I need snow and ice to not melt due to light/heat. I've searched all over google, and none of my options are appealing. Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: I'm using a christmas mod which makes it snow in all biomes, and I'd like the snowfall to naturally cover my village without melting from the lights.
1.6.4, Forge, SMP, increase the light level required to melt snow/ice to above possible levels.
I play on a non-bukkit server, so I don't have access to most plugins that fix my issue, and I grow crops, so that one gamerule won't work.
Unfortunately adding unmelting ice doesn't work in my situation. I'm using a christmas mod which makes it snow in all biomes, and I'd like the snowfall to naturally cover my village without melting from the lights.

Hmm.. then maybe ask this guy to add compatibility for snow layers and also backport his mod to 1.6.4
