I know, the name is not masterpiece, but I can't create better.
General Idea:
When I was making my 1.7.10 Hardcore-Realistic-Survival Modpack I wanted a mod that makes minecraft more challenging. There are lots of mods that improves how survival works (BTW, TerraFirmaCraft, Better Beginnings, Realistic Survival, Reasonable Realism...) but there was always something that I don't really want. So I choose the best ideas and turn it into one.
Features:
No more punching wood with fists: One of the most unrealistic things in minecraft is punching wood with hands. I'm not sure if Steve is John Cena or Jackie Chan, but it is simply unrealistic. Trees from other mods like BoP, Ancient Trees or Pam's Harvestcraft are also unbreakable.
A small little rocks: With this mod you can find a small rocks in your world. You can pick them up and create flint from them. Also if you have 4 the little rocks, you can create cobblestone, and if you put cobblestone to crafting table, you get your 4 small rocks back.
No more Wooden Tools: The Wooden Tools are no more possible to craft except for Wooden Sword. Unlike in Better Beginnings mod, Wooden Sword is still pretty strong enough to kill cow.
Twigs falling from leaves: If you destroy leaves there is 85% it will drop twig. With twigs you can easily create sticks.
Knives: Knives are really useful tools. The first knife that you will get will be Flint Knife. It is crafted with Flint and Stick. Later you will able to create knives from other materials. (Stone, Iron, Gold, Diamond and also from materials from other mods like Mettalgury). Better knives has bigger durability.
Leather Strips: Leather strips will be really useful at your journey. It can be created from Knife and Leather (don't worry your knife will remain you). It can be used for creating tools.
Flint and Bone tools: How I mention The Wooden Tools are no more possilbe to make. There are now replaced with Flint and Bone tools. Flint Axe can becreated with Flint, Leather Strips and Stick. Now you can finally get wood and create crafting table. Now when you have crafting table you can create Flint Showel (crafting - 2 Sticks and Flint) , Bone Pickaxe
(crafting - 2 bones, 2 sticks and Leather strips) and Bone Hoe (crafting - 2 sticks, bone, leather strips)
Bows are now created from Leather Strips: Another thing that don't make much sense in minecraft are bows. In real life, your bow made with string will probably tear even before you try to shoot an arrow. That's reason why bows are no more created with string, but with Leather Strips.
Thats all for my idea. I hope it will become a real mod. You can post your textures and ideas for this mod. Everything will help. Goodbye!
Look at my mod Flint Instead of Wood for a few of these features (the config lets you cancel breaking wood without an axe, but that is turned off by default)
It's not a perfect fit, but it's something

I like it. It really adds some of the features, but the problem is, how do I get sticks if I disable breaking wood? I don't noticed if there is something like twigs falling from leaves.
By default, wooden tools cannot be crafted and it hurts to harvest wood by hand. You can still harvest wood unless you turn that off in the config. In that case, break leaves to get sticks.
That is on the page I linked to, and it describes how to change the percent chance of sticks-from-leaves in the config

Thanks a lot. So far I will use your mod. But that doesn't mean I still don't hope my idea become a real mod. Maybe you can apply my ideas to your mod. But you can do it only if you want.
So you want someone to create a copy of Better Beginnings, except you can craft a wooden sword?
I think you can add a recipe with ModTweaker instead of creating a whole other mod, and if you want something besides a recipe added, then use the config.
I honestly haven't heard of BetterBeginnings before I saw this thread. I just tried it out and it looks like the TerraFirmaCraft alternative a friend was looking for. Very nice mod.
Like The_catacylsm said, it seems most of these can be achieved with BetterBeginnings and ModTweaker.

I happened upon this post a couple of weeks ago. I liked the ideas, and they fit well with what I'd already done with my "Rainbeau's Realistic Survival" mod, so I incorporated pretty much all of them into the new version I just released.

Mods by dburgdorf (aka Rainbeau Flambe) for Minecraft 1.10.2:
To everyone who said it's the same things like TerraFirmaCraft and/or Better Begginings. I decided to make whole new theard. I decided for this because I also noticed that this idea is really similiar to TerraFirmaCraft and/or Better Begginings. New idea will be much diffirent than this one. When new theard will be done, this theard will be probably closed. Thanks for understanding!
That seems pretty cool, but it does sound a bit like Terrafirmacraft.
I'm not sure whether your comment was directed toward my mod or toward Sionw's original request, but either way, I figured I'd address it.
Yes, what Sionw asked for, and what my mod provides, is conceptually similar to what TerraFirmaCraft and Better Beginnings offer. But I don't really see one mod being similar to another as an inherently bad thing. Different modders can reach similar goals in different ways. Two or more mods can obviously be similar to each other without one being a "copy" of another.
Scale is a big factor here. Both TerraFirmaCraft and Better Beginnings are very expansive mods which make extensive changes to gameplay which you never really get away from. There is of course nothing wrong with that, but what "Rainbeau's Realistic Survival" offers, and what it seemed like Sionw was originally asking for, is a more subtle set of changes to the early game, which (mostly) "fade out" in favor of vanilla gameplay once you've gotten to the point where you're using iron tools. (It just takes you a bit longer to get there than in vanilla.)
And of course, there's also the issue of game version. TerraFirmaCraft is still only usable with Minecraft version 1.7.10, and Better Beginnings hasn't yet been updated to work with any Minecraft version more recent than 1.8. Again, there's nothing wrong with that, and it seems many players still enjoy playing older versions of the base game, but the fact remains, those mods really aren't viable options for players who want to play the current version of Minecraft. (But that point may not be directly relevant here, since Sionw did flag this thread with "1.7.10" and "1.8" tags, and so may in fact have been looking specifically for mods for older versions of the game.)
So, anyway, yes, I'll freely admit that my mod does "sound a bit like TerraFirmaCraft," but I just want to point out that it isn't nearly so ambitious, works with newer versions of the game, and offers, I think, at least a few unique twists on the shared concepts.

Your mods are for 1.10.2 ._.
EDIT: Also, how I said, there will be new theard with new ideas.
Yes, they are, because Minecraft 1.10.2 is the current version of the game. I don't see any point in modding for obsolete versions, and honestly don't understand why so many people still do so. *Shrug* But your mileage, as they say, may vary.

There are lots of different threads on this forum with lots of different ideas. But I'm not sure how those other threads are relevant here. I replied to this thread, to let folk know that the ideas in this thread have been implemented in one of my mods, so people who like those ideas can try it out.

The reason he said that was because the request was a mod for 1.7.10 and/or 1.8, not 1.10, maybe he wants to use it with his

The new thread is relevant because its a remake of this one, and when its made this thread will be locked.

EDIT: Also, what do you think about my new signature?
TConstruct adds these metals and these metal liquids to make tools in a realistic way. The addon iguana tweaks to TConstruct adds blocks physics and more. A pretty good base in a realistic modpack.
Thanks! I know about these mods and I'm using them, but even if there is TiC and Iguana Tweaks, wooden tools are still basic tools, and there is no mod that delete items like magic...
