So, it would be a glove that can collect radiation, this way the player would be able to make a radiation farm.

The glove should be able to collect the radiation only with both the radiation vessels empty(each one can hold 5 radiation) and the only way to empty a vessel with security is by right clicking with the glove in a special block: the radiation state changer

The state changer:
The radiation that is collected is in the gas state, and can be released
But with the state changer is possible to transfor the gas into a solid or a liquid
Each one of the states can be used for various purposes that later on will be chosen
well aside from terrain gen we're trying to develop smelting, blacksmithing, and mining. We need to have a skill completely planned out before releasing it. Update a skill would be tricky.

not really, its that its just kind of needed. The Mining skill is needed to mine certain ores. Smelting is used to make bars of metal and alloys. blacksmithing has to do with actually using those bars to make things like armor. Its really a fundamental skill. I imagine we'll have base skills and specialization skills. Everyone gets every base skill while you can only choose about 3 specialization skills (in SMP, in SSP they get everything).

um, radiation is a wave (like a gamma wave). so.. collecting it is kind of impossible.

but i really like these ore ideas,also,i think its just what the devs needed (because they are working on blocks and terrain gen)
it didn't get denied we had just finished working out how we wanted those ores to work if we add them. they will probably work very similarly to how he described them.
Haven't made anything distributable, mainly just adjustments to how a couple things look (Making paintings more modern, Bows and arrows into guns, torches into lightbulbs, etc.)

no no no I say i used an invisibility field, and was asking if he thought i had come out of a closet i also didn't say which closet i came out of or when or where this closet was if i came out of one in the first place;)
When you say mining, do you mean mining like Minecraft

skills will not be related or trainable to the regular minecraft world in any way. The only way to level or practice will be in the wastelands.
mining:at certain levels you will be able to extract ore successfully from mineral's and stone. Without knowing what ores you can extract of course, the only information you'll have about skills will be from the books you may or may not have in your inventory at the time and the only way to know if you have the right level is experimentation. so you might end up destroying a bunch of minerals you need until you find out the required level. Which is great because then you can sell the book you have (filled with nice juicy) information to a player or librarian. or get killed...
smithing: same deal as mining. you have the ore, you need to be a certain level to smelt it correctly. same book deal as well.
blacksmithing if you have a bar you need to know how to make it and into whatever. books come in handy.

I would not be surprised to see libraries pop up in cities due to an expected dependency on books.
Uh no i am not homosexual, but everything else of course and don't forget time traveling with dimensional shifting added in. I had to use a closet to store my traveling machines cause the police box model was already taken. i could have used a car but that was taken too. and the train that was claimed as well.
