I am Salamyyy and I would like to share a pretty massive idea that I had recently.
What would happen, if you would create a Highscoresystem in minecraft?
I was thinking about it and it came to me that it would fit quite well in the game and would make a perfect mod. The only issue is.... I almost have everything mapped out and could create it in a vanilla minecraft world any second but then I realised that you could make it compatible to any modpack mabye.
This is why I am asking the commmunity to mabye help me with this pretty big project. I have no modding knoledge but still would like to bring my idea out there into this world. I would also help along the way and also learn some things from the individuals that might help me with this.
I thought about it like this:
Almost every farmable block would have a certain number of little gimmiks that this new mod brings: A score pickup, which would mabye be random everytime you break the block. For example: A dirt block drops 1-5 "1 Point" drops but it would be randomized everytime like a loottable. I would tell you which blocks I have thought of.
They would also drop coin-pickups and xp-pickups. Also a specific recource pickup and a what I woud call jobpickup
XP-pickups will grant you xp to raise your playerlevel (Not Enchantinglevel). Once you will levelup, points will be assigned for each job in the game but which also wil be random. the jobs would be: "Mining, Farming, excavating, wodcutting and hunting". The points in a job will determine how much points you get for a "jobpickup". For example: Player has a score of woodcutting of 4 and collects a jobpickup. since his score is 4 on woodcutting, he will earn 4 points for the jobpickup "woodcútting" since the score of woodcutting is 4. Every job will have its own pickup.
Coinpickups will grant you coins which would be a new currency added to the game. you will be able to spend these coins for multiple things:
First I was thinking about adding a upgrade panel where you can upgrade a recource with coins. once the recource is ugraded, you will be able to earn more coins from that spedcific recource. Example: player has a cactusscore of 5 since he has bought 5 upgrades already. Once he collects a cactus pickup item, he will earn 5 points for that pickup item since he has upgraded his cactus to 5.
With this you will be able to control which items you want to farm for and earn points for.Mabye also we can make it more expensive as you continue to buy upgrades but that is just a lingering thought.
but that would be a bit too easy to just earn the points and continue with your day.There are also some "threats" which I have thought of
that will take ayway points from you if you do not take care of them.
!st. threat: The Block Threat.
Each block that you will be able to mine which will give you points in this mod will also have a holograph which you will get in a starting chest or something. This holographic block will deplete the score of the specific block that it shows once you will break that specific block. To spawn this block you will need a hologram of that specific block which I would make into a crafting recipe. once you aquire this machine, place it down and above this machine will spawn a hologram of that specific block.
Example: you mine some cobblestone but your score of the threat Cobblestone score keeps rising and rising. After a certain limit it will start depleting your points slowly. To stop that from happening, you must craft a cobblestone hologram and start breaking the holographic cobblestone that is being spawned by that hologram. Do that and your threat cobblestone score will start depleting.
2nd threat: Time based threat.
Another Tablet will come as another threat. once you open it you will be greeted by a screen where multiple icons are visible. some are greyed out but can be activated. go into the visible icons and you start seeing numbers going down. once these numbers reach zero, they will start depleting your score. There should be a recharge button in each section of this tablet. Press recharge in one of the sections and the numbers will start toi rise again for that specific section.
Example: Someone checks the tablet and clicks the icon Delta and sees that the score has reached zero on that section. That was why his score was gradually depleting. He refills the delta score and closes his tablet and continues doing the work tat he is doing at the moment.
3rd Threat: Ill just call it Power threat....
There wil be 4 specific types of powers that you have to stop from depleting. once one of them reches zero... you guessed it.... your score wil start to deplete too. but these powers will deplete differently than just passing time.
1st will deplete by mining any block.
2nd will deplete by travelling any distance
3rd will deplete by picking up any item
4th will deplete by regenerating.... if that is possible.
each one will have a specific block that the player can use to get pickups to regain these points.
a chest type block which automatically refills over time
a dropper for example which shoots out those pickups with the press of a button integrated in the block
a furnace type block where you use fuel to generate those points for yourself
and a shopping block where you have to spend coins to get these points back.
These are of course just ideas that can be chaned over time.
That would be everything that I have for you today. this would be a little overview on what I was thinking of as a mod to spice up minecraft itself. With mod support in it,k you woud be able to spice up ANY modpack that you want. if anyone would like to help me with this and share their ideas for this project, then I would be very greatful for their help. of course they would be included as a member of that modteam.
