This thread explains my mod request. You don't need to new blocks to the game. It sounds easy to program this into the game. This project would be a two-man project. It needs one builder (me) and one programmer.
Okay so I used blockbench and made 3 of them in it connected and one disconnected so you know what it's s'posed to link like. All those spheres in it links up to make a block 16x16 by intersecting with in itself and every other block in game would do the same so it looks smoother and more finite in game. Hope this helps.
I couldn't do any more linkage unfortunately because I'm on an old computer and would have crashed. I'm lucky to get that many in link and one aside so you know how to continue it.
So that standalone model is for 1 full block? I tried to copy it, check if it's correct - cls_model.json.
And you want it to apply to some blocks of the game?
I replaced the iron block model with this one, here is the result:
I also tried replacing the stone model, but that leads to out of memory crash because this model is too complex to render in big amounts. The biggest vanilla model is of the cauldron (6,2 kB), while this one is 133,5 kB.
Later: I edited the model and reduced number of parts from 112 to 66; here is the result. The size became 79 kB.
In the bold that is probably what would happen if it I had it done the model properly either way.
But thank you for reducing it's size, it might help me in the long run. Also how did you reduce the size or did you remake it removing the extra unnecessary pieces?
either way may I use the improved model for next resourcepack? I'm thinking it would look good for the egg at least.
also this is kind of what I meant and I tried to stack it on top up to 4 times to = same block height as an normal block but sadly I was already at 1 fps. -;( I'm betting I could get it to work if I just take the halfs of the sphere and placed them on the outside edges and put 1x1 blocks as fillers. But I still feel even than it's to complex for minecraft to handle.
basically think of linking chains how they endlessly link, these spheres would do the same essentially but again this might req a better computer and better way to handle it minecraft.
Another model reference what the above model should end up like if duplicated.
except the wholes need filled in with another sphere is the prinicipal of it.
I set the grid of Blockbench to 6x6 and replicated the model, except I scaled those cubes that could fill the space of adjacent ones, e.g. if there were 4 1x1 adjacent cubes, I replaced them with one 1x4 rectangle.
I simplified the model more, now it consists of 53 parts.
Here is a look with iron block texture:
Hey there. If mod requests are still being taken I'd like to request something I've missed for a while since the old days of Armor Movement mod.
Pretty much, a life vest. Worn in the chest armor spot. Keeps you afloat.
If possible, some means to activate it while under water to head up to the surface fast. Useful if your water breathing potion just ran out and you need to surface.

For Minecraft 1.12.1
Hi, I made a first version of you request - Life_vest-1.12.1-0.1.jar.
It will pull you up when put in that slot. To toggle fast ascension, you have to hold it in hand and right-click. It will use durability and will pull you up twice as faster, but won't break the vest completely. The vest will stop working when out of durability. Not sure whether I should make it repairable, you decide.
The vest is in the "Tools" tab.
Also, Treasure has been updated to 1.12.1 and doesn't require Groovy from now on.

Nice. All the vest needs is a visible model when worn on the chest. I wouldn't mind making textures once that's set up.
I'd guess it'd have to be considered another form of armor?

Added the model with a simple texture - Life_vest-1.12.1-0.2.jar.
Yes, it's "armor"; you can make the texture and give it it to me to replace mine. Only layer 1 is required.
You never saw my request. I was looking for feedback in general. Is this too much? Not good enough? What is this in your eyes?
I saw your request and thinked about it, but it is not actually easy to create and would be a long-term project. It is quite difficult case for this thread, so I can't do it.
Alright I know that this is kinda off topic but I wanted to ask if you could make an exeption right here. I would love to have this mod in 1.8.9. So basically on Hypixel there is this kill effect named Blood Explosion Kill effect. Let me explain how it works for you. When you kill someone on hypixel with this effect unlocked there body explodes in blood. It was made using redstone blocks. So what you need to do is to place redstone blocks stacked on top of eachother in a 2x1x1 area and then break them. They will make this satesfying break noise. I will add a video with an example so that you see what I mean.
Video:
hope you can create a mod as such! Good Luck! Thanks
Yeah, I played on Hypixel and saw that effect. But I make requests for minecraft 1.10.2+...
Cheers
Wow, been reading through this thread, and you're pretty amazing at cranking out prototypes for ideas. I have one that might be a bit of a challenge but unlike many of the other suggestions in here, is totally unique to my knowledge:
A damage reflecting "mirror" mod: it adds one item to the game, a tall block that resembles a mirror. When you hit the mirror, say, with a sword, the damage is reflected back on you. If you shoot an arrow at the mirror, you take the damage. Preferably it would print the final damage number to chat, or display it on the block, or something (some form of feedback to tell the player how much damage they took other than looking at their own health bar.)
What's the point of hitting yourself, you ask? Well, this mod would give you something of a partner for the "mmmmmmmmm" mod, or other "target dummy" mods, which allow players to test their damage numbers. None of the target dummy mods I know of can simulate all the things a player can use; runic shields from Thaumcraft, Bound Armor that is actually linked to a well supplied LP network, natural damage resistance from an Ars Magica affinity, that kind of thing. The mirror mod would allow you to see just how strong certain weaponry is against whatever armor or special defense items you are using.
I suppose you should be able to turn the block off, so that if some sand falls on it you don't start suffocating 50 blocks away. I guess it depends how you decide to implement it, if you like the idea.
EDIT: use whatever MC version you prefer, though I suppose the version with more mod support is ideal, since the more mods you add, the more useful this item becomes.

This is a possible idea, but I'm currently working on a new mod, so can't tell when I will handle your request.
It should work with such machines, the thing is you need to find out which block of its structure holds the tile entity. In Tinker's Smeltery it is Smeltery Controller, so the booster should be put adjacent to it. What other structures/machines do you have in mind? I can test it and will backport the mod to 1.10.2.
Thanks for fast response and try to backport.
Mainly all immersive engineering stuff because they are such big structures and are to slow in performance in case of the size.
I did some testing with the metal press. Turns out that Immersive Engineering machines have an operation speed limit, so tile booster doesn't work well with them. Anyway, I backported the mod, download is in the first post.
I don't fully understand this concept, can you show pictures or drawings how it would look like?

Do you think that you could create this mod: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding-java-edition/minecraft-mods/requests-ideas-for-mods/2862602-request-greek-myth-percy-jackson-mod-command-pack

Whipped something up for you. Might make a custom item icon too to make it look like the vest model.

Okay seeing how this works, is there a crafting formula for this?
" X "
"LSL"
"LSL"
X - iron ingot, L - leather, S - string.
This is a possible idea, but I'm currently working on a new mod, so can't tell when I will handle your request.
