I think you should have a button at the world creation screen (the place where you enter the seed) to select wether or not you want the artifacts in your world.
Glad to see this is going along great. I hope it comes out soon, but it looks worth the wait. I just can't shake the feeling that there will be a update shortly after release. Anywho, keep up the good work, between this, the Aether mod, and Mo' Creatures, this looks like the great waiting period of modding.

Currently Choam and I are taking a quick break from Labyrinth construction so we don't get get burnt out, and are working on Bosses and unique mobs within each dungeon.
Still really excited for this mod. It's the only thing I've seen so far that looks like it would tie in well with the original concept of minecraft. It encourages exploration but doesn't force you to do anything.
If there is any way I or any other thread-dwellers can help with the development I'm sure you'd only need to post once.
I'll be a tester. For free, honestly. I know how much you'd love to pay me for alpha/beta testing your mod but I'd do it for free just for you (and not because I'm excited to play this mod)
If you would have cared to read the two last pages, you would have found the answer several times. The White Artifact will grant you access to the last Labyrinth. in addition to that, the current crafting recipe is just a placeholder, as you will get/find the White Artifact. Not craft it.
This idea is amazing, but I fear finding the artifacts will be too difficult. Even with the compass, that still leaves and 8 Chunk by 8 Chunk range it could be in. That's a HUGE space. At the VERY least, make the room dark enough monster will spawn, so that you can use their ambience as a guide.

If you use the nether, you will be able to pinpoint the correct chunk much more easily.
How can we open labyrinths if we need two matching artifacts yet only one of each type is generated at a time?
They're not! There's not a set number of colors generated, but if you need a specific color for a labyrinth, you can convert artifacts to different colors by using a furnace and a recipe~

There's about 2 months to several months left of development.
The Labirynths will try to generate loot which you do not already have, so you'd have to be really unlucky.
