I hate [most] hills and love flat areas... but I 'really' hate super flat worlds.
What I'd like to see is a configurable mod that will allow you to dig / mine in a certain radius around the player that will 'flatten' an area to the level where you're standing on while accepting durability on tools so that they break upon usage. I know there's mods out there including world edit, but I'd rather use something that's not 'overly' cheatable.
Configurations could be as follows: (Just some ideas of course)
Leveling Height: Enter amount of blocks from feet to above head to mine/dig.
Distance (North, East, South, West, Spherical or Box): Place amount of blocks started from the player going out to break.
Tool Type: Ability to select the tool in which to add/remove blocks (See next configuration idea)
Block Type: After selecting tool, this would provide the ability to select which blocks to add/remove. (EG: Dirt, Cobbletstone)
Tool Durability Effect: Able to determine if tool breaks, and how often.
Hotkey Customization: Utilize Hotkey to activate layering feature (EG: holding down hot key or the ability to toggle on / off)
In essence, this is like the veinminer mod in a way I guess, but in veinminer you can't select how high or low you want the blocks being broken (Which you can take health damage if you fall too far if blocks below you are destroyed)
Anyway, I just kinda thought it would be cool too have.
