Since I found out about the Blockbuster and Aperture Mods I've been really interested in doing some Minecraft Machinima. But I noticed one glaring omissions when it comes to Minecraft machinima mods. An absence of a facial animator. I know there are way to do this from within the blockbuster mod and work arounds using More Player models mod. But they all seem more technical and time consuming then necessary.
I feel like there's a more seamless and simple way this could be done. So I suggest a simple mod that just swaps the texture of the front of the player models face with one in the same texture file. Simply add a custom skin to the mod folder that includes the additional facial animations in the texture itself (I've added a simple example). And when you bring up the GUI you then designate which parts of the texture will become a facial animation variant. Then while using Blockbuster or Aperture you can again open the GUI and seamlessly switch between different facial textures (I also included an simple example of animation selector).
I know with Minecraft's low resolution skins there would be some limitations. It would be pretty hard to make facial animations that are all that noticeable using pixel animation. But maybe this mod could also allow for the use of HD Skins. That would solve that problem.
