Sorry to be a bother, but my game keeps crashing every time I try mine stone, brick, or anything else that isn't like sand or dirt. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mod, but it doesn't work. >__> And the way it crashes is weird. I'll click the object and it'll go like it's saving, then the screen will turn black. Again, sorry if I'm bothering you.
Hello, I'm really new at mods and editing things not meant to be edited in the first place xD I was wondering: do already created worlds generate the new blocks or will I have to create the new world? And where can I find the recipe sheet?
Thank you, and I'm really excited to try everything out! ((This is my first SUCCESSFUL mod, Mo'Creatures wasn't updated to my version, apparently xD))
Not sure if it's a glitch in the game or in the mod itself but I'm also unable to get the lamps to work. I've tried completely wiping my .minecraft folder and installing everything from scratch and they still don't turn on. Case in point:
The only mod aside from SteamCraft that's running is TooManyItems since my main joy in minecraft is simply building. Some input on what could cause this and how to fix it would be nice as I like the idea of of having lamps I can flip on and off with a switch.
A small suggestion is to see about adding compatibility with the Better Blocks mod. or at least incorporating Kalin_magnus Idea of allowing wire to be run across floors and ceiling. Hanging lights would add a more steam/industrial punk feel and being able to keep wire off the ground and potentially out of sight is always nice.
A polite warning: I work tech support for a living. If your asking for help I'll do my best to help. If your asking for help and the answer has been given a dozen times already, I assume your an Idiot. Is it fair- probably not.

Sounds like something has been installed incorrectly. Most likely either the mod_Steamcraft.zip or the class files for the minecraft.jar.

You will have to create a new world, and the recipe sheet is in the download in the Cheat Sheets folder.

That's because you're wiring them up incorrectly. You need to connect them as though connecting a Redstone Torch. You need to put the lamp on a block and then run the wire to the block, not the lamp.

I'm not sure it isn't already compatible, but with ID conflicts. That being said, I do have plans for chandeliers, and the Tesla Coils are very handy at keeping wiring out of sight, since they can transmit through blocks (you can put the transmitter in the floor and the receiver in the ceiling and wire it up that way). I do also plan to include Gears, which can be placed on walls, and work similarly to wiring, but require a block to transmit between the two types of power.
when i press e to get to the screen where u can equip armor and craft certain stuff it says saving chunks and then the screen goes black and minecraft still works for me but the screen is black and i cant see a thing how do i fix it and i also have toomanyitems installed and when i install modloader my minecraft game stops working when i go to play the game
Im using this mod and having lot of fun with it, however I would love if there were more interactive parts but I guess it might come as it goes.
A question though, can't we turn Lamp Block on and off? Currently I have a setup in my mushroom room, where I use lamps instead wired so I can turn on light in there when I want to harvest. :smile.gif:
And a suggestion for next update, please add text to the cheat sheet, would make it easier to locate what you are looking for. :smile.gif: And new sounds would of course be nice as well, so the steamanimals shoulds a bit more metallic.
Well, I don't have any steam animals in there yet. All in good time.
I plan to make the Lamp Block turn off when given power in the next version. Text on the cheat sheet is also a good idea. Thanks!
yo dude may i help you make a original texture pack your choice but good work on this alterd 1 take some gold and diamonghttp://static.minecraftforum.net/public/style_emoticons/default/diamond.pnghttp://static.minecraftforum.net/public/style_emoticons/default/gold.pnghttp://static.minecraftforum.net/public/style_emoticons/default/diamond.pnghttp://static.minecraftforum.net/public/style_emoticons/default/gold.png
Ah yes, I was mixing Glimmar Pack and your mod together, because I have only played it with those two, and the animals are machines. :smile.gif:
Any plans for having some more interactive blocks, like floodgates, maybe some airblowers that can blow dropped items up, to the sides? could imagine that could be useful for mob traps, so you can move the loot faster then water, and also move it upwards.
Fans are an interesting one.
There is a special version of Glimmar's Texture Pack for Steamcraft that you can find in his thread if you scroll down a bit. It's got a few changes made to the original terrain and items, which is why it's needed.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it will add to already saved worlds, but I personally created a new world for each of the two mods I use. I would suggest you do the same just to be safe.

The mod will WORK for already saved worlds, but no new ores will generate unless you explore new chunks. The game already has a map of the world in it's memory, and that includes underground and the location of all the ores.

Ah. But still I personally created a new world called Steam world that I specifically use your mod on, And I created another new world for the Humans+ mod as well. I figured Better to use a new world than risk crashing the one I put so much time into ya know?
And off topic again. These exams you're taking are for entrance into college? Kinda like our SATs here in the states?

I'm not sure how it works in the US, but I don't think it's quite like that.
I'm going on to University later this year, provided I receive the necessary grades in my upcoming exams, which are A-Levels. With a bit of luck, I'll be going to Cambridge University, which is generally regarded as one of the best Universities in the world (It's usually rated alongside or even above Harvard and Yale in the US, for a comparison)

Already have. Inverters and Diodes serve that purpose.

I forgot to add it to the crafting sheet! :laugh.gif:
It's done like this:
= Inverter
= Copper Wire
= Smooth Stone
= Quartz

Well, I tried deleting the .minecraft folder, and then reinstalling everything, but it's doing the same thing :lI figured it out. >->

And now it's working.
I don't know what to say.
I think minecraft is running on unpredictable unicorn wishes because its behavior has changed ._.
Edit: Playing it, I see that this is the mod I thought it would be! Good job.
No, great job!
