Also, Will the labyrinths be full of traps everywhere? Not everyone plays on the dificulty levels (I'm guilty of this, Goddamn creepers. Skeletons are a close second, but, guh, creepers.)
There are traps, yes. I try not to make them unfair, though.
This isn't really a mod to be playing on peaceful, however, as I'm definitely designing everything with at least normal difficulty in mind. Playing on peaceful will despawn bosses and may break the labyrinth, making the player unable to retrieve the Artifact tool within.

"break the labyrinth" meaning what exactly? Also, i'm assuming turning the difficulty back to normal will make labyrinths "unbroken", correct? It would be terrible to accidentally change your difficulty for a moment and then have all labyrinths permanently unable to be looted.

It will break as in it will be unbeatable. This was a common problem with the battle tower mod. If you turned the difficulty to peaceful at any point then all the golems at the top of loaded towers would disappear and not return if you changed the difficulty back.

adiosToreador is correct. It is unfortunate but that's the way Peaceful works. We might somehow have a way to make bosses appear even on Peaceful, but be aware that if we do discover a way to do that, we will be doing the same for all unique mobs, including thieves.
Fire Frog, hops around spreading fire, possibly with a flaming tongue that sucks mobs in.
Cinderbat, a flaming cliffracer/bat that perches upside down until distrubed, at which point it will screech and start flying around, burning anything it touches.
Black Stage:
Stalker, some sort of disturbing creature which clambers around on walls, keeping as much in the darkness and under cover as possible, and makes little sound, following the player around. It waits for at least five minutes before striking when the player is exposed.
Gold Stage:
Not really sure what this labyrinth contains. Any info?
Blue Stage:
Piranhas, swarming little fish that will shred you to pieces.
Kraken, possibly as a boss, only its tentacles are visible and exposed- it will try to snatch the player off the ground and pull him into the water to drown him.
Green Stage:
Giant Plant, any sort of carnivorous plant. Perhaps different kinds- the "trap you and slowly devour you" kind, or the "Venus Flytrap" kind.
This mod is absolutely fantastic in concept and execution so far. I love it.
I'd like those minor ruins mentioned on the spreadsheet, if only because it (presumably) adds content related to the theme that doesn't required being at or near end-game and would be a nice boon for starting the game with it installed.
I understand this mod very well now. I'll help you out kirb by answering user's questions so you can focus more on programing rather than the topic. It's the least I can do.

Huh, I guess I did forget to add a screenshot of the gold labyrinth core.
The Gold Labyrinth, the remains of what may have been an ancient glowstone power plant.

mob ideas
Some of those are actually pretty close to what I've had in mind. Stalker is somewhat similar the Whispering Shadow. The corrupted squid are small aggressive squid that hunt in packs. The boss of the blue labyrinth may be a kraken-type monster. It's hard to say what our restrictions with mobs will be until we're done with the Labyrinth generation stage, and at the mob/boss-making stage.

Cows, Pigs, Chickens, and Wolf's Spawn on Peaceful. And If I remember even on Peaceful Wolf's can attack you if you attack them first. So you can do the Boss's and Mobs The same way.
I talked with Choam and we'll be making it so just the bosses of each Labyrinth will not be despawnable.
However, I would still highly recommend against playing the mod in Peaceful, though.
If Im also not mistaking. I think Wolfs Attack you at night even on Peaceful and is passive/nice in day time. ( Like spides but does not despawn.
BUt I agree this mob should not be playd on peacegul. If so Make some hard puzzle/trap rooms to counter the lack of mobs.

Yeah, I do like those....
What I don't like? Platforming. I. Hate. Platforming.
Unless the distance is short, and i won't DIE from falling off those stupidly clustered platforms (Looking at you, A.R.E.S.), I'm okay. Otherwise. All my hate....
Is it possible to have a randomly spawning spider-queen boss of sorts? Or is something like that already planned?
On a side-note, What texture pack are you using in these screenshots? Or is it custom? If so, is it possible to release that to wet our hunger for this Megamod?
Hi.
I got an idea for this. It would be cool if every Artifact had was elemental in some way. So The Blue would be
Water element, So you could change it so the small icon or what it shows in it could look like a water drop or something..
And the orange could be more red and be a Fire artifact. then it could have a icon in it,
Green could be Nature,
Yellow could be Holy,
Dark could be darkness,
And then they could have some kind of elementals guarding it. Like water element, fire element, nature element and the other ones. Just an idea,

Read the first post Kirb made and you'll see that . That is what hee did. And has done. Dont be lazy If I can read all Kirbs post's so can you.
OH but Wait Hey Kirb. Question.
Seeing there is now Rain,Snow,Lighting. I can understand not making a Another artifact for the rain and Snow. Ut how about another Artifact for Lighting? And what it can do is lessen the damage by 1/2 if you get hit by lighting. takes 5 heart away but with artifact takes 2.5 heart's. or somthing?
Made this account just to make a few comments and ask a question.
1. I'm a random guy on the internet. You can trust me over close personal friends!
a. let me "Beta-test" (read: play) this for you!
b. let me try to help you code stuff even tho I don't know how and am not willing to learn!
2. I have some ideas for a mod, but I'm too lazy to think them through completely, I want you to integrate them with yours. If it turns out badly I hold you personally responsible!
3. I'm pretty sure this mod would be better with infinite artifacts. Times eleventy billion.
4. You should add some neat-looking blocks that don't really do anything!
5. Oooo, oooo, you should make the artifacts ELEMENTAL based! That'd be rad.
Question:
From 1 to Face-desk, how incredulous would you be had I been serious?
PS: Like the work so far, kudos.
EDIT: Hm, forgot to allude to the white artifact and release date pestering. Oh well.

Here are my suggestions for some mobs.
Red Stage:
Fire Frog, hops around spreading fire, possibly with a flaming tongue that sucks mobs in.
Cinderbat, a flaming cliffracer/bat that perches upside down until distrubed, at which point it will screech and start flying around, burning anything it touches.

Green Stage:
Giant Plant, any sort of carnivorous plant. Perhaps different kinds- the "trap you and slowly devour you" kind, or the "Venus Flytrap" kind.
White Stage:
I can't think of any good ones.
