It takes my Minecraft around a minute to become fully responsive after I enter the world. (Yes, far too many mods all trying to initialize... Many chunks to load at once... Etc...)
This often results in my death. It'd be great if simulation was paused while my FPS was below 10. A 60 seconds (adjustable) window of invulnerability or spectator mode upon login would solve this.
I can't even press ESC in time to pause because of the massive input latency. (Once the freeze is over, the game is playable. Acceptable frame rate with occasional lag spikes.)
Make player invulnerable / spectator while world is loading (lag death fix)
What I do for this is simply click anywhere outside the game window. Minecraft will automatically pause first and load safely in the background. No mod required.
