TSo i got this idea but minecraft suggestions thing broke and wont let me post this idea sooooo here i am
My idea is as follows:
A new curse: The curse of destruction.
This would render an item to 0 durability once a player dies with an item with this curse, or some other form of way to activate it.
What would this be used for?
Well lets look at the 2 other curses in the game:
Binding curse
This curse just sticks armor to you, and is not really used. Just dont put armor with it on lol and your fine.
Vanishing curse
now this is where things get interesting
This is used in servers where you dont want your items lost on death, and you would rather they disappear than go into other players hands after your death.
Now, issue with this is the items are gone forever, you cant get them back.
This curse of destruction would render an item un-useable like the elytra once once you use an elytra too much. The items would still drop on ground, but to "fix" them you would need to do something.
Ideas on how to "fix" a destroyed item:
its ore (Netherrite for netherite, diamonds for diamond things, etc)
Lots of xp(Put this item in an anvil with something such as another book with the curse of destruction? It would take a lot of xp, 50 levels?)
some item like how the elytra has phantom membranes.
This "fix" should be expensive, as this item was cursed on death, and should not be fixed easily.
This item, like all other curses would be on a book/found on items in loot tables, and can be bought from librarians at the same rarity as other curse books. Mainly it would only be used in server PvP and such, but is still a cool item. Unlike other curses, it does not render a permanent disability on the item, such as binding it to your skin for all of eternity or until you DIE, and can be fixed. This means it can be used outside of server PvP, and does not mean if its found on a fully maxed diamond armor piece in a end city chest you leave it behind cause of the curse, you just need to fix it if you die.

Thats great idea, if you let me use it in my RPG mod, I would add it :). Link would be later here.
I am not a mod creator, but I have to say, this is nice
