I hope this mod gets finished eventually... that would be super nice! i have almost no expeirence with mods, but i tried to make a slime rancher mod in Mcreator, that didn't work too well... Hope this gets finished!

Yeah, I have been getting into the mod making stuff myself recently. I've been thinking about Slime Rancher and how to make this be a thing. I've been thinking more on the slime science side of it though, I suppose more end game stuff with it (picturing the earlier stuff being easy like custom slimes and such. Probably just a trade station or something for exchanging plorts for emeralds). Not sure if anyone has been branching into Slime Science yet, but I can easily see one of two things happening.
Either modify the apiary code from Forestry so you make a new thing for Slime Science. Basically you make fuels instead of machines which then you feed into machines (probably easiest option). Or a machine that you can't really interact with, it will just over time spit out materials until it runs out. At which time you renew it with fuel (right click with fuel in hand). Or maybe some way to recycle the used machine.
I am still early in the Slime Rancher's Slime Science stuff, but am liking what I see so far with it. I'd probably branch into just decorative things you could make as well.
Slime Rancher just recently got an official release, so it can be considered finished in terms of major features. The next updates are likely to be mainly bugfixes and maybe a couple new minor features.
Also, Lightwave was just on two days ago, according to my last check on his profile page today.
