Mercurius - stats aren't shared or cannot be filtered like what YAMPST did offer.
Proposal:
Instead of depending on having the infrastructure that YAMPST had to have perhaps have the stats mod hook into Google Analytics by using Google tracking ID (ex. UA-XXXXXXXX-Y). Of course you are automatically opted out if the client has disabled snooper or set snooper-enabled=false in server.properties
The type of information that is collected can be limited to just Country, OS and play time.
If a crash occurs it can submit the logs to Hastebin or to a self hosted Hastebin (config option?) to make it easier for modpack authors to track down issues instead of requesting time and time again "Please include full log". The hastebin link is provided when the client is started back up again "Hey you just had a crash, please keep/submit the following link [link]"

Some caveats;
IP Anonymization is a must
In essence almost like what YAMPST offered in some respects.
