Here are some mods that i would love to see for the latest Forge 1.9:
Camera POV: My friend gets really queezy when playing in First Person in Minecraft, though she really loves the game! I want a mod that could help her get a good blend of First and Third Person view. Something like the Shoulder Surfing Mod.
[UPDATE]: Okay, awesome news guys! I just looked on Curseforge, and somebody ported the Shoulder Surfing mod to 1.9! You can go onto the page by going to CurseForge (Or Curse, can't remember which...)
Environment Realism: This is a pretty broad term for what I'm looking for, so I'll keep it short and sweet. More textures for all animals, similar to the way Bunnies blend into their surroundings, and how Horses combine features. Also, Seasons! Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall. You should know what that means.
Solar System: I would love to see different colored and sized stars in the skies to go along with the Default. Something similar to what we all see at night. Also, a telescope/binoculars. I know you can do that sorta with Optifine, but 1) It's not out yet for 1.9 and 2) I really want an item that does this, not a button.
Knives: Yeah you know what this is. Something lightweight, very fast to pull out, and does enough damage to be reliable, but not as much as a sword.
Leather Handles: Wrap Leather around Sticks to make.... well... Leather Wrapped Sticks. I would love to see this in the game for Weapons. It would reduce the time it takes to draw your weapon/tool, and increase damage slightly..... ok maybe not that last one, but still.
Hunger/Saturation: I absolutely hate how 1.9 makes it where Saturation prioritizes your health over your food. The whole reason we even fill our hunger is to heal ourselves... But yeah, just switch it back to 1.8 mechanics.
More Tools/Weapons/Armor: I would like to see Redstone (Uber fast draw-time, but not much damage. Similar to Gold), Lapis (Stone-like draw-time, higher enchantability than Gold), Prismarine (Does twice as much damage if used Underwater, and is twice as slow when used on land), Quartz (Idk about this one... Maybe its strong against Ghasts?), Emerald (Dunno about this one either... Maybe just add it in for variety. Or maybe Villagers will give you better loot for the Armor instead of the individual Emeralds), Netherrack (Very soft. Softer than Gold, but lights entities on fire! Also has a quick draw-time), and Obsidian (Very, very, very slow draw-time. Like 3 seconds. But very powerful). I would also like to see the Strength potion be used to not only increase damage, but decrease the draw-time!! They should have added that part into vanilla!!
[UPDATE:] Ok, just looked on PlanetMinecraft, and I found that somebody made a mod similar to this! It's lacking in variety, but it's a good mod so far! http://www.planetminecraft.com/mod/armorplus-mod/ Go request weapons if you really want what I listed in this post.
That's it for now. If you like these ideas, lemme know! Spread the word to as many willing modders as you can!
Sadly I cant code however the ideas are great!, maybe if someone where to code put them all in one mod? so pepole dont have to download 5 mods well it depends if you are making it more for you or for the public.

Environmental realism is Random Mobs. Optifine has it as an option, and the extra files are supplied by the texture packs.
I know that you can have differentiated textures with Optifine, but read closely what I said. "More textures for all animals, similar to the way Bunnies blend into their surroundings, and how Horses combine features." The first part about camouflage, again, can be achieved with Optifine. I get that. But do animals breed the same way Horses do? No, they don't.

Okay, that's great. Can't wait to see it finished
This is a request/idea thread for mods. I'm sorry to say that I don't mod Minecraft. If I knew the basics, I would jump right on it, but I don't...

I would hope for the public.

Hm, I see, and I get your point.
It'd be fun to see cows of differnt colors mix up in pens
I think this already happens with colored sheep, too.
How could I forget about colored sheep.... You're right, they do mix colors when bred.
Fare enough then more then one mod is proably better
