These are my first mods. I will take requests if I like them. :smile.gif: Feedback is greatly appreciated!
Anyway, this will basically be a bunch of simple mods that don't do a LOT, but change the game just a bit in some cool/useful ways. :biggrin.gif:
The #/#/# at the top of each is the types of gameplay that it alters/adds. In the form of
Game altering/New Items/New Recipes
Green mods are the ones that are done. :smile.gif:
1/0/2
This one basically makes the beginning of the game a little bit more difficult. Basically, it removes the ability to punch through Logs/planks/wooden items(Including workbenches, chests, etc). On top of that, saplings can be crafted into sticks. 1 sapling = 2 sticks. Then, four sticks in a square make a plank. (This will make you lose two sticks, since 1 plank = 2 sticks) These recipes allow you to be able to craft an axe so you don't have to punch through logs. Alterations: Removes punching through logs/wood. Can only break with an axe! New Items: New recipes:1 sapling = 2 sticks, 4 sticks = 1 plank
Auto planting 1/0/0
Either on collision with the ground, or randomly while sitting on the floor, seeds and saplings will plant themselves. Saplings should be about 1 in 5(So 1 plants itself, and four others sit there long enough that they just despawn) and seeds should be about 1 in 2. Alterations: Seeds/saplings will SOMETIMES plant themselves. New items: New Recipes:
3/4/1
Flowers randomly 'throw out' seeds(Which will usually plant themselves; see auto planting) these seeds will grow into new flowers of the same type after a time! (Perhaps the same amount of time as 1-3 wheat cycles?) The seeds can possibly just be a 1x1 black pixel in the center of the block?
Also, flowers will wilt upon being trampled or by a lack of sunlight. The wilted flower can be crafted into Black Dye, which is NOT an Ink Sac, but initially does the same thing.
Lastly, flowers will occasionally drop 0-2 seeds instead of their regular flower self. (This should be slightly rare. Sometimes dropping nothing at all, thus losing the flower, and sometimes dropping 2 seeds, allowing you to plant more.) Alterations: Flowers spread, wilt, and sometimes drop seeds instead of a flower. (Need to greatly reduce flower growth/death rate. New items: Red seed, yellow seed, wilted flower, and black dye. New Recipes: Wilted flower = Black dye
1/1/1
A rare blue rose will occasionally grow by itself. This blue rose can be crafted into Lapis Lazuli. (Hopefully it can abide by the rules posted above with the Interesting Flowers and Auto-planting seeds) An extra addition with this plant, is that if you hold it in your inventory for too long(1 MC day?) it will wilt and become a dead flower. Alterations: Wilts in inventory. New Items: Blue Rose. New Recipes: Blue Rose = Lapis Lazuli
1/0/0 Alterations:Sleep restores 2 hearts. New Items: New Recipes:
Growing grass! 1/0/0
Placing a block of dirt on top of wet, tilled, soil with a seed on it will instead place a grass block. Alterations: Grows grass on soil. New Items: New Recipes:
1/0/0
Been done a million times, but never kept. Basically, when leaves would normally drop saplings upon withering, they instead drop an apple(10% chance) or even a golden apple! (0.1% chance) Alterations:Leaves drop apples. New Items: New Recipes:
Incubators! 0/1/1
This may be a slightly harder mod to do, but basically, adds a craftable incubator. The incubator is placed on the ground, and an egg can be placed on/in it. After a few Minecraft days, the egg hatches into a chicken! Perhaps have it be a 1 in 2 chance, either chicken or the egg just disappears. This changes the impossibility of stalking chickens to get their eggs and having to wait 5-10 minutes for them to lay an egg, only to throw it in hopes of getting another chicken and the egg simply breaking... Alterations: New Items:Incubator which hatches eggs much more commonly than throwing them. New Recipes:Incubator-
0/1/1
Adds the ability to craft gunpowder using flint(Found in gravel), salt(Found in sand), and coal/charcoal. Alterations: New Items: Salt, found in sand, is slightly more rare than flint. New Recipes: =
= Salt
Shapeless recipe.
1/0/0
Items that are submerged in water will now float to the surface! Now also available: Only wooden items float!
Bugs: *Upon reaching the surface, they will fidget around quickly. This isn't extreme, nor is it an actual problem, but it is a little annoying.
*Items thrown onto the water will not sink then float, they will simply hit the top of the water as if on land. Alterations: Makes items float! New Items: New Recipes:
Screenshots are not available yet. :biggrin.gif:
Simple, but DANGEROUS mods
These add some extra danger(FUN!) to the game, without changing it too much.
1/0/0
When dying, instead of respawning with full health, you will instead respawn with low health, depending on your difficulty.
3 hearts on Easy.
2 hearts on Normal.
1 heart on Hard. Alterations: Respawn with low health New Items: New Recipes:
Aw! I died. :sad.gif:
0/1/1
Adds a craftable grenade(Or throwable TNT) to the game. Crafted with 1 gunpowder, 2 sticks, and 2 string. Has an explosive power of 2 (Half of TNT) or 1 (1/4 of TNT). Alterations: New Items: Grenade. New Recipes:
1/0/0
If possible, have this toggle-able before creating a world(Optional). Basically, spawns TNT throughout the world to make mining a little more interesting. It is as common as coal, but consistent throughout all layers, and only found in deposits of 1-3. Alterations: Spawns TNT underground. New Items: New Recipes:
1/0/0
This makes creepers slightly more devastating and dangerous. Especially in forests or near wooden homes! Instead of just exploding, the creeper explosion should create fire (Like the Ghast-blast) randomly completely throughout it's little hole of destruction. Probably 3-5 little fires?A LOT of fire!!! Alterations: Creepers explosions start fires! New Items: New Recipes: New Pictures coming soon!
// Alterations: New Items: New Recipes:
And, of course, I would LOVE to hear your ideas and feedback. If I like them, I'll add them to the post and possibly make them. :biggrin.gif: I also appreciate any help with the mods that are incomplete/red. If they are not done, I am probably stuck on them. :tongue.gif:
*Open your Minecraft.jar from inside your bin folder.
*Drag all the .class files (And the Simplicity folder, if you are using a mod that adds any textures) from the mod you downloaded, as well as ModLoader's files on top of the class files already inside.
*Delete the Meta-Inf folder
*Close the Minecraft.jar, and run Minecraft.exe
*Enjoy! :biggrin.gif:
Kasraspider, sure, I'll work on that right now. :smile.gif:
Draktonius, it's my own. About 1/4 of the textures are from various texture packs (Flowers are Painterly; chest, buckets, and a few other items are from a Zelda pack; then a couple I can't remember), 1/2 of the textures I made myself, and the rest are the vanilla Minecraft graphics. :smile.gif:

