Please update it because i really want to try it out!
Please read the thread. "I can't update it before MCP updates."
...Is what I would have said yesterday. As it happens, I stumbled upon a pre-release for MCP 121, which has allowed me to start the updating process much earlier than I would have otherwise been able to.
I'm actually done with it. Prepare for Steamcraft v0.1! Available for 1.4_01 and 1.5_01!

Now I've heard that the test version of mcp isn't compatible with modloader, but once the released version is out is modloader compatibility on the docket?

I have absolutely no idea! I don't use ModLoader. That's why I need you fine people: to do all the testing I can't with my setup. If it turns out it doesn't work with ModLoader, then I may well convert to a version that does, yes.
It's a beautifully well-worked project. I find it absolutely stunning, especially for a first mod! This should be ranked up with Nether Update, Ores+, Industrial Craft, and Minecraft Revamped! It's scary to think that you have been doing this all by yourself (I assume).

I have been. It's a lot of work, but I am a perfectionist. If something isn't more or less exactly how I want it, it won't do. I also have a tendency to just jump into the deep end, so to speak. Run before you can walk. I find I get more done that way. It also helps that I've been learning C based coding for what must be around 7 years now. I have a really good idea of how to read around the code and find out what it does, even if I don't know straight off. I can't say it's easy though, some of these features have taken several weeks just to consider how to make them work, and lets not get started on the planned ones...
On another note, the mod just hit 600 downloads! Keep it coming people!
Saw your post in the Aether thread and was intrigued by the "Steamcraft" banner in your sig.
Will be watching this mod develop, and will probably grab it when a decent sprite limit breaker is made (Running IndustrialCraft now, and love it too much to part with it, and with adding your mod I'll surely break the sprite limit).
I feel stupid to only have ModLoader installed and STILL have installed this incorrectly. That's a shame, I'd have liked to have some fun with this mod. As long as I've been using mods, I can;t believe I got this wrong. ._.

It's likely that this mod is incompatible with many other mods. It doesn't use ModLoader, so incompatibilities are very common. It is also possible that, since the 1.5_01 update, it is now incompatible with ModLoader itself.
There's a specific little thing that Risu packages with his Modloader called grassfix or something, and it looks like that's what is conflicting in the above case. Not sure if it will work without the grassfix, but worth a try I suppose.
Hai. Love your mod. But when I use it, it makes every single ore block drop 1-5 ores, rather than normal 1. I tried it with everything and it does this with: Coal, Iron, Gold and Diamond. So basically all the defaults. I have no other mods installed right now, so please tell me how to fix it >.<
hey, I really love the SteamCraft pack you made, and I really think for your first mod, you did a very good job, but do you know if its possible to make an INVEdit for this? I noticed that ToomanyItems is not compatible with this, and the regular INVEdit is compatible, but does not have the SteamCraft Items. I was wondering if you would like me to make folder with the files you need to put into the INVEdit folder to make it work with steamcraft. If I do, all I want is a little credit. PM me if you want it.
Thanks,
HEROBR1N3

Just to add to the list of the incompatibles, The Piston mod and the Toomanyitems INVedit Mod don't work with it.
Very cool mod, and very well done. I was having that same error as Phaseus above, won't repost it since it's the same in terms of error message.
I looked through the files and found that modloader and steamcraft both use the cn.class and xl.class files, so I'm guessing that's where the problem is. Another mod I had, finiteliquids v2 uses a wv.class, so I'm guessing it's not compatible, but it needs modloader anyways, so it's not the issue here, I don't think.
Good work on the project; it's going o look amazing when finished.
This mod looks amazing. While you have added a lot of things that have already been suggested, you don`t lose points(lol) for that. Actualy, i`m glad to see that someone implemented those ideas in a way that fit in with the regular minecraft theme. Plus, with the amount of suggestions people have put out, it would be hard to make a completely original mod.
Back on topic, I like the improvements you have made to the redstone system, and the obsidian tools were well thought out. The only things i am worried about are the durability of etherium (though i have thought about it myself, and I don`t know if there is any good ways to add another tier above diamond) and the amount of ores you are adding. It may just be me, but i tend to ignore mods that add 6-7 new ores to the game just for 4-5 specific items. Not this one though! Ill be sure to download it as soon as it comes out.

I get bored of them quite quickly. I was going to use Azusa, but I decided this would be a better alternative.

Also, I've PM'd a moderator to move this into the Released Mods section, since I feel it has enough content now.

In the download file is a .png that shows you most of the new recipes.
