanium, Alloys, and Solar Panels. Vanadium will also be added in Tier 4, but will have almost no use. However, in T5 Vanadium becomes very useful... (Go look up Vanadium on wikipedia, then think about what it could be used for)

My 3D chunking is going to be quite different than Robinton's. It will also be adding more height variation (Mountains as tall as 512 blocks above sea level, Seas as deep as 128 blocks, more valuable ores are found FAR deeper underground, chunks with high ore concentrations of a certain ore spawn in "veins" (So you would find a group of 10ish iron chunks, which have 5x the amount of iron or a normal chunk) But it will still have 16x16x16 chunks.
Wait I gots an idea particle energy generated by mysterious component (very mysterious substance found deeeep in a planet other that earth.
It will simply be found in Deep Space. Other planet's won't be added until I get to multiworld stuff. Which will probably be after I've finished everything already in the OP.

News! Whelp, the other project failed. Ruby exploded. Stuff borked. I stopped working on it. Also, with the arrival of 1.8, I've decided to restart work on the cubic chunking! Because I kinda have to! Due to 1.8's new chunking system, I have to restart my work on cubic chunks. Oh well, now I get to implement all the cool new terrain features. And make them a ton bigger and better. Also, I have decided to later release the 3d Chunks separately as a MinecraftForge patch, including hooks into it. And I have also decided to edit 1.9's towns/NPC's to slowly increase in the tiers! And get bigger while they're at it. So they begin in tier 1, and slowly advance to tier 6. Be aware that at tier 5/6, they will probably 1shot you if you have no armor. Anyways, there's still a lot to be done with this (Like waiting for MCP to update to 1.8)

Also in musket balls there was no gun power in the actual balls, you put the gunpowder in the gun and you put the ball on top of that and the gunpowder made the musket ball move. maybe you could make it so every 5 shots of the musket or so uses 1 gunpowder, Possibly?

I hope you realize that the further in the game you get, you get way more materials for the same timeframe. In T6, you should get materials about 32x faster than in T1. It's a quadratic scale. T1=1x, T2=2x, T3=4x, T4=8x, T5=16x, T6=32x. So each tier doubles the gathering speed of the previous one. Also, since most parts of this are already created by other modders, I was planning to create a core system, then ask other modders to provide modified versions of their mods to fit in with the generic tier/resource scaling system. But everything would be made as an addon, but some addons could possibly be required for others, and parts of the addons would most likely be added into the core due to the fact that they would be required for Tier advancement or some other reason.

WOW ummm...how should i put this....this mod is amazing but its going to take at least 1 YEAR to finish...BTW are you a very good modder?? Becuase a mod THIS BIG is going to need more than one people to finish.

and consider another way to implement the tier system, increasing the size of the crafting grid seems ridiculous, how about adding more ores ?
