Could such a lush green pine forest exist so far underground?
Lies, A forest could never exist underground! It is not logical!
Just a side-note here, If the labyrinths have a massive maze/trial up top to find 9 keys to open the massive sector below, wouldn't eventualy, they sort of, get in the way? Would be absolutely strange to be mining, and randomly hit a labyrinth wall, right where you're digging? And what if, in a rare case, a labyrinth spawns beside another labyrinth, and they run into eachother, making a sort of problematic case of unbreakable wall right in the middle of your labyrinth, barring passage? Dungeons are unable to do this, do to their relatively small size, but a large underground structure might cause.... problems.

I wouldn't worry about accidentally running into labyrinths. This mod is designed to encompass a massive area, where in some cases you need to walk for 20-25 minutes to even reach a labyrinth/artifact. Possible overlap is also highly unlikely, but I believe Choam wrote the gen so that they have to spawn X chunks away from each other, so it's impossible.

There are 15 artifacts that get generated, a random type. An artifact as in the orb looking things, once 15 are generated in your world it will stop generating them. These artifacts are different from the Artifact Tools/Equipments, they are two different things. Even though you get a random colored artifact, you can change the color to another with a recipe that Kirb hasn't shared yet; so you can change them for the ones you want or need to craft an equipment. The compass is just an item created to find the artifacts, and you automatically get a white artifact once you collect the 15 normal ones, or complete the 5 normal dungeons because you need it to enter the final temple. Sorry if this sounds confusing.

Once the 15 Artifacts are generated, the world won't generate more. So, once you have gathered 15 Artifacts, You won't get any more. =o But you will get a sexy White Artifact for the last temple. Read back a few posts/pages Kirb explained some things regarding the artifacts.
OK so after reading ALL Kirb's Post's. Let me see if I got this To a "T"
15 Color Orb Artifact Total/ NO more no less.
If Need are throw into Lava/break The map/game will make a new to replace it to keep the 15 mark.
it take 2 Artifacts Orbs to open a Layer's door.
Once those Artifacts are place they can never be removed. And they still count to the 15 Mark. ( but are now useless)
There are 6 Tools'gears.
Artifact Helm, Chest Armor, Legs, Boots, Sword, And Pick Axe.
You can get each Tool/gear In a layer. And you can only have one copy of each. ( I e one of each per world)
So lets see. If I wanted all the Armor and tools. that would be 12 Orb Artifacts i need. Leaving me with 3 orbs for the effect's they hold. And to make them I need 7 orbs to make the Sliver looking Bar do too you need 3 to 6 silver Bars + A gold Armor/Tool + A Artifact. Leaving 10 orbs. And only 4 to 5 armor's and tools to be made. Along with 0 orbs for the Layers.
But then there the fact you can make 4 tools and use up 8 orbs. Leaving 7 Orbs left. Leting you Get 2 Tools from a layer thats 4 orbs used up. And still 3 orbs left for effect.
so No matter what You can get all the Armor'sm The Sword and Pick Axe and still have 3 orbs left for their effects.
But you can still have 6 orbs ( If you dont get the Pick axe. Cause yea the Artifact pick axe is nice but Once you have all the others The pick axe would not matter anymore. So you can have 6 orbs and have all 5 effects happen plus 1 more to double up on.
I know this is alot to read and made me confusing. But if you think you understand my meaning. Am I right on this?

And What about this
Orichalcum and Orichalcum Energy Core on your Artifact list to do. Is this going to be A Perm/ Mining anywhere item or is there a limit to how much you can get like the Artifacts?
Even if you get a Gold Artifact back from the Ingot's You said it yourself You can Change the color of it Artifact (effect too) Given you know how to do make them. But what I was getting at is. Is it possible to take say
Artifact Helm. And Break it down back to it;s building block's? Change those Building blocks and Make into say a Artifact Chest Armor.
Or is it
Once you use a Artifact ( To open a Door, or make armor) there no way to get it back once used.

They just sound annoying, and anything else would be better than a thief.
How about instead you have a 'boss' monster that has a higher chance of spawning as you collect more artifacts?

Orichalcum is a rare but naturally reoccurring resource, only slightly less common than diamond.
And then I made a giant thief boss mob.
