Since 1.5 is delayed until next week, I'm starting to make a few edits. I'm leaving the 1.4 version as-is, and I'm working on updating the 1.4_01 version.
So far Lamp Blocks, Brass Blocks and craftable Glowstone Dust have been introduced. More to come soon.
Hey, just a small suggestion. It's mostly just something that may help a bit, really. In the recipe picture that comes with the mod, you have the fuels that can be used in the chemical furnace. It goes Sulfur, Phosphate, Copper, and what I assume is Glowstone? Anyway, I did a little test and the phosphate smelts around 3.6666667 times more than the Sulfur, and the Sulfur smelts about 1.5 times as much as the purified Copper. I haven't had a chance to test the last one, but I just wanted to suggest that the order in the recipes.jpeg match the order at which they burn.

I'm gonna be messing with these fuels and the amount they burn in the next version. I'll do that, though. Thanks for the suggestion.
So, now I have a question. In the recipes.jpeg, you have another type of ore that looks radioactive and I'm assuming is Plutonium or something along those lines. Is there a special way to get that or is it just rare?
EDIT: Ah. Never mind. I found some. Fell into lava trying to get it and lost my Etherium pickaxe.

It's Uranium. It's quite rare, but is the only fuel for a Nuclear Furnace.

I figured as much. Oddly enough, the rarity isn't an issue for me. My problem is the fact that the only times I found it, it's been covered in lava. I've also only found six Etherium crystals and I lost three of those with the pickaxe.

That's just bad luck, to be honest. I purposefully made these quite rare, to make the new furnaces all have some sort of use, rather than everyone immediately upgrading to the "best" one.
this is amazing, especially for being 0.01. wow. I will get this when it comes out for sure! it's like industrialcraft, but less complication and less feeling like a chore. This is like an expansion.
Don't mean to rain on your parade, but Industrial Craft is the same thing except 100 times better. Check it out, maybe you two can work together.
I have seen IndustrialCraft. This is not going to end up the same thing at all. IndustrialCraft has some good ideas, but in my opinion takes it too far, ending up too far away from the original Minecraft. My mod is attempting to create a Minecraft that feels like Steam Punk, and allows crafting to reflect that.
Also take into account that this is VERSION 0.0.1. IT IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BEING FINISHED. IndustrialCraft has had a lot more time to develop, and there are going to be similarities in some areas, it just so happens that these similarities were mostly made first.
So far I like your mod.
But some things need a little attention: sulphur ore has an incredibly long mining time compared to its usefullnes, copper is too rare or maybe i'm just unlucky, what is the porpoise of those steam tools ? since eternium ones are far better(my sugestion is to make them mine as fast or faster than eternium ones but be brakeble), what are goggles for? (maybe allowing to see in the dark, or maybe add a miner's helmet recipe), and finally pls do something to arrows and/or bows.
I'm working on improving the ore situation. Copper has already been made more common, and Brimstone should be easier to mine now.
As for the Steam Tools, by that logic, what's the point of Stone Tools? Diamond is better! They are simply an intermediate step. I may make them even more powerful than Etherium Tools, but with a short life span.
Goggles at the moment are just armour. That is a place holder. I plan to make them either increase the brightness of everything (so that you can see better with less light) or to make them display mob HP. A Miner's Helmet is also planned.
Instead of working with bows, I plan to add Flintlock Guns, and possibly Crossbows, for more varied ranged combat.
Thats not what i ment, i was reffering to the huge amount of resources needed to make them and in the SteamPunk spirit they are mechanical tools wich should have an advantage over hand-held ones ...Other than that thanks for the quick reply and i'm already anxious to see the new stuff :biggrin.gif:
Yeah, I hear you.
The resources required will be much more common in the later version. I may well make them more powerful, possibly not better than Etherium, but we'll see. I do want people to have an incentive to use these.
Why can't I find the lamp blocks image in the terrain.png? Am I blind or something.. If I'm not, and it's not in there, could you please give that to me so I can use it as my glowstone texture? Thanks.

It's not there because the update hasn't been released for download yet. Only the features in blue on the list in the first post are actually in the current version.
Aside from that: NEW UPDATE. Check the first post again.
Ah, well at least it's working now!
Yep! And I almost forgot to say, this mod is awesome. Seriously, good job.
?
Still safe. >:smile.gif:
