This is a bug within minecraft that's been there for quite some time and I have recently seen in some bug reports that it still exists within 1.9. what happens is if you host a LAN world and someone joins, the person who joined cannot see the hosts skin, the host can see there own skin and others skins, and if 2 or more players join the world they can see others skins except for the hosts skin, but the host can see everyones skins including there own.
however the author has not been present for at least a month and cannot seem to fix it.
yes this is a cosmetic thing, but a lot of people have been waiting for a fix for this and I think a simple mod to fix this would be great, whether it's a forge mod or a self installing mod or both.
Given that the official bug report was created nearly two years ago and in that time span, has never had a developer assigned to it, I don't imagine we will be seeing a fix for it any time soon (if ever).
So yes, at this point it appears that finding someone willing to compile a workaround / bandaid for this bug is necessary. Mildly surprised to see that it hasn't gotten more attention from the community.
I thought I would do a bump to see if anyone is interested in trying to at least fix the broken lan skin fix that's out there (it's linked in my first post).

what I am asking for is a mod that FIXES this issue from 1.7.10 up to the current version 1.9. I have tried to use this other one I found: http://mods.curse.com/mc-mods/minecraft/229933-lan-host-skin-fix

Another bump to see if anyone is interested in taking on this task, for 1.7.10 and beyond.
