I think that for most modders of big mods skipping 1.9 althoghether would be a wise desicion, you can use your spare time to mod (if you get any XD) to switch into minecraft forge. the terrain indixes thing there would realy help you a lot.
Steamcraft seems to crash before i get to the title screen. Please help.

I don't have the time to juggle another texture pack. I already have my DokiDoki and Glimmar's Steampunk to manage for this mod.
As for the Wiki, I do want to go through and fix it up, but that's a lot of work, and I don't have the time. I would be very grateful for anyone to create the pages requires, and put some information up.
Split the pack up (or find a way to use a config file to disable certain blocks), so if you don't want the new electric stuff (and their respective ores), you don't have to use them.
But if all you want is Tea, the firearms, Obsidian Tools, Slate Tiles and Drills, you won't get your terrain.png and your items.png cluttered up with stuff you'll never use.
P.S Would it be too much to ask for you to think of a way to add Milk and Sugar to tea?
Splitting the pack up like that would be almost as much work as porting to Forge, so I might as well do that.

I fixed the lighting bug with half blocks. I found that the problem was not with my code, but with Notch's. Notch has set up half blocks and stairs incorrectly, so that they have this black block on top of them with smooth lighting off. I fixed the slabs while also removing the need for one more of the base class files. It seems only 2 are needed now, however, you should still be able to continue playing the mod without using a fresh jar.
Could you please do this in the future with error logs and code snippets and such? Also, Proloe, thanks for the info, but you didn't tell me how to add the textures to my game...You do this by putting "(spoiler)" and "(/spoiler)" in front and behind your error log, but changing the parentheses to brackets.

But I have an idea for the nuclear reactor: when it gets to hot you said it would explode, so why don't you put in like a 30 block radius of radiation so that if you go in that area you start to get hurt over time. Also how do you craft bullets for the guns.
@Keto888, just treat your texture pack zip as a minecraft.jar. Make sure the image files have the same name, and are in the same location as the files in the minecraft.jar. I believe Steamcraft has files in the following folders:

and the majority of the images are in the sprites folder.

The firearms don't use "bullets" as such, since they are modelled after muskets, and other 19th century weapons, which used balls of solid lead (here substituted by Iron Ingots) instead of bullets. To craft the cartridges, you use an Iron Ingot, Gunpowder and Paper on top of each other. If you have a Percussion weapon, you will also need Percussion Caps, which are crafted with Paper, Gunpowder and a Brass Ingot on top of each other.

I fixed it, but I'll leave that a day or two to update, in case anything new pops up.
EDIT: Urgh, just found another one. Diamond Ore is mineable with a Drill, and it shouldn't be.

EDIT: On closer inspection, I haven't fixed it, and I've now broken the Slate Tiles.
