For his privacy, and since I don't know his wishes on the subject, I won't say what at the moment. Actually, the ability to do so was specifically PROVE that I had some say in the mod now.

The last post might've led you to believe the mod is dead, but I promise, Saspiron and myself, and from the looks of things so far Hamster might be joining us as well, are all working on it as we speak. I'm still not fully able to say Ham is with us as of yet, but he's appearing to be a promising candidate.

I'm trying to help as much as I can but school and work can be a bit overwhelming at times. Right now I've been so busy with mid terms and projects that i haven't been able to get any of my own coding done! but that'll change sometime this week and hopefully I'll be able to get that thing we talked about done and out soon.
I just wanted to tell you and saspiron that I am very excited to see that this mod is in development! It just look so good and i cant wait until it finally comes out. speaking of which, is there any estimate as to when it might have some sort of beta release?
Well, as it sets at the moment, I've had a working "Prototype", if you will, but my computer just recently needed restored from backup, and it wasn't as current a backup as one would hope, so the work I had completed just disappeared. It wasn't anything you all would have wanted to test out, but it was a proof of concept at least. That being said, I'm going to continue work in earnest now. Sas, while very helpful in many ways, is still working on other projects, and Hamster had to cease his attempts to be part of the team for personal reasons, so I believe I'm the only one pushing code at the moment.
I still intend on giving you guys something to play with soon. Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long, but I'm still pushing my way through the newer Minecraft updates, as it's been a long while since I've wrote anything for Minecraft, about around Alpha, so I'm a bit behind.
Just a question for the new modders. Are you going to try to do most everything that is in the original post picture? Do you plan to do anything different?
Yeah, that's the plan. I don't have very much new material planned, as in the beginning it was originally Kirb and Sas's idea, and I don't want to feel like I'm encroaching on their intellectual property rights. I can't speak for Sas on the subject, but I don't think he's had any time to develop new ideas.
Actually, I'm working on a personal mod to better the combat (and I really, REALLY hope someone doesn't read this post and go finish my idea before I can), and Sas mentioned something about not necessarily INCLUDING it in the mod, but we both planned to make it so when you have both mods installed, you get some sort of hidden bonus. As I am just getting back into the modding scene, I haven't decided to post a mod thread on it, but honestly, the new moves, weapons, and combat scene has been modded and finished for the most part, the problem is I intend on buffing the AI of the mobs so they can fight you back more aptly, but that's where I hit a brick wall, and the AI I've coded so far kind of end up,,, breaking, after some time. But, since my HD scrambled, I lost THAT work too. I've since learned to force a backup nightly, as opposed to the bi-weekly schedule I had.
I'll shut up on that topic now though, as this page isn't about that mod, it's about Artifacts. I'm hoping to make sure I deliver on the main pages promises. Keep in mind, there HAVE been a few, and I stress few, changes that Sas and Kirb decided before they left for other projects that aren't on the main graphic, but they don't change large amounts of the core concept.

Well, kinda.
After my HD scrambled and I lost what work I had, I'm still in the process of rebuilding what we'd ALREADY accomplished. *facepalm* However, that being said, I should be able to post some screenshots on the Tumblr of the current build progress, showcasing where we're at at the moment. Again though, the largest amount of work done at this point has been clarical, and while it's necessary to the mods progress, it isn't terribly interesting to show you guys a video of me going through the previous iteration of the mods work tickets and previous discussions about it's direction. At this point, more organization is going on than actual coding. Still, work is being done, and you will hopefully have something to see at the very least, very soon.
Right now, I'm, to use my terrible, terrible metaphoric skills, deciding where the saw would best be put to work before I just start cutting, that way in the future, I won't end up cutting off a part I might've needed without knowing before. Basically extensive preperation before I tackle the bigger things, like the promised big feature of the mazes, dungeons and Labyrinths.
Also, as a sidenote, I've decreased the time between my backups to weekly as opposed to bi-weekly. I'd go even smaller, but backing up all my data is a very time consuming process.
Cyrus and Saspiron- good luck! I've long been piqued by the concept of this mod, so it's nice to see some folks got permission and are trying to bring it to fruition. Enjoy yourself and take your time- it'll be done when it's done. Most of us who have been checking out this thread every so often are probably just happy to hear it's being revived and satisfied to simply talk about it. I'm sure modest progress updates here and there is all it will take to excite many of us.

Alright. Sorry, I've been meaning to post here for some time, but life happens, and did, and I haven't been able.
I've had a stroke of bad luck as of recently, and without going into detail as to why or how and to avoid any assumptions I'm looking for pity, have had a rather tough month. I've had to sell my gaming computer for unexpected expenses, and my time has been stretched thin as of late.
Rest assured that this isn't an expected post, as many mods like this fall by the wayside ending with a post like this one. This isn't the case here. I have no plans to cease work, but the new thread for the mod may have to wait until next week to be posted, along with the screenshots I've taken, as I have to restore everything from my backup to a new rig.
