One of my favorite mods is Blood Magic. The idea of using the life force of living beings to fuel constructs is an amazing concept. However it always lacked the fully fledged gory macabre that I felt the name should entail. Other than the use of the blood altar and sacrificing creatures, along with the occasional demonic symbols, very little of the mod had the creepy body horror vibe I was hoping it would have. So why not have a secondary mod? An addon that takes the idea of manipulating life force one step further and that allows you to create and mutate the life itself into bloody organic monsters and machines. This sub-school or entirely different practice would be Flesh Magic.
Concept
Flesh Magic would utilize the flesh of living creatures to produce biological constructs and minions to perform various tasks. All structures apart from the initial pieces would consist of being purely made of flesh, and would look similar in appearence to various organs of the body.
The Base of A Carnamancer
Like something out of a horror movie, the base of a carnamancer would consist almost entirely of living flesh. Veins sprawl across the walls, pumping blood to different machines to power them. Doorways made up of needle like teeth, only opening to their owner, and biting down on anyone else who pass. Huge stomach like pits of mutagenic bile, transforming any creatures thrown in into deformed mutated monstrosities. Blinking eyes that watch any intruders, warning the carnamancer of danger. And intestine like tentacles that attack from the walls, floor, and cieling. Much more would exist within the carnamancers base, but this is just a quick intro.
How it Works
The base of Flesh Magic is Mutagen, this is the ever changing substance used in the creation of all constructs, in the beginning all a carnamancer will be capable of creating is a few mutated creatures and machines. But as stated, soon enough they will bend the world around them into a nightmarish realm of their design through mutagen.
One of the first things a carnamancer is to create is a Stone Cauldron-like crafting station which would server to steep an item into mutagen to mutate it. From here, we would get the Mutagen injector, when used on a small creature like a chicken, ocelot, or bat, turns them into a fleshy version of themselves. These are minor mutations, bound to follow you, and they are used in the construction of other, larger machines.
Once you have garnered a few minor mutations, they can be commanded to form together into a flesh mound, this pulsating pile of living agony can be commanded to turn into a certain machine of your choosing, through the use of mutagen, however more advanced machinery will require purified versions of mutagen in order to be created.
Epilogue
If Anyone wishes to take up my idea, it would be greatly appreciated. I understand this mod would probably be a very hard one to make, but its worth a shot either way. If you have any ideas or feedback please let me know. There is also a poll if you are interested.
Love the idea. Quick question, though, did you happen to see that there was also a flesh magic addon idea here in the community? Both these ideas could be implemented, though with some minor changes to both core systems in order to keep lore consistent throughout the mod.
Thanks for submitting some awesome ideas to the community,

Edit: the community had the idea of osteomancy(bone magic), though little is truly known about this idea.
Sounds really interesting. Unfortunately I do not have time to take on a mod that is anywhere near this large (I don't even have the time to finish the ones I am currently working on) but I wish you luck.

Oh, I did not know that. Apologies on my part. Also, what version were you thinking of doing the mod on, out of curiosity?
