sigh, once again having problems with minecraft. Am patching and modding both this an BTW. If I don't put the files on the mod folder then it works fine until I get into a world and then get the saving chunk and black screen (no surprise there) but when I put the file it doesn't even show the Mojang logo. It stays in a black screen and then exits out on it's own.
edit: never mind just realized that BTW is a bit outdated for 1.7.3. Going to try to see it if works with just steamcraft.
yep turns out the problem was on BTW side, that will teach me to skim the tittle when I just saw 1.7. Just glad I figured it out and didn't waste anyone's time.
Etherium no longer has 2x strength of Diamond. It is now the same strength of Diamond, but the material is rarer.
As for older worlds, they should still be Steamcraft even if you've opened them in Vanilla, but any new blocks in the world (including ores) may have vanished.
There's a problem the light bulb and the shears have the same item id is there any way to change that with some kind of property file (couldn't find it)
I've had a bug reported. Do not try destroying the Steam Furnace or Nuclear Reactor. It will crash the game. I think I know what's wrong, but I can't fix it until I get home, so for now, don't misplace them.

Why not? It's so rare that you're unlikely to make more than a pickaxe with any certainty, and you still have the possibility of death, which, obviously, means you can lose it. It's not as game-breaking as it sounds.
Did you have any blocks from other mods that you don't have installed anymore? Proper error reports are also helpful, as we can't do anything if we don't know the problem.
Have you ever tried -finding- Volucite?! That s**t is rare! On top of being rare, when you do find some (to my knowledge) it's at most 2 gems in one place. Hoorah, you can now make an unbreakable sword, but if you want anything truly worthwhile and unbreakable, you REALLY have to work your ass off. It quite easily deserves being unbreakable. It really isn't all that 'game ruining' to have unbreakables. If rebuilding a tool is really that important to Minecraft Steamcraft I don't think it'd have as many players as it does.
Besides that, glad to see the mod updated to 1.7! Looking forward to going back to my steampunk house on the lake with the room full of Uranium and Nuclear Furnaces, my poor character has to be riddled with radiation poisoning by now. (If it weren't for my impenetrable, unbreakable Volucite armor! Sorry, had to rub Volucite in some more.)
Edit: I should post this on the wiki, but I'm not entirely sure if I can, so I'll post it here first, excuse my laziness if you would. Under the compatibility it reads Steamcraft isn't compatible with Risugami's Shelves, but I have them on my world, loaded it up with Steamcraft, works fine. I even put some items on it, and they appear perfectly. This something new with 1.7.3? (I'm also only running 1.7.2, maybe a beneficial glitch?)

The error occurred a lot in the 1.6 version if ModLoader was not correctly installed.
Ensure you have the correct version of ModLoader, and that both Steamcraft and ModLoader are correctly installed. There are some tutorial videos floating around Youtube if you're not sure. (Use the 1.6 tutorials)
As for Painterly support, I personally don't like the Painterly pack, and I find the noisy look rather ugly. This makes it very difficult to actually adapt graphics from Painterly, since I would constantly be wanting to improve the style.
Didn't see the screenshots section in the spoiler tag then, huh?

Ruin the game more please.

Still shouldn't last forever.

Maybe something that will re-direct the flow of water? If that is even possible... it may not be. Idk, just a thought.