In the post, I've included which files alter which mods. If you want only a specific mod, only use the .class files which are listed. Keep in mind, they aren't completely separate. For example, the hi.class is the Crafting recipes, and has ALL the recipes in it. It shouldn't make much of a difference, except Rejuvenating Sleep and Injured Respawn are the same class, and thus they cannot be separated. If you want me to upload the individual mods I can do that too, but I won't unless that's what people are wanting. :tongue.gif:

Should I make this Modloader compatible, or leave it like this?
If I should make it modloader compatible, can anybody point me in the right direction on how to convert mods to modloader capability? I looked at some tutorials, but they only explain how to create very basic mods for modloader. Not any more advanced ones or changing from one to the other...
Also, are there any suggestions for other mods to add to this? Anything you would like to see?

The Realistic Trees mod sounds excellent! Wish I had known about it when I started my second world ever a couple days ago... I don't see myself starting another new world for many hours.
But when I do, this will be awesome.

I really like the format you posted your mods in. It's very clean, organized, and says everything that people need to know about your mods, in about the order of importance. If you decide to make other mod-thread starters, please keep to that format because it's wonderful. :smile.gif:
I don't download mods often, mostly because of the hassle of updating, but with how your post is organized (i really do love it. XD) i think i might try out a few of them. :smile.gif:
Thanks a lot Fulvor! It's great to hear that you like it! I will definitely keep this style. It helps me while I'm modding to keep track of what needs to be done and what I've already accomplished too. :smile.gif:
EDIT:
Also, are there any other mods that people would like to see that are similar to these ones listed?
I didn't know it was any different on a Mac? I'm pretty sure you use the same mods. It's just a different installation process.
I'm currently working on a larger more in-depth mod that adds a lot of stuff. It's still on the underground, but let's just say it's most likely going to be adding 3-5 new portals/worlds.

Firstly let me congratulate you on having the sense to have separate downloads for your mods. I've been looking for a tree mod that doesn't reward you for punching trees. It fits in so well with my 2x2 hand pick and hatchet that is made from sticks and flint. Most of your mods are very useful and although I won't be using most of them due to the fact other mods i use already incorporate those functions, eg: respawning with reduced health, I will be trialing your tree mod as well as the flowers mod and the rare blue one too as I just like the idea of coming across one in my travels.
Well done. I'll post again after i find out if they will work with my other mods...

YES YES YES! You really should make your mods modloader compatible because so many mods now use it that there won't be many people out there not using modloader. I just installed your tree mod and it won't load because i am using modloader with my other mods. Its a shame as I really wanted this mod to work with my other mods.
Ahh well, guess I'll just bookmark and hope you make it modloader compatible sometime soon.
Cheers...........
EDIT: I've just installed a new minecraft and only put your tree mod in it and left the META.INF folder in tact and it didn't load. Then I deleted the META.INF folder and it still didn't load. I re-instated the META.INF folder and replaced the 3 vanilla .class files and it sprang back to life.
Not sure if there's anything else i can do to make this mod spring to life but as it doesn't work with and without Modloader I'm afraid I'm just going to have to go back to ignoring punching trees instead.
As stated earlier, I'll look in from time to time to see if you've made it modloader compatible. Hopefully then it will work for me.
