Right well they might not be according to the suggestion, and might not even be Nether mobs. The Glutton likely will be but definitely not the Troll, and maybe the Salamander. Just remember, the mobs created are inspired by and based off the original suggestions, not direct reflections of them. We need to keep balance, fluidity, and consistency with all the mobs added.
Yeah I don't expect you guys to follow Grey and My versions of YOUR monsters.
But our versions aren't all that different. We suggested a "lasso" ability for the Salamander, and... actually I think that's just about all the changes we made to FireHazurd's mobs...
Yeah the Troll wasn't envisioned as a "Nether" mob, but in our opinion it fits quite nicely.
Either way, I'm anxious to see form proof of concept videos. Once the Modding permissions is released I'm going to try my hand at implementing the New Nether, and I do not want to touch mobs (outside of AI)... I just hate fiddling with models.
*edit*
Nice to see you back Hazurd.
There's quite a few things Grey and I would like your concept art skills on. XD
-bounces around the thread, awaiting the mod release!! Hehe!- Seriously though, I can't wait to see how this works on single player. Will there be options for it to be used on Multi too in the future? I know several servers that could use some awesome creatures like this to enhance their playtime!
I'm only able to get on for a short time, but I've been reworking the Troll (as the original had several flaws, as well as a bit of sketchy code -- especially if we eventually want a possibility for SMP compatibility). It looks like release will likely not be until the end of the weekend.
I know this is not realesed yet but here are just some of my ideas:
Aligators:
These look a lot like salamanders except they have a longer snout. They spawn in shallow water or on beaches. They drop 1-3 aligator hide which is used to make a satchel. They are a yellow-green color. They also do 2 hearts of damage.
King Aligator:
These spawn very rarely but when they do the also spawn with 1-3 aligators with them. all nearby aligators will follow the king and fight ANY nearby mobs to the death. THAT INCLUDES YOU! Come prepared when about to face a Aligator King. They are bigger than normal aligators and are a dark green color, they drop 1 raw porkchop (eaten pig), 1 bone and 3 aligator hide, they do 3.5 hearts of damage.
Sea Turtle
The sea turtle comes in big and small sizes and swim around gracefully eating squid. The large sea turtle drops 2-3 carapace peices for making armor with the durability between iron and leather when you kill it, it has 20 hearts of health. The small one on the other hand, when you right click it you pick it up as a item in your inventory and if you use this crafting recipe:
= water bucket
= small sea turtle
= bowl
and put it in the furnace you get sea turtle stew which heals 8 hearts because sea turtles are very rare.
Lynxs spawn in forests and taigas and are the first territorial mob. It has a 5 block territory radius around it, and if you step 2 blocks into it it will stop moving, turn towards you and hiss at you. Step one more block in and it attacks! It is 25% faster than the player and can outrun you easily! Watch out! It does 2 hearts of damage and is pretty rare. I'm not sure what it should drop, they have 15 hearts of health.
Cheetah:
Cheetahs spawn in savvanah biomes only and are neutral, except when you touch their cubs! Go anywhere near the cheetah cubs and all cheetahs in the area will attack! They spawn in groups of up to 5. The cool thing about them is that you can tame their kittens (if you're stealthy of course) and turn them into loyal companions! You tame a kittem by feeding one two peices of raw pork, then you must increase its trust and happiness, you can see this by right clicking your cheetah. Trust starts at zero and go's up to 200 as soon as your cheetahs trust go's up to 100 it levels up into a juivenile cheetah that is stronger, and when it is up to 200 it levels up into a adult cheetah that is even faster and stronger. Cheetahs gain trust by: you feding them, you making them fight monsters (but with you helping) and healing them when they are hurt. Now happiness is by feeding your pet and making them fight animals (by themselves), this makes them less likely to turn on you (this happens when trust reaches 10 and happiness reaches 0). Cheetahs have 12 hearts of health and i'm not sure what they drop.
Ive always loved this mod ^^
You are doing a great job :smile.gif:

My question though is, do you plan on adding in the Gremlin? Because that was my personal favorite of your ideas and would love to see it a reality.
@paganmother Just doing my own thing.

As far as I know, they don't use mcp. they code in abfuscated.
Can't wait for the mod. If only I were as good as you guys.
We use mcp. not obfuscated.
Also, it probably would have had to wait until the weekend anyhow.

Satchel is crafted like:
= aligator hide also

A 32x32 texture pack that keeps faithful to the original textures, items, and gui.
I'm gonna be featuring it in a video as soon as it comes out !!!!!!!!!!!!!
's to you good sirs!
