After updating on OS X, I get the following error. Any ideas what could be causing this?
java.lang.SecurityException: SHA1 digest error for f.class

I've tried to do this, but when I do, Minecraft gets stuck at "Done Loading."
I found the minecraft.jar in the appdata folder, and I extracted it, replaced the files, deleted metaINF, zipped, then renamed it back to a .jar file. What am I doing wrong?
My minecraft is vanilla, apart from this.
I'm not sure, that sounds like the correct steps. Maybe try a special jar editing utility like http://www.codeland.org/ ?
3 words : I Love You. Hell of a mod, now i don't have to play with just tiny distance. I cant move to far distance yet(kinda tweeky), but normal with some sun is just epicly awesomeness... keep up the great work
This sounds like a great mod to improve performance. Will you be making this compatible with the better light and better grass mod in the future? I've seen this question asked a couple of times in the thread but haven't seen a definitive answer. Thanks and very nice work.

I'm in contact with the creator of BetterLight, so hopefully it will be compatible by the next version.
(Also I added a donate link in case anyone wants to help me pay for college)
It kinda decreased my fps from 80 to 34 (on short render let me get some screenies ) (using v3)(minecraft beta 1.1_02) doesn't seem to do anything but lower my fps :|for v3 (on sp)
That's really odd, are you sure you had the same render options for both?
I tested with the fancy option and my fps boosted up to 90(which is the normal fps without the mod so it works but not as i expected it)

So long as it doesn't decrease performance for people who already have good performance, it's good. Also, did you test v4?
When I downloaded the game it only gave me the minecraft.exe. That's all. No installation or setup. I kept getting the bad video driver bug while running the exe so I had to change it to a .jar file and make a .bat file to get it to run. Ther is no other minecraft.jar file anywhere on my computer and the one that I mad has the metadata file in it so I figured it was the same thing.
I have no %appdata% folder that I can find.
well
minecraft.exe downloads all the files into the direcrory
if you dont have %appdata% you arent on vista/7
This mod gives an increased and smoother framerate when playing single player, and should also make memory usage grow slower. The typical FPS gain is at least 10FPS.
You lie, I had 7ish fps now I have 27ish fps!
Great mod, other than your lie.
Very nice mod. This is my first comment on this website. I have a cheap budget laptop and it took my 7 fps to 34 fps. Thank you very much my good friend. Diamonds for you and some gold Thanks again.
I wish I could be another success story here, but it honestly dropped my fps by about 10...
From about 25 average to about 15 average, and more frequently dipping down into the <1 range. :X
This is with a vanilla install of Minecraft.
This is with v4? What graphics card do you have? I'm at a loss to how this could decrease performance. Are you sure you didn't have anything else running at the time?

I share Minecraft save files a bunch. Will this mod make my saves incompatible with their computers that (unfortunately) lack this mod?
I Hope this Mod Doesnt Screw up my Saved Games like the other Optimization mod Cause ive only Come across 2.
when I look at f3 screen- it shows I am using 50% of allocated memory
is there a way to boost its use up to 100%?
i.e. allocate more memory to java?
I am running a Vista, amd 64, 2.6ghz dual core, 3 gigs ram
I can run most high end games fine- but not minecraft
I should have the resources- minecraft just doesnt seem to be using them
modded all to heck too
after everything in your world has been loaded up, open up your task manager, go to processes, and select the java process (jvawa or something like that) and right click, and set to high priority, and see if that does the trick.

do not compress the folder, just rename it to "minecraft.jar"

even tried it with BL/G and it was funky triangles, but still increased fps.
KEEP WORKING, GREAT JOB

In a previous post, it's mentioned that the parts updated/affected aren't present when in multiplayer.
ummm -
look at the creator's s/n of the region mod
now look who created this mod
::rollseyes:::
and region mod stated, quite boldly and explicitly what it would do to saved games
FastRender:
I got a few fps boost- I am usually at 15- 18 fps, and now it will go above 20 a little more often
so a little boost

This doesn't touch save files.
