The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
So, I feel like this is the best place to post this as I'm not actually trying to create a mod, simply talk about the idea of one (err, a few). But I really wanna touch on one particular idea that I like a lot, one I got when I was trying to find a resource pack like the mod idea.
Now, I understand that making a mod can be tedious and depending on the vision damn near impossible, but I just can't believe there is no Dark Souls mod yet, ya know? Especially with the meme of everything being Dark Souls even if it isn't even remotely difficult. We'll move on to discuss the ideas of what the mod would include, but first another mod idea that plays into the first a bit.
An adventure overhaul or mod of sorts would be fantastic for a mod like this, especially if you wanted to create a "Dark Souls game in Minecraft" TM
Some of the features I would imagine would be possible is that maybe while in the creative phase of it, you can create NPCs without having to use some of minecrafts more... unappealing systems for communication. (chat)
I'm gonna list a few ideas I have for each mod in a less chaotic way and maybe you guys can help elaborate or explain why its a bad idea(?)
Adds a majority of the souls series' items
Adds a few new structures/mobs with "new" mechanics (ie bonfire, firekeeper, etc)
An overhauled Leveling System, overhauled to be closer to the series obviously
Mobs, tons of mobs, even mobs you thought would go good in the series (maybe even cut content)
Bloodborne eastereggs (??)
Changes the "chat" system modders/map makers have used for communication
Adds a custom NPC system that could possibly read model files from a folder and scrips would define their nature (?)
A "campaign" option for more video gamey type of maps (can touch on this more if asked)
Add a few more redstone machines to add more "physical mechanics"
Now I know my ideas are loosely put together, but I only had a few of these written and elaborated on paper. So let us discuss.
I'm gonna definitely work on a heavy mod when Forge updates and I was hoping that my Dark Souls idea wouldn't be rejected too hardly.
